Very friendly and helpful staff. They called to check our arrival time and also provided information on dinner options. Simple arrival process, Receptionist showed us to the room. She also took our order for breakfast and got everything correct.
For the breakfast, we arrived to find all the tables have already got a few things pre-set: variety bread basket (plenty more than enough for two), fruit plate, two types of jam, butter. We ordered coffee, scrambled eggs, ham, cheese and fruit yoghurt. They also brought apple juice (apple from the garden). All very delicious.
The hotel is wonderfully decorated with antique furniture, paintings, a roaring fire in the main drawing room was so inviting.
Dinner was a fixed three course meal, and the dinning room is located in on the other side of the fruit and veg garden which is rather interesting. We used our phone torch as it was a bit dark. But it really was worth the trip! The food was amazing! I probably wouldn't have chosen the dishes normally but I really enjoyed it and clean dishes all the way. The service was good and the presentation was excellent.
Our room is very spacious, high ceiling, classic decor, and had everything we needed. Bathroom had a shower and separate bath.
The path to the dinner building could do with lighting up more. It was rather dark, we would have struggled to see if wasn't for the phone torch.

Location, building, grounds, room all good as on previous visit.
We stayed two nights. The first visit we made was a few years ago and as it was very good we decided to stay again this year. The room etc was fine as above. The first night we had dinner at a restaurant in Montlouis - very good. The second night we had dinner at the Chateau. It was dreadful! No menu, no choices, small room with a few people (not the dining room), waiter said nothing at all, food poor, especially small piece of overcooked, dry fish...another guest complained at length.
