It is away from the noise of the downtown area however, at the same time it is close to all of the attractions Santa Elena and Monteverde have to offer. Casa Luna is located in a very safe neighborhood surround by private conservation areas (Private wildlife Refuges.) It is about 2 minutes from the Downtown Santa Area. You can arrive to the downtown area by walking (about 10 minutes) or in Taxi (about 2 minutes). In the downtown area you can find bars, restaurants, supermarkets, cafes, mall and other main attractions that Monteverde has to offer. It features 2 bedrooms that has 1 queen bed, 1 full bed and 1 twin bed and one bathroom. It has a fully loaded modern kitchen. Loved being close to a great night walk, and lots of birds around just walking around the neighborhood. The shower had trouble draining on day 1 of our visit, but the owner Juan Carlos came by shortly after messaging him to get it fixed. A few more outdoor chairs would have been nice, but there was a fire pit and some folding chairs we moved outside.

The place worked well for our short stay. It did feel a bit small for the five of us but it was effective. The shower temperature was a bit tricky. The shower does cause standing water in the bathroom. The place needs either screens in the windows or ceiling fans to move the air around in the house. Open windows right now allow the bugs to come in. Overall it was a clean and nice place to stay during our time.

The property provided a quiet and convenient setting to explore the area. The kitchen is well equipped but could use a toaster. Great washer and dryer and kitchen appliances very up to date. Bathroom is updated but there was an issue with very little hot water in the shower despite very good hot water supply from all other faucets. Also could use a hair dryer. The hosts were very responsive in their communications. We would recommend this home to other travelers.

Stayed 3 nights was spotless, had friends stop by and were impressed condition and location next to night walk tour. Attached is made into a outdoor sitting area with couches, open garage door and view the wild life and trees.

Excellent home just outside Monteverde, very clean and we had a good rest here. I had rented a car so it was easy getting around. The owner was very receptive and always available via text. I would stay at Casa Luna again.

Beautiful clean house, spacious and well equipped. Minor issue with the water in the kitchen sink that we ended up having to fix ourselves. Regardless would easily recommend.

This houses was very clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of parking on nice property, in a quiet neighborhood. Washer and Dryer were a plus! We even went to the Night Tour located behind the houses, which was fun! The beds were a little too hard for our preference. There is no AC, but it was cool enough outside to open the windows and cool the house.

Easy checkin, the first night there wasn’t any hot water in the shower . It wasn’t cold , but little cooler than room temp. The place is very nice. We arrived in the rain, so having the garage to pull into and unpack dry was very much appreciated. The kitchen was well stocked and very nice to cook meals in. There wasn’t much in the way of plants around the yard, but the place seemed fairly new . We bought a bunch of meat to grill on the grill although when we went to grill in the evening we discovered it wasn’t a gas grill but charcoal, and there wasn’t any charcoal there. We contacted the host about there not being any charcoal there, but we never received a response. We ended up having to go back out on a special trip just to buy charcoal.The bedrooms were rather small and not really much room for a pull behind luggage bag, but they were nice, seemed new and clean. There wasn’t any bugs or roaches in the house . Impressive for being in Costa Rica. The morning we left the water ran out and didn’t work, right in the middle of making breakfast and trying to take a shower. We contacted the host again and received no response again, but the water started working again within about 20 minutes. All in all I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat as it’s nice, clean and very reasonably priced.

Nice and close to town, the property is large and secure, and the house provided exactly what we needed; a dry, warm, clean space with the real bonus being an inside garage to park our car out of the heavy rain we had on arrival. Happy to recommend this place for up to 4 people!

The house is surrounded by a fence with a gate that is opened with a remote. It is far enough from roads that we never heard any road noise. The host was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating to give us the keys and pick them up on the way out. The house was very comfortable and had good space. We were only there for three nights, but we would have been very comfortable staying there much longer. I would love to go back and stay there again.

Much thought has been put into the design and furnishing of this new little house. The kitchen made it possible to have both breakfast and a dinner at home. We appreciated the flashlight when the electricity went out. The washer and dryer were excellent. We would have appreciated lamps in our bedrooms and living room and screens on some of the windows. We loved, loved, loved the location—-quiet and within a family compound. We highly recommend this place——it just lacked a couple of things that I’m sure will be added as it is new.

This property is newly built (as of 11/18) and just off the main road, a few minutes drive from Santa Elena. Santa Elena is not much of a town, but all there is around here and does have a couple small grocery stores, restaurants and gift shops. You could walk to town, but would not want to as the roads have no sidewalks and are narrow and chaotic with traffic. We arrived early so picked up the key and dropped our bags in the garage and put our food in the fridge (butter and bags of leftovers from our previous stay in La Fortuna). The fridge had been cleaned out prior to our arrival and the cleaning people were still there watching us operate. We came back 2 hours later and all the food was gone, so a rather unfortunate miscommunication, as someone must have thought this was from the previous tenants. The house is modern and clean with a big stove and fridge and a new washer and dryer. There is also a big TV with Netflix access, so we watched a movie one night. But there are a few vexing issues with the house. The bathroom sink has no trap on the drain, so sewer gas comes out. We ended up plugging this up, but just reflective of the build-quality of the house. Along the same lines, the supply valve to the washing machine leaks when opened, even though this is a new valve that could easily be replaced. The window in the bathroom sits loose in its frame so that even in the latched position, it can be jiggled free. Also, the front door has an electronic key pad that seems a bit wonky. The house has a sofa and love seat, but there are no side tables or coffee table (all of which could be easily added) so the only place to gather around is the bar area. All-in-all quite satisfied considering the low price, but a few easy-to-improve items.
