The hotel itself is beautiful and has a lot of character. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and well maintained, with a good bathroom.
We only stayed for one night, but in terms of the accommodation itself, we were very satisfied. The hotel is impressive, comfortable and provides a pleasant environment for an overnight stay in Burgos.
The main area for improvement is the service at the front desk.
Unfortunately, both check in and check out felt rather impersonal and not particularly welcoming. When we arrived, the staff seemed more occupied with talking amongst themselves than with welcoming us. We were checked in, but very little information about the hotel was provided.
For example, nobody explained where the restaurant was or where breakfast would be served. As these are located in different areas of the hotel, we later had to return to reception specifically to ask.
We experienced a similar lack of warmth when checking out. Nothing was necessarily handled incorrectly, but the friendliness and personal attention we normally expect from a hotel at this level were missing.
We also had dinner at the hotel on Sunday evening. On Sundays, only a fixed menu is available rather than the regular à la carte menu. The food was tasty and perfectly acceptable, but we did not find it particularly memorable or special.
