The location is superb. The way the outside space flows from fhe main restaurant to the bar and outdoor pool is very nice. The pool is perfect. The service is very accommodating and friendly. Notably good local car service to the village and restaurants etc
We stayed in room 505. The room was a good size, tastefully decorated and generally comfortable but we found it very dark inside (in the middle of summer). Probably related to the dormer attic style windows. If I returned, I’d definitely request not to stay on the top floor again and get a brighter room with big windows.
The fitness room was a little frustrating. It had some good equipment including a rack and lots of dumbbells but was missing obvious machines such as a dual pulley and leg extension / curl machines. Instead it was cluttered with unnecessary machines for exercises better done with dumbbells such as an overhead push machine and a chest press machine etc. my guess is that the person who picked most of this equipment has never worked out in a gym. It’s a shame because it could so easily be perfect with the right kit in
The food in the main restaurant was good but not exceptional. Because the setting was so good - you do hope for excellence.

We had such a wonderful stay at The Alpina Gstaad. It's the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a few relaxing days in the mountains. The pool deck is absolutely beautiful and was our favourite spot during the warm summer days. Service throughout the hotel was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming. We also had dinner at Megu, which was outstanding, probably some of the best Japanese food we've had. A lovely touch was the complimentary Vespas, which made exploring the area so much fun. It's the little details that really make this hotel special.
