We would highly recommend the Basile Hotel. Relaxed, contemporary feel that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Well located being within reasonable walking distance of the Opera, Louvre, etc. Also, easy to get to from Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord by Metro if you are travelling by train. Close to Gare St Lazare if you are visiting Versailles. Lots of local dining choices of varying types of food and for different budgets.
All the staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. Lena in particular worked hard to ensure we were happy with everything when we checked in.
Reception area and dining area nicely designed, airy and well lit. Everything was very clean, tidy and well maintained. Chilled water tap for unlimited bottle refills. Lift good but up a couple of steps first.
Our room, whilst quite small, was well designed and laid out with good facilities including small fridge, safe and decent air conditioning. Overlooked quiet street (despite being in a commercial area). Everything was in a good state of repair. Small loo separate to small shower room, but helped by thoughtful design. Water always hot.
As for breakfast they provided a good range of high quality breads, pastries, fruit, eggs (whichever way you want them), meats cheese, jams, etc., juice and hot beverages. We liked the fact it wasn’t the usual buffet where you have to take your chance that what you want is left, rather the food is brought to you. You just let reception know the night before roughly what you want.
The only slight negative was the internet. Slow doesn’t describe it, and you are frequently knocked off. We ended up using our own data and hot spotting devices to phones. Whilst a minor issue which didn’t spoil our stay it stood out as a curious miss in a great hotel that otherwise was excellent in every other way.

Everything! The location was perfect...close enough to the metro stations, and walkable to all scenic sites...yes, even the Eifle Tower if you are a keen walker! The hotel staff were fantastic, the breakfast was wonderful and the room quiet, even being on the roadside, (loved the uPvc windows!), and had the comfiest bed.
The breakfast was so filling that we couldn't eat as many pastries during the day as we would have liked!! 🤣

Lovely rooms slightly small but perfect for a weekend away.
