Though we enjoyed our stay at the Timberloft there were many things that could have been done to make the stay more enjoyable. First and foremost is the issue of maintenance and cleanliness. We were aware of the steep steps to the property but they were overrun with vines making the journey up and down dangerous. I had to cut them myself so ensure that noone tripped. While the property is quite charming, there seemed to be very little thorough cleaning done as of late. The place was quite dusty and full of cobwebs. For the price we paid you would expect that more care would be given to the property. The bathroom shower handle fell off, the transition flooring was not nailed down, and food from previous guests was left in the fridge. Though an air conditioner was provided, it could not cool the place down as it was not installed properly. The bbq that was provided barely worked!! Also there were 4 of us staying there and only a few towels and face clothes were provided. There were some redeeming qualities as it was peaceful and close to the beach but overall, I would not stay in this place as there is very little bang for your buck. I was grateful that the cleaning person came and mowed the lawn, but again I had to ask that it be done so that we might enjoy the grassy area. And though she apologized for not being there sooner, she continued to explain that she had not had a day off in 2 months and that she also had a sunburn. That is ironic as we were on holiday and my partner had not had time off in 5 months as he works 7 days a week. What it boils down to is that the cost of the place was 2300 dollars Canadian and for that price , the place should be pristine!!! More care should be given for those that want a relaxing vacay. I would also like to add that the advertised hot tub was not working and no discount was given!! Two days after our arrival, the cleaning lady said that we could indeed use the hot tub and then another lady from the company said that she would both personally use it as it was ot cleaned!!! Really??? This place was falsely advertised forsure! I wonder if the owners know what is happening to this beautiful property or do they even care?? Beware when considering to ret this place. Sincerely, Karen Penney

The hot tub was out of order which was pretty disappointing as we booked this location based on this feature. We were unable to get in touch with the property manager, our phone calls went straight to answering machine. It also would have been nice to have curtains in the living room for the guests who slept on the pull-out couch. Aside from this, the location was lovely & steps away from a quiet beach!

Weekend Getaway
Weekend Getaway
Beautiful area and so close to a lovely beach. Quiet and private and very spacious. Would certainly come back here again. A few comments however, there was nothing to start a fire for the wood burning stove upon arrival. We arrived late at night and it was very dark out to go search for kindling. Would have been nice to have that so we could get the logs provided going. We did contact the property manager next morning but never heard from him all weekend. Although we found where the wood is stored, it would have been nice to receive a follow up call. I noticed a couple of things that indicated the place hadn't been thoroughly cleaned - behind the bed along the wall on main floor there was a think layer of dust and hair along the baseboard which was surprising and the bbq outside had thick white mold growing on it and the grill hadn't been cleaned from previous guests. We didn't use the bbq for obvious reasons. But with all that said, I would like to come here again!

This home was bright and spacious with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. We visited for a weekend in July and was pleased with the quiet neighborhood. The only trouble we had was, upon showing up, the place was not cleaned. We called the property management company and found out that the cleaners were in a car accident that day and that they could not clean the place. They helped us find the laundry room with fresh sheets and towels. The property manager showed up the next day with an apology and kind basket of goodies for us. We were reimbursed the cleaning fee. We are satisfied with the customer service experience and would recommend this home for a small get-together or retreat with friends!
