This chalet is just amazing and i mean amazing it is such a beautiful home, the beds are so comfy the kitchen has everything you can think of. Its a working farm so has sheep and horses, the bathroom was spotless everything was just perfect.

What a wonderful, wonderful place. We spent two nights in this accomodation and we felt like we are really living in Iceland, not only visiting it as tourists. As a family of 4, we got the entire house to ourselves - the house is beautifully and so tastefully decorated, has such a lovely layout, is very spacious and has the most beautiful views - green fields, a huge tree in the middle of the backyard, a river nearby and the owner's horses. It is absolutely idyllic, and watching my kids running in the backyard of this beautiful house in the north of this beautiful country is one of the images I will treasure forever. The interior of the house was beautiful, with large windows and perfect furniture. The kitchen had everything you could possibly imagine needing, and nice little details such as a selection of Icelandic salts were a lovely addition. The house itself is so well equipped, just like a real home - with toys, puzzles and board games for the kids (and for the grown-ups as well), books, and other details that make you feel like you are in a home, not in a rented accomodation.
The location was also perfect for our needs, we were some 20 min away from Husavik which was extremely practical for the early whale-watching tour which we booked in the town.
The icing on the cake of our wonderful stay in Hólmavað Guesthouse were the owners' dogs, two beauties who came to greet us when we arrived and brought their toys to the terrace in the morning as an invitation for playing with them. They were gorgeous and so nice, we almost gave up on our plans for the day and stayed with them ;)
Accomodation-wise, Hólmavað Guesthouse was the highlight of our unbelievable visit to Iceland and if we ever get the chance to visit the country again, we will definitely return to this beautiful accomodation.
