Had 2 nights here and slept a total of 4 hours due to the music.

Free breakfast is lovey, there was toast, butters, boiled egg, mango and macaroni cheese. I stayed in a female dorm and the room was ver spacious, with a massive locker big enough to fit a large suitcase in. Full length mirrors, and 3 other mirrors, bathroom robes and a kitchenette. Best facilities any hostel I’ve ever stayed in has had! The hostel is so sociable! Fernando does a fantastic walking tour, providing info of the city from 5-6. The cafe downstairs is open 24/7 and the cooks are so lovely! House keeping is amazing, the hostel is so clean!

The only reason my score is low is due to the noise. If you want to party and don’t want to sleep or if you are a heavy sleeper this is a perfect hostel for you. I wanted to party then sleep at 2am, but you can’t sleep till the music goes off at 4am, then everyone gets up for breakfast early. So you don’t get any quiet time to sleep, I had ear plugs too. If you are a heavy sleeper this hostel is perfect, but I’m not unfortunately and didn’t see any comments about the noise when I read reviews. I stayed on the 5th floor and the bar is on the 6th floor. I then moved to the 3rd floor and there was still music from downstairs bars, so u fortunately you can hear noise in all floors. Such a shame other wise this hostel would be 5 star for sure!

Good

The hostel provides many activities for the guests (e. g., walking tours, night tours). For me as solo traveler it facilitated to get in touch with people. There is also a nice roof top bar in the hostel and there are many bars around the hostel. The facilities seemed to be good and clean.

I slept in a four bunk bed room and my bed was located in the way of the airflow of the AC which was a bit inconvenient because of the risk to get a cold.

Z Hostel is the happening place in Makati

Friendly ppl and staff and management was exceptional.

Some guests are slobs and take advantage of a great housekeeping staff.

It's a good quality hostel with good and clean facilities. The information and confirmation provided before arrival was convenient. The location is in the middle of a cool up and coming party area.

1. The standard twin room I booked is misleadingly marketed. It turned out not to be a private room (this language for hotels most definitely means the bed size is a twin bed) but rather a room with bunk beds and fits 2 people! 2. Requesting a security deposit in cash or passport was strange, I insisted that with the room being paid for in advance and my card info with booking.com this should be enough and they will be able to charge me through booking if there are any extra fees but this didn't work 3. The staff while attentive seemed to be annoyed that I misunderstood the room would be a private one. My complaint about the misleading marketing was received in silence, and the young staffer just kept repeating the same sentence to me 3-4 times (twin means 2 beds) which wasn't the most respectful or intelligent way of handling the issue. 4. It is in a loud neighborhood, which I expected, but be prepared to hear music until 4-5 am outside the hostel. The rooftop bar was so full of people I couldn't stand or enjoy because it is a big party spot.

there is an open air club just right next to the hostel, if you are staying there on Friday night, prepare for SUPER loud music until 5am. I didn’t sleep at all all night…

Basic - a lot of noise

Room is basic, but ok. Same for the breakfast.

Party hostel. Impossible to sleep before 4 am because of the noise of the rooftop bar.

Superb

A really great hostel, relatively near the airport. Great atmosphere, good location. The free walking tour with Fernando is just perfect, I relly recomend it. The breakfasts were nice as well.

There are lots of comments about the noise on the streets. I found it really changed from day to day. So it didn't bother me that much. Plus the aircon is loud enough to muffle the sounds.😁

Friendly staff. Clean and tidy rooms. Very noisy place.

The hostel was in a good location close to everything. the customer service was fine staff very friendly. room was clean and tidy good WiFi service. I also ate at the resturant down stairs at the hostle is was nice.

I only stayed 2 nights as I was starting my tour group I paid extra for a private room I did not sleep either 2 nights I was their, my room back onto a night club and I could hear the loud clubbing music until 4am. I had to chtch an early flight out of Manila the next morning for my tour and I basically didn't sleep due to the noise. The hostel itself is clean and tidy but don't choose this hostel if u like sleep because u won't get any. My friend that joined me on this tour and was also in a private room at z hostel said the same thing that she didn't sleep either 2 nights she was their due to the noise.

Great place, great staff, was just a bit too loud for us in the night (lunar new year)

The reception team was very helpful, offered free printing of my boarding pass. They let you keep luggage there for up to 2 weeks after the end of your stay. After that you pay PHP 500. You also get a free cocktail for every checked in member per night at the rooftop bar which has amazing views of the city!

We arrived on the night of the new lunar year and the parties on the rooftop and nearby buildings were very loud. Expect to hear partying all night, particularly the closer you are too the rooftop floor.

Don't go there if you want to sleep!

Horrible experience. The rooftop bar played music so extremely loud that it was impossible to sleep until 4:30 even with earplugs AND Bose noisecancelling headphones additionally

Good location, clean and comfortable room, kind and helpful staff especially at the counter.

All the staff in this hostel were service-oriented and met the guests with kindness and helpfulness, but the staff at the counter was outstanding and exceeded all my expectations. One of the staff at the counter booked a grab taxi for me to an attraction and to my surprise she called me in the afternoon and booked a taxi for my return as well.

The noise level is very high due to a roof bar that plays music at night. The hostel itself is located in a lively area with lots of bars and restaurants around.

A week at Z Hostel

Staff are welcoming and accommodating. Buffet breakfast was really good, so it was worth the pay. Didn't know at first there would be a complimentary cocktail from the roofdeck bar every night, so i was amazed at this, and their cocktail is actually really good. Place is good for socializing, especially since there's a roofdeck bar with a beautiful view of city lights. The ensuite bathroom is cleaned every day, which is good coz some people you are sharing with can be a bit messy. You can request to change towel every day as well.

Inconsistency in terms of how guests can pay in the bar. Rooftop bar is open to the public, so it can be packed on weekends. Was told earlier in the reception that i can get drinks and have it charged to my account (just need to give room and bed no.) But when i went up, the staff in the bar said they do not allow charging to rooms so i need to go down to reception and get RFID which is used by non-guests to pay in the bar. Raised this concern in the reception and they mentioned staff usually rejects charging to room when there's too much people. I understand how they can be busy handling drunk people trying to order more booze but if they know it gets that busy, then just require and inform the guests ahead for the need to use RFIDs so it wouldn't be inconvenient for the guest.

great stay, I recommend everyone to book a few nights here while staying in Manila

great location, great staff shoutout to Jerry who helped me cut oranges at 1am because I wasn’t feeling good and ordered fruits on Grab

no curtain on the beds the blanket is too thin for the level of A/C no lock on lockers
