Good location, nice hotel but cleanliness was lacking, bathroom had black mold!

The property is historic and beautifully appointed and definitely in a good location if you want to be close to the shops on King St. The lobby is exceptional with high ceilings and chandeliers and even had live piano music at cocktail hour. Although we were told that there would be complimentary champagne and crackers/cheese, we discovered a variety of cookies and flavored water. That was good enough for us. The Swamp Fox restaurant which is attached to the hotel was a nice place to have a predinner cocktail. Also, Starbucks is also on the ground level of the hotel, which was convenient for a grab n go breakfast sandwich and coffee. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel provides oversized robes as well.
I was surprised at how noisy that particular intersection is well past midnight. Our room was on the 6th floor facing the park and close to the intersection. We heard loud vehicles and lots of people partying into the wee hours of the morning.

Room had 2 double beds. 4 people could stay in this room, but the bathroom was the size of a postage stamp.

The property was situated centrally and found the staff very polite and helpful.
We booked a room with two double beds for 2 adults & 2 teenagers. The beds were very small and I would not recommend if you 4 people are to use one room. Also the air conditioning was very noise and situated next to the bed and blows freezing cold air onto whoever was sleeping in the bed. The hotel reduced the cost of the stay but it was disappointing and I won’t return.
