The hotel complex is laid out like a village, with a central “clock tower” as a main feature. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast at the restaurant is convenient, and the small gym, kids’ club, beach, and pools are easy to access. Daily short room service (emptying bins, a quick wipe, and changing bedsheets) is also a helpful addition.
On the less positive side, the apartments (apart from the fairly recently renovated bathrooms) have clearly seen their best days, probably back in the 1990s. They are poorly soundproofed — you can hear everything happening above, below, and outside. The windows and balcony doors didn’t close properly, and the kitchen was poorly equipped; we had to improvise with what was available when cooking. The sofa bed mattress in the living room was very hard, and you could feel every spring.
It was also quite cold at night in late April, and the floor-level shower was badly designed — without a proper slope, so the bathroom flooded every time we used it.
The staff did their best to help with these issues, but often didn’t have the necessary materials (for example, they had no spare blankets, couldn’t fix the bathroom, or offer alternative mattresses).
Overall, the hotel feels like it’s managed to maximize profit rather than guest comfort, and it leaves you wondering how much longer they can continue raising prices before it becomes unacceptable.
