Great location, really walkable to shops, restaurants and the beach. Good facilities for travellers (washing, drying, seperate rooms etc).
Hallways felt quite dingy, room was a little bit outdated. Pool was exposed in the lobby, therefore felt we couldn't use it.

During the week I stayed with my husband, it was incredibly peaceful. There were at least a few other people staying but no one was obnoxiously loud until our very last night, and we were truly able to relax and rewind from a very stressful life since the last time we were able to vacation 3 years ago.
The pool, I thought, was amazing, and we were there every day. My husband also agreed it was nice. The first half of the week, the pool was warm, but by the end it was pretty cold, which for me I don't mind, a cold pool is exactly what I need! And the hot tub was hot. I was worried when I saw some reviews stating it was more like a warm bath, but for the most part, it was hot.
Other than Oceanfront, you can't get any better than this for location! It is a lot of walking, but that is the nature of Virginia Beach and not the fault of the hotel. Everything on Atlantic Avenue (shops and sweet treats mostly) is within walking distance of the hotel, and the beach as well is in good enough walking distance. I'm not really a fit person and I managed, but I also didn't want to pay that $10 parking fee in other lots every day we went out.
Overall, it was a 10/10 stay for us. Top notes were just how peaceful it was and staff was very nice and accommodating. Our room was exactly as pictured/described which I also worried about based off other reviews of the hotel.
I don't think the hot tub and pool were properly temped. We saw the staff come in to check it vaguely while we were there, but most of the time they just changed the date the pool and spa were checked and nothing else. It could be that what they're seeing in the room is close enough, and as I stated in my prior review it was hot and comfortable in both the pool and spa to me, but it read 84 degrees in the pool all week even though I noticed a pretty decent difference towards the end of the week. Like I said, it started out warm and by the end it was decently cold.
The spa as well, while it is initially hot when you get in, when you turn the jets on, the jets spit out cold/lukewarm water, which makes the tub eventually a more warm bath so I can understand some other reviews if they came in right after a fill or someone else. It doesn't take long for it to warm up again, but that was a downside. The jets are also very intense, and the way the spa is built you can't really sit anywhere to avoid them. You will get splashed in the face, or have your back absolutely annihilated so beware! (I'm being a bit silly there, don't be afraid to try it out)
And a final slight dismay which isn't really the fault of staff and more common custody of other guests, was our very final night we just wanted to sleep before leaving in the morning and someone moved in next door, so they were rowdy and obnoxious from about 10pm until just before midnight. Credit where credit is due maybe 11:45 ish it went from crazy loud to completely dead silent the rest of the night, but that's just the unfortunate part of having paper thin walls I guess.

Kitchen was great. Pool was nice and heated

I liked how big the room was and I thought there was a nice kitchen I liked how the bedroom was separate from the living room
I felt the rugs were not clean and in general it didn’t look like a clean hotel
