You're staying in Skyland, one of Tahoe's oldest lakeside communities, dating back to 1959. It's a quiet, residential stretch of the east shore with around 230 homes — no big commercial strip, just tree-lined streets and lake views. The neighborhood's private homeowners' beach sits at the west end of Skyland Drive (accessed via Skyland Ct) — a sunny, sandy spot that's great for swimming, picnicking, or launching a kayak or paddleboard. It's shared among Skyland residents and their guests, so it stays quiet and uncrowded compared to public beaches nearby.

Zephyr Cove — A Few Minutes Away
Just down the road, Zephyr Cove Resort has a marina, a restaurant, and Lake Tahoe boat cruises if you want to get out on the water. In winter, it's also home to a snowmobile touring center. It's an easy stop for lake activities without driving all the way into South Lake Tahoe

Inside, the main level has an easy, open layout. The upstairs living room is bright and comfortable with lots of seating and a smart TV, and it connects smoothly to the dining area and the deck outside. The kitchen is large and well-equipped, with plenty of counter space, open shelving, modern appliances, and everything needed for full meals or casual cooking. The dining table seats eight and opens directly to an outdoor deck with a BBQ and forest backdrop.

The master suite sits on this level as well. It includes patio access, a spacious layout, and its own spa-style bathroom with a steam shower, a waterfall showerhead, a double vanity, and a walk-in closet. Two additional upstairs bedrooms each feature queen beds, natural light, and easy access to the shared bathroom.

The lower level offers an entirely separate space for entertainment and quiet retreat. Nearest Airport

Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is the closest option — about 52 miles away, roughly a 51-minute drive without traffic or stops. Route: south on Hwy 395 to Carson City, then west on Hwy 50 over Spooner Summit into the Tahoe Basin.

Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is a further-out alternative, better if you're connecting through Northern California — about 114.5 miles, roughly a 2.5-hour drive.

No Rental Car? Airport Shuttle Option

South Tahoe Airporter runs a shuttle from Reno-Tahoe International Airport to Stateline, NV (Lakeside Inn), about 5 times a day — tickets run $30–33, journey takes about 1h 15m. From Stateline, you'll still need a taxi or rideshare to reach the property (roughly a 10–15 minute ride).

Rideshare & Taxis

Uber and Lyft do serve the South Lake Tahoe/Stateline area, but availability is noticeably lower than in major cities, and surge pricing can be significant during peak ski season. If you're arriving late at night or during a busy winter weekend, it's worth booking a shuttle/car service in advance rather than counting on grabbing a rideshare on the spot.

Local Public Transit

BlueGO (Tahoe Transportation District) runs bus routes through the South Shore/Stateline area, including routes that pass near Zephyr Cove — useful for getting into South Lake Tahoe or Stateline for dining/casinos, but there's no direct stop at the property itself, so plan on a taxi or rideshare for the last stretch. Winter service can also run on a reduced/seasonal schedule, so check current timetables if you're relying on it.

Winter Driving Note

If you're driving in from Reno via Hwy 50, Spooner Summit is the chain-control bottleneck during storms — you may need tire chains even with all-wheel drive. Allow about 90 minutes in normal conditions, but 2+ hours in heavy weather. Worth mentioning to guests renting a car in winter so they're not caught off guard.
