RIDICULOUS

This property is unacceptable. There was not one thing I liked about this property it was the worst facility I've ever been to.

The staff were rude and snotty and in competition with every woman that walked through the door. They had multiple break-ins from homeless people and possibly gang members and many thefts during these break-ins. They were at least six break-ins while I was at this facility. On one of the break-ins while I was at this facility the thieves broke into the basement and took two the boards of currency that were on the wall from. On another occasion during my stay a homeless person walked right in off the street followed someone who was staying there inside of the property entered my dorm which was Asia and while they entered the dorm they stole a key from someone who had just checked in. This homeless person saw my case of water on the floor and asked if they could have a water I simply gave him a water and then he asked if he could drink the water in my bed??? I asked him where his bed sheets were and he could not tell me then at that moment I discovered that he had not paid to be in the facility that he had walked in off of the streets.and just entered a dorm picked a bed for his self asked me for water than asked me if he could drink that water in my bed??? The staff won't call the police because they claim the police won't respond or come out??? When a person checks out the blankets that are on the bed are not washed they simply leave them there for the next guest !!! If someone enters the property sick with covid or the flu they are not willing to give that person a separate dorm to keep them from infecting other people they simply turn their heads like they can't see the person is sick and can effect everyone else on the property!!!. I had blood on my pillow and fitted sheets in which they don't change either when a person checks out. So if you are worried about safety and cleanliness this is not the place to go!!!

It was ok. Every other thing was fine.

The female staff was rude, very unprofessional. Normally you are shown to your room but the lady just gave me the key and gave directions and then remained sitted focused on her phone.

Falls way short

I really only used the place to sleep, so I did not not participate in any group activities/mesh with people in the living room and such. However, I could tell whenever coming in that the ambiance was pretty great among backpackers. Host is also very welcoming !

So so dirty. Not the casual, ''I forgot to clean this week'' dirty, but really more ''I haven't cleaned in months'' dirtiness. Whether it be the bathrooms, the common areas or the room itself, it's all in need of a thorough sweeping as well as a heavy disinfection. The ratio for available bathrooms vs guests is really lacking. The dormitory rooms are heavily lacking; no curtains for privacy & only two lights available for 10 beds. As others have said, the location is optimal as it's within walking distance to downtown. However, the area is not that safe at night, with multiple homeless people and drug users around. Which is also why there is a lot of mayhem going on at night. We had loud noises, music and people yelling right outside our window well into the night (2-3 AM).

Should have a policy of no smoking in the rooms. They have a balcony and every night people were waking up to open the door and smoke which causes noise, wind, cold, and weed smell. Should lock that door at night. Beds should have curtains like all the hostels...

Ok if you just want to put your head down to sleep.

The room was clean and the wifi was fast.

The person at the check in was not nice, tried to charge me extra for other things. Did not make me feel welcome and did not offer any help/suggestions regarding meals, attractions, etc. I was charged over $12 for parking. Did not have a flat screen tv in the room as per the add on my booking and the room was so small you couldn’t walk.

Strange Place

I have never written a bad evaluation but this hostel does not earn its 8.9 stars. I have been to many hostels since I am travelling a lot but rarely I have seen a hostel like that. The personal was fine but the beds were uncomfortable and way too little bathrooms. Usually hostels are for younger people - in this hostel the average was around 40 (and they seemed to be homeless/prostitutes as well??)
