Theater district….I have stayed here several times over the past 25 years when my late husband was on a national board that met quarterly in NYC. I enjoy access to 5th Avenue, Broadway, museums etc. I consider 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues my NYC blocks.

Great location. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful,
even when circumstances were working against them, they made every effort to accommodate our requests.
Very good food in bar and restaurant. Very good gym.
It was disappointing on several points. We had a 1 bedroom suite for 3 nights which had very tired decor, broken window blinds, no in-room fridge, antiquated heating/air con system, erratic water temperature for showering, often just lukewarm water. Given that we were paying almost $1000 per night, we really expected a higher level of comfort and amenities from the room. My husband had stayed here often 30 years ago and remembered the hotel fondly for quality and charm. Sadly, he felt the hotel had not moved with the times, despite recent and ongoing refurbishment and the room just felt old and shabby.
