About this house rental
Located in Key Largo, this lovely house for $250 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. ***Regarding COVID-19; We do a comprehensive sanitizing of all high traffic areas as recommended by both the EPA and CDC. We use Virex II/256 , the same sanitizer used by hospitals for covid exposed spaces.*** This townhome is located Oceanside in Kawama Yacht Club, in the very heart of Key Largo, minutes away from John Pennekamp State Park, known worldwide for its' excellent scuba diving, snorkeling, and fishing. With great restaurants within walking distance, you can take a break from cooking and enjoy your evening after a day out on the ocean. The townhome is tastefully decorated with a beach house feel. Featuring 2 bedrooms that can comfortably sleep 8, a master bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with full sized bunk beds and twin sized bunk beds, 2 bathrooms, a spacious living room, a fully loaded kitchen, and a dining room with plenty of seating space. A washer and dryer is also included. Located with a nice view of the salt water lake and adjacent to the "beach" on the lake as well as one of the swimming pools. The layout and location is perfect for families, as the adults can relax and watch the children swim and play in the lake as they sit on the screened in back porch. Use of a golf cart is also included (must be licensed driver to operate). A gas grill on the porch is also provided, as are fishing rods. Free high speed internet and wifi that can reach to the pool area, are included, as is an Amazon echo. (just ask Alexa to play some Jimmy Buffet music, or what the weather is gonna be) The club's amenities include an on-site marina (with boat ramp) on the ocean side of key Largo adjacent to Molasses reef. This is a gated community with 24 hour security, a salt water lake full of marine life (no fishing allowed) , a small sand beach on the ocean, a jetty where you can fish, and watch the sunrise and set, 2 swimming pools, a children's playground, and tennis courts. These amenities make Kawama the best value for your money.

Our family stayed at the house during the winter break. The location is great. The house is very well stocked.There were a lot of very friendly families with kids. We had a blast!

The property was at the perfect location. Kitchen seemed to be recently updated but the rest of the house could use updating. Electrical and plumbing seemed to be the big concerns. When taking a shower don’t turn on the washer or try to use the other shower, there will be no water pressure. As far as the electrical, same issue, don’t use a hair dryer with lights on or the lights will start to flicker.

Excellent location, minutes from great restaurants and amenities. The lanai overlooking the lagoon is a great spot to have a morning cup of coffee. Our grandchildren stopped by and really enjoyed the pool. The kitchen was recently updated, and there are some things that need to be finished, but it was well stocked with pantry items, cookware, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

This was a great place to stay. A little older styler home, but was everything that we needed. The back porch overlooking the lagoon was an awesome feature. Use of the golf cart was an added bonus.

-Everything we needed (& then some) for a comfortable stay ex. fully stocked kitchen w/Keurig, reg. coffee maker & espresso machine; many spices, olive oil, sugar, flour, coffee, tea, containers, cooking utensils, pots/pans, Ziploc bags & plastic wrap etc.; plenty of linens, bath & beach towels, sunscreen, aloe, sun hats, pool noodles, coolers, bait buckets, kayak, snorkeling/diver down flag, beach umbrella/blanket, board games & dominoes
-Nice clean & heated pool(s) & lagoon w/fish was just steps f/unit where I could watch the kids f/lanai
-Space was limited (but free) in the boat yard. We always found a spot for our 18ft Robalo & launching f/their boat ramp was easy (watch low tide)!
-Location was great for getting the boat out quickly to the Pennekamp reefs/wrecks (GORGEOUS & CLEAR water to 26ft+) & it was also wonderful for walking to a few restaurants (Pilot House, Key Largo Fisheries Backyard Cafe) & Dolphins Plus Marine Mammal Responder-our kids swam w/the dolphins there. Walgreens, Family Dollar & a few other stores & restaurants are about 1mi+
-Parking at unit is tight, but we fit our F150 between the golf cart & the neighbor's SUV w/o a problem
-No ceiling fans in BRs, only 1 box fan, recommended oscillating fan to owner
Overall, a great stay, we recommend it & will try to re-book for our next stay in Key Largo!

This was our 2nd spring break at Kawama Yacht Club, 2 couples with 14 and 15 year old boys. The condo was perfect with a great location near the lagoon beach and pool. This is a perfect place for a quiet, more mature vacation with no rowdy crowds and is more natural than commercial. Walking distance to Key Largo Fisheries, easy day trips to Bahia Honda, Islamorada, Everglades, snorkeling, even caught a Marlins game and got back in time to catch the sunset.

Great property. Our second stay at Kawama and we loved it. Lots of friendly people. The screened-in porch overlooks the lagoon, and the pool is less than 100 feet away. Centrally located between Key Largo and Islamorada. Perfect location. Tons of great restaurants...a few within walking distance. Will definitely visit again. Thank you Jorge!

