This hotel is located in a historical and unique milieu. Liked the atmosphere. Also within walking distance to the main street and harbor.
Rooms have no aircon and the day temperature in the room was around 25c, but luckily windows could be opened and the evening was cool.

When we checked in, the staff upgraded our small room to a bigger one - it was lovely. The dinner at the restaurant was my husband's favorite of our entire trip. We loved the historic background of the Sigtunastiftelsen. The location was beautiful - wooded surroundings with views of the lake!

It's a lovely location and the reception staff were helpful.
We've had lovely stays here before but unfortunately this visit didn't live up to past experiences. Having stayed in a king size room previously, I would not stay in a queen sized again as the difference is very notable; no bedside tables, or anywhere comfortable to sit. The restaurant also didn't live up to past experience; that staff were disinterested and while other tables were given breads, we were not and felt ignored. The menu was also extremely limited and not suitable for eating there more than one night-and the portions were very small, especially for the money. Although the very helpful receptionist compensated us for some of this, it was still a rather disappointing stay.
