Quiet and private. Close to the city. Lovely staff. Beautiful bungalows on the beach.
The sunbeds were a bit old and tired.

The staff were first class, always smiling and very attentive. Beach was great, clear water and a nice temperature. I did not use the pool but it looked very good, especially for young families. The room was fine although I could not quite work out the air conditioner. TV was well located and a good selection of PayTV options. The resort is located very close to a 7-11 and the Lamai Market, great for eating options.
Not too much. Improvements might include better lighting in the bathroom, a hook behind the bathroom door and a ledge to leave toiletries

The Sand Sea resort has a great location along Lamai Beach, as it is a bit off the main strip but very walkable. The staff was hospitable, with a particular thank you to Cindy, the cleaning staff, and the breakfast team. The rooms were made up nicely each day and breakfast had multiple options.
I booked Sand Sea resort in January 2026, and one day before my arrival in July 2026, they messaged me to say they had moved my reservation to their sister hotel. This hotel is located in a different area, with no beach access or restaurant. A very long story short, I called with Sand Sea multiple times and was able to remain at the resort. The issue was down to some construction, which did not end up bothering me at all. In my feedback to the management, I explained that I understand construction and operational issues occur, but that their contingency planning and handling of the communication was severely lacking. They were apologetic and kind overall in their interpersonal communication in the in person conversations. I did not receive any compensation for the inconveniences caused until I asked for a one hour late check out (they said no, until I reminded them of this whole issue and then they also added an airport transfer). I would not stay here again due to their internal organization and management, despite the overall positive experience at the actual resort. A note that I cannot comment on further, as it is not my own experience, is that we overheard other guests also very upset because they were transferred to the other hotel without their knowledge. I wish Sand Sea Resort the best, as their staff is kind and their location is great.
