The restaurant menu is limited, but the food is very good

Sara and Mawada were so amazing with everything and very accodating and sweet. The resort was so blissful and STUNNING, all the staff go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Tuktuk rides were the highlight - Ramadan was a legend to take us all the way to Philae boat entry for a small fee. So good we extended our stay. Our wellness room had a nice balcony overlooking the sunrise over the Nile in the morning. It is sad to leave the resort because they make you never want to leave! Visited when it was 47° and the pool was still very refreshing. Amazing Vegan options available and breakfast is sooo good. Book a room with breakfast because at resort its $15 per person. All the food is 12/10! Huge portions. Worth every penny. Also best hibiscus tea in aswan! Yes, the resort is far from everything but the tuktuks are so fun! They take you to the Nubian village for free - recommend going in the morning to avoid everyone trying to get you to buy things. Thank you again, Sara and Mawada!!!!!

Distance and no wifi in rooms - but still would give a 10/10

The aesthetics of the resort are stunning - stylish, photogenic Nubian-style architecture. The view from the room over the city, the Nile, and the desert was gorgeous, especially at sunrise. We had a room with a jacuzzi and a lovely view. Food at the restaurant was tasty. Rooms were spacious, with nice complimentary touches like shaving kits, toothpaste, slippers, and free bottled water. Transfers were arranged quickly and easily — both a tuk-tuk ride and the airport transfer🔥

The AC was weak — even on its lowest setting (20) it never cooled the room below 23-25°C, making sleep uncomfortable. Power outages happened occasionally, knocking out the AC entirely. Wi-Fi only reaches the reception area, not the rooms. On arrival there was some dust and sand in the room (jacuzzi, balcony chair, toilet), and the shower tends to leak onto the bathroom floor.

Starting with the positive: this is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful hotels we stayed at in Egypt. The architecture is absolutely stunning and the view is surreal. Just for the scenery and the swimming pool, it was well worth spending these two days here. It is one of those places where you can truly disconnect and enjoy the surroundings. The food is good and the service, in general, is also very good: the whole team was attentive, helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately, we also experienced the most dangerous situation we have ever faced while travelling. During the night, while we were sleeping, the mosquito repellent device in our room caused a short circuit and caught fire. Fortunately, I am a very light sleeper and woke up when I heard a spark. When I realised what was happening, there were two separate areas on fire, with flames over 10 cm high. My 10-year-old son immediately ran out to ask for help while I tried to put out the flames. It was an extremely frightening situation. If I had not woken up at that moment, or if we had not been in the room, we could have lost our belongings, been seriously injured or even lost our lives. Naturally, there was also a risk of the fire spreading to the hotel itself. The staff eventually moved us to another room, but we felt that the seriousness of what had happened was not really acknowledged. The initial response was essentially an apology accompanied by a smile. At check-out, I explained that I felt that, given the seriousness of the situation, some kind of gesture from the hotel would have been the minimum appropriate response. They spent around 15 minutes discussing what they could do and eventually offered us a 10% reduction on our food bill. This is not about the financial value at all. It is about feeling that a situation that could have had extremely serious consequences was not taken seriously enough. Above all, we expected a clearer acknowledgement of what had happened and greater concern for the safety of the guests. I would strongly recommend that the hotel take this incident as an opportunity to review its fire-safety procedures and the electrical equipment provided in the rooms. In particular, every room should have a functioning smoke/fire detector and appropriate fire-safety equipment. Electrical devices such as mosquito repellents should also be regularly inspected and checked for potential faults before being provided to guests.
