No place to sit in "living room" . Only cots there. Bedrooms lacked air conditioning although plenty of fans were available.

From the view, to the ammenities and everything in between, this place was amazing. Plenty of great restaurants and bars in the area, close enough to sights but not in a busy spot. The host was also very friendly and extremely helpful. Would highly recommend!!!

The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The host was very quick to respond to anything we needed, sent food recommendations, and made check in and check out very easy.

We quite enjoyed the area. We got the local vibe yet you were within walking distance to both Las Ramblas and Montjuic Castle. The beds were very cozy and it was very quiet at night. The owner was very responsive to any enquiries. Our only issue was the bathroom was a little dark and the shower pressure wasn't strong but we managed nicely. There was also a delicious pasteria one block down.

Just what I was looking for: clean, close to everything, neighborhood feel, simple. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed everyday!

Denis was a gracious host. The apartment was very welcoming providing everything we needed. The location was great for us with a plaza walkway with restaurants, bars, groceries and a bakery. Denis provided restaurant recommendations as well.

We had a great time in Barcelona. The apartment was clean and located within 20 min walk of the Barcelona Cathedral.

Problem, owner did not have property ready(HE had the dates incorrect). Not able to enter apartment until after 8p. Not cool after traveling 18 hrs. I would not consider the property updated, new paint, sure. The shower/washroom was the nicest part of the property, however the water pressure in the shower had a lot to be desired. If you have allergies, it can be a bit of a problem. If on a budget, ok place.

We really enjoyed staying at this property as it had everything we needed. The location is close to amenities and the beach and is in walking distance. Very clean and has that local feeling. Will be back.

Photos of property are far more pleasant than reality. Location is gritty and littered. Our arrival was confronted with the smell of bodily waste and a passing resident digging through the trash. Graffiti decorated all walls. The building entrance was very secure but the hall and stairs were long past due a deep cleaning and paint. The apartment seemed well maintained and updated. Our experience was limited since we immediately left the area and found a wonderful place elsewhere. This was our last city of our 28 day 9 city European tour. The price reflects the experience. Not recommended for a US tourist.

The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood away from the downtown, but still only 5 minutes from many nice restaurants, bars and small grocery stores. 15 to 20 minute walk to more of the tourist areas. Denis is very easy to work with if anything is needed. If you need a taxi it can be a problem. I called for taxi 3 times during my stay and they only showed up once. Really caused a problem when going to airport.

We enjoyed our stay in Denis' apartment. It was quiet and in good walking distance to Las Ramblas and the port. The air conditioner needed supplement fans , but we were comfortable. It was nice having a washer and dryer to wash our clothes after a cruise.

Great place to stay, nice and airy and in a very cool neighbourhood. We would definitely stay again. There are lots of stairs up to the apartment but there is also an elevator if needed! The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed!

Dennis was a great host. We appreciated the excellent communication, restaurant recommendations and even assistance stowing our bags when we arrived before checkin. The A/C unit was no match for the Barcelona summer, but the fan setup helped. We loved the location and it made for the perfect jumping off point for Montjuic, Barcaloneta and all the old neighborhoods of the city via metro or bus. Thanks so much, Dennis!

Beautiful apartment with excellent views of the city and great access to public transportation. Denis was accommodating and very helpful. Would stay at his property again.

This property had its good points and it’s bad points. It was very affordable and it was close to where we needed to be at the Olympic pools. It’s also in close proximity to a lot of very good tapas restaurants as well as some small bodega type supermarkets. It’s also within short walking distance of Las Ramblas. The owner is extremely responsive to issues that come up and is very cordial and pleasant to deal with. The problem we had started early on .. when we had to go to a combination lockbox to obtain the key to the apartment building which is not located in the same place as the VRBO! (Note:This check in procedure required multiple steps and deciphering multiple combination locks and should’ve been disclosed earlier.) Once you obtain the 1st key then you need to go to the Vrbo property to unlock the front door. These places are not relatively close to one another .. and if you are in a taxi…. With luggage .. it is not a good situation. Then when you get to the apartment you have to unlock a second combination lock to get the key to the front door. The space itself is sparsely furnished. It has one air-conditioning unit but unfortunately only cools down the kitchen area while the rest of the house becomes very hot and if it were not for the multiple fans all over the place it would be brutally hot! The washer and dryer work fine. Although the dryer is a little wonky. The place could use some treatment for ants. There are a bunch of ants in the kitchen crawling around. The dishwasher racks are rusted as are some of the locking mechanisms throughout the apartment. Probably the nicest part about the apartment was the spectacular bathroom. If the entire place was like that it would’ve been great. Also there is no close place to throw the garbage out. You must take the garbage down four flights of stairs and then go outside and open one of the trash bins that the entire block uses. It can be cumbersome and very smelly. Also the hallways leading up to the Vrbo are decrepit looking. It feels like you’re in section 8 housing or a slum city. It’s pretty nasty. Finally there is an undisclosed tourist tax that the owner told us about 48 hours before check out. It’s not much but it should’ve been clarified in the original VRBO pricing sheet. Overall , the price for this VRBO is fair but just understand what you’re getting into beforehand.

Great Neighborhood Denis was a great host

Lovely apartment with everything needed for comfort. It has a lot of small level changes (half steps up/down), and the lift to the 4th floor is tiny, so if you have mobility challenges, this apartment may not be for you. Beds were comfortable, but the street can be noisy. I ran a fan for white noise and was fine in the inner bedroom, but my sister and her husband, sleeping in the bedroom next to the street, were woken several times. There is only one bathroom; this wasn’t entirely clear to me when I picked this listing, but I think it’s been clarified since then. The toilet is separate from the double/sink shower, which is nice, although the toilet closet is tiny. We’re all tall, so we had to leave the door cracked to fit our knees. Everything was very clean. Be aware you’ll need to buy paper towels if you want some; also, you may need to retrieve kitchen towels from the clothes lines outside the bathroom. Check in/out was completely contactless; be aware you’ll retrieve a key from a different location from the apartment; it’s within walking distance. The host was friendly and helpful via text. There is a pleasant walking street just a couple of blocks away lined with good restaurants, and Montjuic Castle is right up the hill, although if you walk like we did, it’s quite a ways up! Metro is a few blocks down the hill, and there are supermercats and a bakery very close by. WiFi is included and fast. All in all, a very nice place to explore Barcelona from, and I’d recommend it.

We communicated our decision next day. We requested refund, but we’re met with an unsympathetic ear. Ok, no refund, but how about considering my wife’s medical distress and at least refunding cleaning fees since we never used apartment??? To this day my request to at least discuss our situation has had no response. Totally unprofessional. I understand last minute changes may cause a challenge in one’s business decision, but at least communicate and discuss with your client. Non response, unfortunate! Do not rent from someone who doesn’t respect you enough to communicate and hear your concerns!!! By the way, we’d have preferred enjoying our stay to having to pull our luggage around town to find a hotel! With much regrets, Dissatisfied customers 😞

The place is located close to the pack and all amenities. It is reasonably quiet in the morning (apart from garbage trucks and such passing by) so not a problem for family stayings. One bedroom has no window to the street so it is very quiet if this si your requirement for the kids. It does get a little bit chilly without heating in the winter, so we had to run electric heaters which are in ample supply by the owner. It has a kitchen and main room as well as two separate bedrooms. The place was really nice and enjoyable to stay at. The owner is very easy to contact and replies very promptly to all messages.
