It was lovely and relaxing.

The food and drinks were excellent. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

We would have appreciated more information about hiking without a guide. I would love to be there once the construction of the new bungalows is complete.

The only criticism I had were that the beds were hard and made loud squeaking noises when someone got up to go to the bathroom

Superb

The location is stunning, lovely staff, very good food, a lot of things to do and the yoga, tubing and the walk in the morning were great. The thermal rivers were unbelievable! It was my birthday and I got a lovely surprise in the room. Very attentive!

The rooms were very beautiful but less comfortable than expected (we stayed with 4 people in one room) and the minibar was empty besides water and coffee, the bathroom sink was unpractical for 4 people to put your stuff on, the lights in the rooms are not so good.

Magical memories made at El Rio Perdido

Beautiful setting, amazing wildlife, helpful and kind staff, fun activities.

There were many light options in the room but somehow it seemed dark at times (or hard to light certain areas). The spa prices seemed a bit overpriced.

We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at Rio Perdido and would return in a heartbeat.

Breakfast was great. The staff was incredibly friendly and all seemed genuinely grateful for the working experience. They sincerely seemed to like what they were doing and spoke very highly of the positive changes Rio Perdido brought to their area.

We only stayed one night but I could have easily have stayed more.

This was a to notch facility. Every detail was taken care of. When we arrived they had a table with cook drinks and cool towels for us as we checked in. The staff was very accommodating at all times. They knew I needed a glass of cool water by the pool before I could even ask. The river was amazing but a bit tricky to walk to.

Beautiful & tranquil hotel, perfect place to relax

Absolutely fantastic hotel & stay at Rio Perdido. It is such a tranquil hotel, amazing pools, walks & activities to do. The food & drinks are also amazing and the staff could not be more helpful or friendly. We LOVED our stay.

It was an exciting place with a lot potential to become better.

The view into the forest is lovely, the warm river is a great experience and the thermal pools are amazing.

The room was not ready (beds for children not made), there is a mouldy smell once you enter and in the morning a sewage smell from the bathroom. They tell you the snacks are free and the only snacks is coffee. In general the hotel is very stingy, there is a menu, not a buffet for breakfast, you get one choice free plus coffee/tea, two tiny slices of watermelon, papaya and pineapple. Everything else is extra and you have to pay for it. There is one hike with guide and one yoga session complimentary, but for the rest you have to pay high prices (no teenager prices), most activities are USD 65 per person. Dinner portions are small, we ordered f.e. chicken breast with vegetables, there came two tiny pieces of chicken with 3 pieces of vegetable. On the next day we asked for a bigger portion and they charged us extra. That tells a lot for a hotel that is not cheap.

Loved the staff and the jungle atmosphere. The property is very nice. The bar upstairs and by the pool made delicious drinks. We also loved the ziplining, and tubing on the river- they are a must.

An amazing restful place

Emplacement, friendly and very efficient staff, food, thermal river: everything was perfect ! The place is stunning. The room is clean, spacious, well decorated and very comfortable. You can see monkeys from your balcony or during the breakfast. It was an amazing stay!

Quiet picturesque nicely and thoughtfully planned and designed place

Location, design of the room, restaurant, pools, thermal river. Coctails were great by the way. All is in harmony and very peaceful.

A bit far from the room to the restaurant, but it’s not a big flaw, even stimulated us to walk more.

It is hard to get to and the road isn't easy. But it pays off if you're looking for a retreat from all busy city life.

Can't recommend it enough for active travelers who appreciate a high end setting + adventure.

Everything about our experience at Rio Perdido was phenomenal. The setting is gorgeous, the rooms are stunning, the beds are so comfortable, the view from the rooms is magical, the service is exceptional, and the activities are incredibly unique and memorable.

I saw review talking about the food that almost turned me off this place.

It’s absolutely gorgeous hotsprings river! People in other reviews were saying bad things about the food at the restaurant and that it was over priced BUT it was really good healthy food! It was not over salted so I think that is what turned some American off. The price was VERY modest for such a nice restaurant and service. Steak $25 salad $10… Definitely coming back here.

Rio Perdido is a special place that we can not recommend highly enough.

We loved our stay at Rio Perdido. The staff was extremely friendly, the location was magical, and the food was amazing (we had breakfast and dinner). We loved exploring the trails and the thermal rivers. The wildlife was a huge highlight and included seeing monkeys right outside of our room. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Property overall, staff was awesome and food was amazing.

The only thing we didn’t like was the mattress on bed. It was very hard. Also, if you want to explore outside the property, highly recommend you renting a car. Transfers and others were expensive.

Very friendly staff. nice property with a large range of activities. The thermal river with it’s pools is amazing. Wonderful hideaway. Great spa and very good yoga session.

You need to eat all meals in the hotel because it is far off. The kitchen was average to good but the selection could be wider, especially for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is very good.

It was awesome. Territory, food, service - all at the highest level. Two days was not enough for us to enjoy all the delights of this place. We will back again.
