About this house rental
Located in Iowa, this attractive house for $425 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Talisman Lodge is 5 minutes to the Galena Territory Owners Club and 15 minutes to Downtown Galena. This home is Dog Friendly, Maximum 2. Come stay at an amazing Galena retreat with modern conveniences featuring a high speed fiber WiFi connection. Our Talisman home is situated on almost an acre with a wooded area to the rear of the property and a horse/walking trail immediately adjacent to the side of the house. The home offers 4 bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 fireplaces. The main level living room has a floor to ceiling limestone wood burning fireplace and flat screen 55" TV. Our large kitchen offers an abundance of natural light, stainless steel appliances and would be a grand place to host your getaway meal. The large, roomy Master Bedroom is located in the upper level of the home and offers a King size bed with a large flat screen tv to lay back and view. The master bath offers a great whirlpool tub and shower with a double sink vanity. The main level features a Queen bedroom with en suite bath. When you enter the lower level you will find the family room where you can relax, play games, or watch movies or the big game on the 55" TV and pool table. The lower level is also home to our other Queen bedroom and then our double twin bedroom. This home features a comfortable screened in porch on the main level w/deck and then a great place to sit on the patio below and look out over the yard. The backyard is also the location of our new fire pit - enjoy! We do allow dogs at our home. Please no more than two pooches at a time during your stay. We will ask you to sign an additional form to allow your pet and there will be an additional $150 pet fee per stay. This is not a deposit and will not be returned. There will be additional fees charged if your pet causes any damage or additional cleaning is necessary due to your pet after your stay. We would love to host you and your dogs! You will have access to the GTA Owners Club while staying with us. The indoor pool is open year-round and the outdoor pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. The club is an exclusive amenity that can be used by only Galena Territory property owners and their guests. The Owners' Club includes an indoor swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool w/slides, a kiddie pool, fitness room, game room, indoor/outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, seasonal snack bar, free WiFi and outdoor playground. Don't forget to visit Lake Galena, The Shenandoah Riding Center and hiking trails throughout the 6,800-acre property. Please remember usage of the amenities is NEVER guaranteed. We do not discount or refund due their closure. When you book a home with us we will require 30% down, this is a payment not a deposit. The full balance is due 14 days prior to check in. If you cancel prior to the 14 days you will receive the first payment less a $35 cancellation fee. At the 14 day mark your stay will become non-refundable and dates cannot be adjusted. Your payments will automatically be processed to the card you place on file at the time of booking. Your rental agreement (sent after booking) will reflect the due dates and amounts. Please NOTE: You will be required to sign an electronic rental agreement at the time of booking, we ask this be signed and filed within 48 hours of receiving to guarantee your reservation. You must be 25 or older at the time of booking and present the entire stay. Our cancellation policy is NOT flexible, we highly recommend travel insurance. Travel insurance is offered at the time of booking and up until 15 days prior to check in. The provider is CSA. Check in details are sent 3 days prior to your arrival to the email on file. This includes the home's address, the access code and other pertinent home/area information. Early check in is never guaranteed and cannot be considered until the night before or morning of your arrival. The check in details will cover this process.

Nice place in a peaceful setting north of Galena- nice trails just outside the door for hiking. Location was a little farther from downtown Galena that we anticipated but that is a very minor thing. Good comfortable house with plenty to do.
Note: Dog-friendly for sure but bring some gates if you want to keep them on a certain floor of the house!

The property was great! If we could’ve stayed longer we would have! Everything was in pretty great shape and the management was very responsive and accommodating! The only thing I would change is the couch in the lower game room. It’s not terrible, but it’s been well loved in the house and is probably due for an upgrade in the near future. There is a 100% chance that we would book again!

Excellent rental for our family of 7! Great quiet street, plenty of space, and super clean! We enjoyed a perfect working hot tub and used the comfortable screen house the most. Beds and linens were comfy and plenty of accessories in the kitchen made things easy. It's easy to see how well the owners of this rental care for their home and guests. Not a criticism but merely a suggestion would be for some non slip grips on the beautiful hardwood stairs and the shower floors. But this rental is a definite gem. Also it was equally wonderful communicating with Linda. She was super helpful and great to work with.

