About this house rental
Nestled in Cahuita, this charming house for $101 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house 150 m from Playa Negra, Cahuita. Casa Verde boasts a lush garden and hammock area. Ground floor has one bedroom with double bed, bathroom, Kitchen area and living room. Each area has its own ceiling fan. and is designed to take advantage of the ocean breeze. An open wooden staircase leads upstairs to the king bedded master bedroom and ensuite. The Master Bedroom is very spacious and your can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Casa Verde is not suitable for children under 12 years old. Pets are not accepted Casa Verde has excellent internet service and secure off street parking. There is a caretaker who lives in an apartment at the back of the house. The apartment has a separate entrance from the street. Local tours can be organized as can more extensive touring of Costa Rica. Casa Verde is walking distance to Playa Negra, Cahuita National Park and the village of Cahuita. with its choice of restaurants and bars. There are also several yoga studios offering classes in beautiful, natural surroundings.. Private transport can be arrangement from San Jose Airport to Cahuita or you can take the public bus from Central San Jose. The Public bus runs 5 times a day. Cahuita offers a very laid back way of life with Reggae music coming from the bars and restaurants and a real It has the amazing combination of wildlife, relaxation and good food. Great spot located on a quiet road just up from the beach. 1/2 way between reggae bar and the actual "downtown". We had a great time.

Casa Verde is the best location in Cahuita for everything you plan on doing - beach is 3 minute walk, surfing lessons are 300 meters north, and then the Reggae Bar and Chao's Restaurant is another 500 meters north of that!
If you go south on the beach road, you can walk 5 minutes to be downtown for more restaurants and shopping. Cahuita National Park is just a little further on main street through Cahuita. Absolutely beautiful.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful if you are not too familiar with Spanish. Do not worry. They will help you.
Annie is very responsive and helpful. Do not hesitate to contact her for anything.

Casa Verde was exactly what we were looking for..quiet & beauty. The home was clean & welcoming. The spacious master bedroom had A/C & a comfortable king bed facing a small balcony overlooking a garden area. We love to cook & this kitchen came well equipped - from a coffee maker, cheese graters, assortment of pots and pans and even a blender. (If you like fresh fresh, there is a great fish market in Puerto Viejo). There are several small grocery stores, bakeries, butcher shop & a Sunday morning farmer’s market in Cahuita . There was no shortage of fabulous places to eat with true Caribbean flavours…pasta, sushi, chicken, fish and some of the best pizza.
The outdoor space under a covered patio was our favourite spot to enjoy an early morning coffee while listening to the howler monkeys, and the variety of birds & their songs. We seen toucans, Mealy parrots, hummingbirds, Social Flycatchers, & even one very large iguana..all from our courtyard.
Casa Verde is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach where a sunrise can be enjoyed and if lucky enough, find a beautiful sand dollar.
We loved our stay here and would highly recommend Casa Verde to anyone wanting a good base while exploring beautiful Cahuita and surrounding areas.

Casa Verde was lovely and Annie was an amazing host. The house was cute and had what we needed, and the grounds were amazing. We saw Monkeys, Sloths, and Toucans almost daily. The property is convenient to restaurants and the downtown of Cahuita is an easy 7 minute walk. Such a wonderful trip, we hope to be back!

We stayed a couple of nights @ casa verde before venturing further south to meet up with the remainder of our group. We loved the atmosphere, tranquility, close proximity to beach and town. Most of all we enjoyed Annie’s hospitality and expertise in what to enjoy nearby.
My husband and I were thrilled to enjoy Annie’s place and the surroundings. We definitely enjoyed getting to know Annie and definitely plan on making Costa Rica one of our vacation destinations!

