Awful! Awful! Awful!

It was clean and well maintained.

Be prepared to be watched on camera. The host accused me of having 7 people when there was only 4 of us. He had a third party (Vacasa) contact us and when I spoke to the lady on the phone and told her there was only 4 of us she basically called me a liar and said that the owner saw 7 people arrive (3 in the afternoon and 3 in the evening, first off that’s 6, and he failed to see that 2 of those people who arrived in afternoon left to pick up the 4th person, so 3-2 = 1, 1+3 = 4! Four people and when ai explained that she still implied I was lying. Then they sent a person over to check that make sure there was only 4 and guess what? There was only 4 and he was very rude, storming in and checking all the rooms. And the communication is absolutely atrocious! I couldn’t get a straight answer and when I left voicemails (multiple) I never got a call back, I had to call Portland to speak to someone. It was absolutely the worst experience in all my 10 years of traveling. DO NOT BOOK this place. oh and they are NOT specific at all in their contract. They will break it and did with me. Very disappointed!

Beautiful location, poorly maintained property

The location is perfect for a South Lake Tahoe stay, secluded and private, yet only a short distance from the amenities of the area.

Unfortunately this cozy cabin is also home to the local rodent population. Mice infested, they run free in bedrooms, beds, laundry room,around the living room perimeter and in the focal party central, the bathroom. The property is not sealed at key points of entry. My disabled son and my daughter could not sleep with mice running around under their beds and droppings to step on everywhere. We called for help and they immediately came to set traps, but the traps snapped all night and in the morning the poor rodents were squished and half dead. A few kitchen items and the coffee pot were dirty. A couple towels were stained and gross. Needless to say, we left short of our projected stay. A good thing is the property management company was very efficient in their responses, understanding and supportive. A refund was promptly authorized and they were to contact the owner to repair the property weakness to rodent invasion. So whoever reads this review, be confident that if you book this place, it has probably been fixed. After all, you're coming to Lake Tahoe not Disneyland with Mickey and Co.

Cozy, secluded but not accessible

As described, it is cozy and secluded. Quiet neighborhood, out of the way, yet still accessible by car to main businesses on Hwy 50

There's a walk down onto the property from the street, which is not paved. This made it a bit hard to come in and out especially carrying luggage, kids, pets, and most importantly, for an elderly person. This should be made clear in the description so guests can make a better decision wherever this is the right place for them.
