The hotel has preserved some of the historical architecture and this adds to the luxurious atmosphere. We loved that it felt so peaceful and surrounded by nature!
The stone pavement outside gets extremely slippery when its wet.

Very quiet and tranquil, we wanted this type of holiday so this was perfect. Bedroom was amazing - we booked the suite which was huge with a terrace. Pool area was very nice and plenty of loungers. Grounds around the hotel are beautiful.
Service levels were poor for the amount paid and type of hotel. Not enough staff working - constantly ringing bells to get the one waiter to come to the bar from the restaurant and vice versa. And each staff member can only do their job so you cant ask the person in reception to get you a drink. 3 out of 4 mornings we had to set our own breakfast table with cutlery etc. Menu options are very limited especially if you’re vegetarian and not many lunch options. Breakfast was poor - limited options and never enough coffee cups so resulted in asking for more almost every morning. Nearest town is a 2 min drive and 25€ in a taxi!! It can be walked but it’s partly dual carriageway so not very safe. Hotel just lacked in other areas - no hand soap in the spa toilets, cold showers in the spa for example