This place had absolutely everything we needed. We had one infant, a few adults and our grandma. So finding a rental to accommodate everyone was somewhat challenging. This rental had a golf cart for grandma and a nice pool for the baby. We also enjoyed snorkeling in the salt water lagoon and saw lots of interesting fish. The jetty was also incredible for both sunsets and stargazing.
If we ever get back down this way, we will be looking to stay here again!

I'm hesitant to complain about a stay in beautiful Key Largo and especially since we usually enjoy this set of places very much. Location is great. The lagoon and screened porch delightful. Beds comfortable.
That said, this particular unit was not exactly as it was advertised. For example, if we had wanted to use either patio it would have required some extensive pick up and cleaning to make it enjoyable. In general, the unit wasn't very clean and in need of some basic repairs. Bikes were not rideable without a call to the owner. Lizard droppings on floors and in one bed. Several little annoyances that added up to just an ok review.

Kawama Club is a great place to stay with many amenities. Jorge's unit is in a great location and was just as described. The golf cart was certainly a plus. Communications with Jorge were great and he responded right away. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back and visit again.

The bedroom with 2 sets of bunkbeds was great for our kids who dont want to sleep in the same bed. We traveled with our 13 and 20 year old kids who both love fish, swimming, kayaking and all things water. We brought 2 kayaks but loved being able to also use the kayak that was at the condo, and we loved using the golf cart to travel to the jetty to fish. We especially loved snorkeling in the lagoon which was teeming with fish. We spent a ton of time just snapping the townhouse an amenities of the Kawama community. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Excellent communication with the owner. Would rent again.

Cons:
1. Parking was an issue the whole time. Even with 2 assigned spots per the listing, the neighbor seemed to have an issue with us parking 2 vehicles because they needed to charge their golf cart extremely close to our 2nd spot. Our truck seemed to be in their way.
2. Bikes need a tune up... both had flat tires.
3. Mattresses were older and incredibly firm. Some of the pillows were stained and yucky looking when we stripped them.
4. The balcony off the front bedroom has so much potential for an awesome place to spend some time and watch the sunset!!! However, the railing was not secure, rotted in several places, and there was some old beer bottles and a boat awning that need to be relocated.
Pros:
1. Boat ramp, pools, fire pit on beach, and snorkeling on the point...all awesome!
2. Location was great for us as we had most of our plans in Tavernier or Islamorada.
3. Plenty of kitchen supplies, except for garbage bags. Had to leave the can without one upon checkout as we couldn't find any and didn't have time to buy any as we were leaving the unit. Plenty of dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc.
4. We didn't use it, but the fact that there was an option to grill on the front porch was great!
5. Loved having cable in the rooms, in addition to the living area.
6. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was amazing!
Overall, for the amount of time we actually spent there, it served the purpose. My mom and husband we pleased with the unit and we would more then likely stay again.

Laid Back Visit to the Keys
We enjoyed our first visit to the Keys, and the property. We were close to the lagoon and pool. Spent our mornings on the patio watching the animals and people. Jorge was easy to communicate with and answered all my questions. Check in and out was simple. And the property had everything needed.

The porch on the road could stand to have some of the unused things like the bikes and boxes removed, a good cleaning and also replace the address marker which is currently written on notebook paper. I would have liked to be able to hang my clothes in the closets, we were there for a wedding and needed to hang up dresses etc, but the closets are full of toys and junk. We did have most everything we needed, but the place could use a little TLC. In my opinion it would help with getting guests to rebook because the owner is great to deal with.

Good overall, few ideas for improvement
Our trip went well and the location is great. The items in listing are not complaints, but suggestions to be even better.
There is a lot of later furniture taking up real estate downstairs. For example, the cabinet next to the futon, takes up a good amount of room when there is already a large table right there. I didn't look in it, but it did make moving around downstairs a bit awkward.
There were a lot of plates and glasses, but we only found one bowl. I'd consider adding another 4-5.
I was able to find more toilet paper but had to look for a while to find it. Maybe a few rolls kept in sight of the toilets would be good.
Kids liked the kayak, would just suggest a kayak paddle, can even be a cheap one. We were able to borrow one from a neighbor which was great.
Golf cart was great. The parking brake stopped working the second to last day, but I'm guessing it's just a typical maintenance item. Owner responded right away when I told him about it, so I have no question that it will be fixed timely.
Potentially add a few more kids DVDs to the collection up in the bunk bed room. Not a deal killer, but would be a little extra nice to have during those wind down times after a long day of running around the keys.
I would also update the checkout instructions on the fridge. The maid was pleasant to talk to on the phone, but she told me that laundry didn't need to be taken to tower H, but the instructions on the fridge say to do so. Would probably be worth a quick rewrite.
Again, a good trip overall. Thank you for your hospitality.

Our first time to key largo and this was a great location! The rental was clean, but very dated in looks/decor (if that matters to you). The parking is VERY tight! It was nice to be so close to one of the pools. Kitchen is packed with anything you might need.
