I really enjoyed Jacqueline, a front desk staff (Who knows all), generational Newfoundlander who will guide you to the best adventures in town. Front desk staff are awesome and accommodating. Good breakfeast and great beds.Excellent location

Spacious very well lit room, comfy bed. Quite neighborhood with plenty of parking on site. Just a 10 minutes walk from the downtown.

The breakfast choices were great. Jane, the server, was awesome.
The staff were very accommodating in the hotel.
We like fresh air, but the window did not open. Since our door opened to the outside we had to prop it open for air flow. It wo rked well, but we would have preferred a window that opened.

The bed was comfortable. The bathtub was long and deep. The room was clean.
The service was ridiculously slow in the restaurant. Other diners told me the same. The menu was not accurate; for instance, it didn't mention that an egg sandwich included mayonnaise. (I'd never, ever heard of mayonnaise on an egg sandwich. When I requested "Please, no butter," I never expected there'd be mayonnaise, instead, or else I would have also requested no mayonnaise.) Both at dinner and breakfast, the staff made a point of kicking us out at exactly closing time instead of allowing us to relax and enjoy the last bites of our food or the last sips of our coffee or juice. On the phone, I was told I could leave my luggage at the desk before check-in time since I was due to arrive early. I was told there would always be someone at the desk. I accepted this, only to find no one at the desk when I went to pick up my luggage, so the luggage was unguarded (and the entrance to the hotel is unlocked). When she returned to the desk, the attendant told me she'd only briefly gone to the bathroom. I'd never, ever expect someone not to go to the bathroom when nature calls,
but it meant that what I'd been told on the phone wasn't true. I feel that, at minimum, another attendant should have been there to make sure the luggage was safe, or there should be a locked luggage area. In no way should information given over the phone be untrue.
