Great to stay in a historic building (with added modern plumbing) Tennis court and pool were an unexpected bonus
Main restaurant was shut the night we visited but several good restaurants are located within 15mins drive

room and breakfast were great. dinner was a bit quirky but delicious. the grounds were beautiful especially liked the huge variety of tomatoes growing and the beautiful dahlias

Location, building, grounds, room all good as on previous visit.
We stayed two nights. The first visit we made was a few years ago and as it was very good we decided to stay again this year. The room etc was fine as above. The first night we had dinner at a restaurant in Montlouis - very good. The second night we had dinner at the Chateau. It was dreadful! No menu, no choices, small room with a few people (not the dining room), waiter said nothing at all, food poor, especially small piece of overcooked, dry fish...another guest complained at length.
