The continental breakfast was just right !!! We enjoyed starting the day off w/the free breakfast. The rooms are updated, quiet, and exactly as depicted. We love the walk-ability of going to dinner on foot across the street to the Eureka, as well as Del Lusso Pizza which were both FANTASTIC !!!! The pool area at Staybridges is very nice, and the staff was friendly !!!
We truly loved our stay at the StayBridges, and we will be back in the future !!! We loved the free solar-covered parking that provided shade for our new vehicle !!! All together, it was an awesome stay !!!
There is an "ant" problem at this time of year in Carlsbad, so we understood not to freak out over them,,,,, but there were quite a few in our room (which didn't turn out to be a problem). We appreciated the staff and the signs in the elevator informing us of this problem. One of the two elevators was out for the entire four day stay at Staybridges, and on Sunday, the 2nd one also went out. We were on the 3rd floor so it made it a pain to run up to the room over and over,,,,, this didn't matter to us, but we saw a lady on a cane that was complaining that she wasn't going to be able to take the stairs over and over. The one elevator was repaired by the end of the day, so everyone appreciated having access to it again !!!

Their beds were comfortable and rooms are spacious. My family enjoyed the many amenities; social hour, pool, gym and guest laundry. Access in and out was very easy and close to many things. We also used the fire pit to make s'mores. We've stayed here before and our kids loved it the first time so we decided to make this our choice any time we come down to Carlsbad.
Some of the breakfast items were cold some mornings (sausage or potatoes) had to reheat our food a few times. (We stayed a week). The cost was also a lot more than even an Airbnb with more beds. But my kids loved it here from previous visits, so we went with what was familiar to them.

Quick and easy access from freeway. Staff were very friendly and helpful, though had a couple issues.
Room I originally booked smelled really bad like backed up plumbing. This situation was incredibly unfortunate, as I'd gotten a room with a tub on purpose to recover from a run. Staff quickly moved us into another room... that had a shower. I didn't complain at the time as we just wanted to crash. I also thought it wouldn't be a problem as I could use the hot tub, but this facility didn't have one. I was very, very irritated by that point.
Additionally, the room was laid out really weird. The bathroom didn't have a closing door. It was more of a pocket door, but outside the doorframe. Kind of strange. Shower worked well, but wasn't exactly as desirable as a tub would have been.
