Great location for ocean-facing rooms.

Location (ocean view, King size bed)

Couldn’t take a shower in the morning (heater wasn’t working properly). Paper thin walls and very old plumbing. You hear guests using restroom and walking above you. Furniture is very old and needs to be replaced. At least the bed was comfortable.

We will definitely come back and stay here again and again and again!

The view was amazing. The room was big and comfortable. The fireplace was a nice touch on a cool evening. The view again was amazing and was exactly what the picture showed. Also the grounds were nice and inviting so we strolled around and enjoyed them.

One of the best hotels of our trip!

Room was lovely with two big beds and a TV. Tea and coffee making facilities, a desk and plenty extra space. Bathroom was really elegant and well equipped with lots of towels (including pool towels) and bathrobes. The pool was open, but we didn't go in due to the rain. The restaurant and bar nearby was really nice, and there is a short path to the beach walk where you can look at the ocean. Staff were really lovely on arrival. Parking was included at no extra cost.

Nothing, would happily stay again.

The view was amazing and the fire tables to make s’mores by your room at night was amazing!

It’s a little far from the center of everything but it was okay still was amazing

Great area in back near the water. Firepits, sound of waves, well kept. Room was ok, clean. A few outdated pieces but overall good.

Room had no a/c so it smelled musty for a while. We opened the door to let in fresh air.

Exceptional

The balcony overlooking the ocean was beautiful. Also the fire out by the water was really nice. Also I took this trip to meet my youngest brother that my mother gave up for adoption in 1976. It was a very heartfelt trip. It was the perfect location halfway between San Francisco and San Diego for us to meet. We talked about staying in San Louis Obispo but I'm glad we settled on the Spyglass Inn. Thank you for helping to create a beginning for myself and my brother.

Overall it was an okay stay!

Great spot. Very close to an amazing beach and close to our dining spot.

TV could’ve been better and the remote was difficult when it came to going through the selection of movies because it wouldn’t go to the next one when we were clicking on the button.

GREAT little spot with super comfy beds!

super clean, beautiful furniture, super soft sheets on a comfy bed—actually I was shocked at how comfortable the bed was. two thumbs up. oh and ROBES!! My favorite part of staying anywhere is robes. and the waffle fabric was super comfy. staff is super nice. A+ will be back next time I’m in Shell Beach!

So, the original heaters don’t have a thermostat. I fell asleep comfortable and woke up in a surprise sauna. Learned the first night, lol. Also noticed that the light switches are not connected to the lights so kinda had to fumble around in the dark to find a lamp. Suggestion would just be to have a lamp on in the room for check in as it would be more welcoming.

I would return and recommend.

The location. Fire pits, the back of the property was beautiful. on the cliffs overlooking the ocean

The carpet and drapes need to be updated. Although the room was clean and comfortable.

Excellent stay in a fanatic location.

Excellent location, good restaurant and friendly staff.

Bathroom had a tired seat and fittings on the bath which could be removed quite easily.

front door had large gap where light & cold air came thru. may want to look at weather stripping the door.