There is so much to say about this wonderful experience . Imagine arriving to your host waiting outside of a beautiful wooden gate lush greens all around The VRBO description does not even do this place justice . super beautiful, comfortable , a screaming monkey family can be heard from the trees, and yes we named them and took photos of not only them but toucans as well, a 2 minute walk to restaurants, watching the ocean as you enjoy a meal , cross the road and a beautiful dark sand beach, with water so warm , it's like taking a bath. . The hostess is one of the warmest persons you will ever meet. We loved it and will definitely return to see Annie and Cahuita!

Our first ever 2 week vacation was spent here, and we loved it! Annie is the best host. She is also a travel agent and helped us plan some excursions. Although she lives in the apartment/duplex behind the house, she has her own personal entrance to the back yard so you never see or hear her.
We loved drinking coffee outside every morning. We loved listening to the waves crash against the shore. We loved walking to the beach to swim every day. We loved how close the restaurants and bars were. We loved walking into Cahuita for shopping and more restaurants. We loved how friendly everyone was. We loved seeing the monkeys, sloths, birds, butterflies, flowers, and trees that were different from our norm.
Casa Verde was clean and efficient. The kitchen had a stove/oven but we didn't use it. It had a toaster oven that we used often. It could have used a microwave for ease, but honestly the toaster oven was just fine. The kitchen was stocked with cookware, serving pieces, storage containers, etc. The refrigerator was cold and the freezer had ice trays for ice.. The king sized bed was comfy. The bedroom a/c cooled the room down quickly.

My family and I were happy with our stay at Annie's place during our trip to Cahuita. The house was clean, well-appointed, and only a short walk from the beach. There are many restaurants and bars within 5-10min walk.
The AC in the upstairs bedroom was a lifesaver since we're not used to the humidity on the Caribbean coast of CR. The downstairs bedroom has only a fan.
If you happen to visit during a local holiday, make sure to pack some earplugs as the house has no window glass, and the downside of the central location is that you can hear all the parties around you.

Anne’s “Casa Verde” was a perfect home base for an amazing few days on the Caribbean. Close to town, right next to a beach, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful scenery. We saw monkeys daily from the casa. Highly recommend staying here. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

She was always available to assist with any excursions, she even booked an inn in sam Jose for us when our flight got changed. She also booked our car rental. Hammocks, the sound of waves, just a couple minutes (literally) from the beach by foot. What more could you want? The host was exceptionally helpful and really made our trip a breeze with recommendations and assistance.

Awesome getaway location! A must visit
I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Perfectly situated in a quiet beachside town that has plenty of Beach and Nature to enjoy, without use of a car. Each is 150 meters away, multiple restaurants a short 400 - 900 meters away, and National Park just over 1 km. (Or 200 meters after a great breakfast at Soda Kawe). The house itself is beautiful with great use of natural woods, and an outdoor patio that is well worth “the price of admission “. Daily visits from all kinds of wildlife: Agouti (2), poison dart frogs, howler monkeys, an eagle, and a toucan without leaving the patio. There is also a sloth that frequents the trees out back, but we were touring the beaches, town and National Park too long to catch him. Despite other reviews mentioning the house missing items, we found them all there: beach towels, body soaps, wash cloth’s, toilet paper, fans, coffee filters, cooking oils and some spices. There was even bug spray and sunscreen, plus numerous books on the region’s wildlife and birds! Annie was a great host, who also has a travel agency - she helped us arrange for transportation for our entire month.: 4 different transfers at a price better than what I was finding myself. Great place to chill in Caribbean style!

Only a minute walk to a soft black sand beach and 10 minute walk to the village of Cahuita with coffee shops and good restaurants. I spent three very enjoyable weeks there, with perfect weather every day (it rained often at night). The owner and manager were instantly responsive and helpful. Cahuita also has a very interesting national park and beautiful beaches all within easy walking distance from the distance. There is some fun night life nearby, but don't expect a party town. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place but!
My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay except for one thing. There were no truly comfortable chairs anywhere in the home. There is plenty of room to put them but they just weren't there. Perhaps this is more of an issue as my wife and I are in our early 70's and mid 70's. Aren't as flexible as we used to be.
