The location was close to good shopping areas as well as the DuQuoin State Fair we were attending.
The front desk attendant/manager (?) was rude & charged us an additional $30 for a 15 year old in our room when their policy clearly stated "children 17 & under stay free with a parent". He refunded the charge when we questioned it, but was huffy about it. There were only two, very flat, pillows on each double bed & there were no extra sheets/blankets in the room......We have stayed at this location before & it was good. Not so much this time. Overall, we were disappointed & will be finding other accommodations next time.

It was a good price for providing only the necessary conveniences.
I could never figure out how to adjust the air conditioning I tried to get the management that evening to help me but they did not know what to do either apparently she was new later that morning after freezing all the night I realize the adjustment was on the wall even though it seemed like it should’ve been on the machine. I told them the next morning they need to put a sign on the wall saying this is how you adjust the air conditioner

This was a great base for exploring both sides of the Shawnee National Forest. The friendly, helpful staff made us feel welcome, and for a Motel 6, the property exceeded our expectations. Despite being close to the airport, it was surprisingly quiet at night, and we weren't bothered by any noise.

Location was great, central to everything nearby
Location was rundown, very threadbare. I had flies in my room. Could have been cleaner. Strong food smell in hallway. Pictures on site do NOT match the actual facility. My shower was dirty, no amenities other than a bar of soap. Not even an ice bucket.
