The room was very clean and comfortable, recently refurbished. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were there from out of state for UC Berkeley Move-in and they were very helpful with our extra bags and making sure we got a downstairs room. I had called ahead to ask about it.
There is no “common area”, so unless you want to hang out in someone’s room, it might not be the best solution for larger groups, but it was great for us.

A very tidy and well kept motel-like set up. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking readily available. Friendly staff. Well priced.
Located in close proximity to a busy Freeway, there is road noise. Using the AC (on cool or just in fan mode) helped mask the noise.

They allowed my dog.
The room had a noticeable smell of smoke residue, which was unpleasant. The sheets appeared to be clean, but they had been washed with a heavily scented product that I found overwhelming.
The pillows were also very uncomfortable and much too puffy. I mentioned to the staff that it would be helpful to offer a variety—one flatter pillow, one medium, and one puffy. Instead, all three were extremely puffy.
Lastly, the heating/air-conditioning unit was very loud, making it difficult to sleep comfortably.
Overall, these issues made the room much less comfortable than I expected.