This is the second time we stayed at this property. I highly recommend this house for a large family stay. It's dog friendly. The owners provide lots of extra fun stuff. We did have to call the owners while we were there with a minor issue.. One phone call and somebody came out to fix the problem within hours..Excellent weekend stay.

This is the second year we stayed at this house. Nice setup for three families. Love using the hot tub. Nice that we can bring our dog. Just be aware of the people across the street, they may tell you to not let your dog do anything on their yard (happened to us both years). We always pick up after our dog.

We had a wonderful stay at Talisman. The house had so much room and we loved how every bedroom had a bathroom. Our two little ones loved everything about this home from the fire pit to the screened in porch, even the hot tub. The location was great and the home was perfect.
Con: the cleaning service could have done a better job. There was food still from previous renters left on the table and a few other things that weren’t paid attention to that should have been.

House was very comfortable and laid out nicely. We had four couples and we all had plenty of room with our own bedroom and bathroom. Felt like we were at home.
Roads are very intertwined in this area so have your navigation handy and working, but you get on to the roads fairly easy.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back to this house. The only thing we noticed was one ceiling fan didn't work and the hot tub cover strap was broken and taped. Otherwise a great time and skiing was awesome!!
Thank you to the owners and the management team who made this process very easy. Even took our two small Boston Terriers and they had a ball.

Instead of having a Christmas party, my daycare teachers said they'd rather go to Galena for a couple nights for a staff retreat. We looked at a few different properties but as soon as we saw this one, it was the one everyone wanted. The house was amazing. Spacious but still cozy. We loved the whole feel of the house and took advantage of the Owner's Club and the backyard hot tub. One morning over breakfast we were delighted to see 4 deer coming through! Such a peaceful place to be. All my staff said they would love to visit the same house again in the summer to be able to take advantage of the cute screened porch and the firepit.

This property was perfect for our family and friends getaway. Beautiful, nestled in nature, close to town. Property owner and manager thought of everything! A few things:
-towels provided
-plenty of extra blankets/pillows
-all kitchen tools provided (pots/pans/baking dishes, etc)
-firewood provided for fireplace and outdoor fire pit (however, bring kindling/cardboard/paper bag/firestarters)
-2 fireplaces, one gas, one wood-burning
-hot tub is glorious

This property was amazing, perfect for our family to enjoy and have space and privacy. We were 3 couples with one family of 5, and the layout was perfect for us. Being Momma and the one who booked, My partner and I got the top floor when the king and jacuzzi tub bathroom, private and perfect. Main floor bedroom for my daughter and her husband. Lower level was exactly right for son and his family. They had a bedroom of their own, and the 2 young ones had their own twin beds. Baby girl with Mom and Dad. The common areas were spacious and everything you need, kitchen had tons of dishes, pans, etc. Just bring food, spices, containers if you have leftovers. We got to enjoy the fireplaces, pool table and went swimming at the owner's club one day. Instead of being outside for the firepit as it was cold, we had lovely fires in the woodburning fireplace in the front room. Didn't get to enjoy the hot tub,sadly, but hard to do all you want sometimes with a 3 and 6 yr old who loves to play with you. Next time, as we all loved the property so much, we want to come back. Linda was very responsive when I requested an early arrival to get the party started! We highly recommend this place for family fun with a group like ours or several couples. It's beautiful, clean, and everything you need!! Loved the Talisman Lidge!!

We utilized the house for our annual girls weekend. We were a group of 10 and 6 cars… to which we were thankful for the larger parking area! Many of us had to come/go at different times, but we carpooled when we could. Cellular service was lacking, so the WiFi was used by most. Supplies were ample (linens, kitchen items, products). Driving into town was about 20 minutes through some very windy roads, and our gps seemed to enjoy different routes each time! Bottom line, we lived it and would most definitely stay again!
