This is possibly our fifth time staying at Glens Palas. I’ll start with the positives. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are polite and helpful, and the location in Nisantasi is perfect.
Sadly though over the years the restaurant part has been neglected and we have noticed a real decline. The once amazing breakfast has been reduced to a stale buffet with a couple of à la carte options. The bread offered is days old and hard, the cucumbers and cheese were dry. The vibrancy has gone so unless management choose to revert their restaurant choose I wouldn’t recommend including breakfast if you stay here. There are plenty of choices nearby if you know where to look. Turkish breakfast is an important culturally, so my Turkish wife and I were surprised at how Glens have now decided to treat it. Was this our last time staying at a hotel we considered home when in Istanbul? We will have to think about it in a couple of months. Perhaps this will be our chance to try other options around the area. What a shame!
