Silken Gran Hotel Durango

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is good, close to the old town (in the picture). The staff are very welcoming and always ready to help.

The worn out look (especially of the bathroom doors). The hotel simply needs some refurbishing.

Beautiful clean hotel, friendly staff, perfect location 2 minutes walk from the old town with bars and restaurants. Lovely pool and excellent breakfast

Nothing

The main area was pretty and the hotel was close to the old town, which was lovely to walk around. It was clean and had a very nice bathroom. The room was large, relatively functional and quiet. The bed was comfortable but one of those ergonomic foam beds that can get very hot.

The Staff were crabby and seemed irritated with every request. Their Wifi service (their one advertised included service) does not work with Apple products. To get connectivity, they have to connect you through their internal hotel service. Even that didn’t work so eventually I got connected using their outside service provider using my IP address. Since I had work to do, it was very frustrating. Everything at the property was extra, including towels at the pool or water for the room. FYI, parking at the hotel is 20 euros a night. The A/C was okay (the main reason we chose this hotel) but not really super effective. There were two plugs in the room but both on the desk and none near the bed. All this sounds minor and would be if everything we tried to do hadn’t been a challenge. Also, it was an old charming looking hotel and we were in the new wing, which was okay but could have been a standard hotel room anywhere.
