The location
I’m honestly not sure how this hotel has a rating of 8.4 on Booking.com. I paid around $1,700 for four nights in a standard double room, and unfortunately, I don’t feel the hotel offered good value for the price.
The location is definitely the biggest positive — it is very central and convenient for exploring New York. The staff were also friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
However, the hotel itself feels very outdated, particularly the bathroom. There was a shower over the bath, but no handheld shower head, which made it rather inconvenient to use. The room itself was just okay and certainly didn’t feel like what I would expect for the price we paid.
Breakfast is included, which is a nice bonus, but unfortunately, the choice and variety were quite poor. Even the waffle maker and toaster looked very old and dated.
Overall, the location and friendly staff were the main positives, but the hotel would benefit from a significant update and improvement in its facilities and breakfast offering. I would personally look at other options for my next stay in New York.
