About this house rental

Located in South Chatham, this lovely house for $589 per night is a great choice for your next break. *Note: The minimum stay dropped to 3 nights for Jan-March! Other months are still 7 nights as a minimum. The monthly discount rate applies to January through May only* Email any questions - we will respond right away! Easy family "remote work-friendly" living in a beautiful, bright, lovingly-cared for, 4-bedroom beach home! Everything you need for a perfect Cape Escape. Take the wagon for a stroll to stunning views from Ridgevale Beach: cross the walking bridge to the protected tidal pool swim area, or walk past the dunes to swim in Nantucket Sound. The first floor, all hardwood flooring, features an open floor plan for easy socialization and indoor dining at the island counter or the dining table. Plenty of games and seating in the living room, and a more private TV room with a comfortable leather couch is on the other side of the staircase. There is a half-bath on the first floor, and a bedroom with a twin daybed and trundle. Use this room for some privacy to relax reading, or sleep an additional two guests! Escape upstairs to the peaceful en-suite primary bedroom with a walk-in closet, private full bathroom and bright sitting area. Two other bedrooms upstairs feature a double bed and raised twin bunk in one room, and two twins with a comfortable futon in the other. A pretty desk area with a working printer overlooks the stairs for a home office setup. There is also a 3/4 bath upstairs off the hallway. Amenities include central AC (on the second floor only) a dishwasher, washer/dryer, cable TV, high-speed Internet, a BBQ grill, and an outdoor shower. Our private yard is blocked from the street by a gated fence, leaving a side yard for play. The back yard itself has a sitting area with 2 cushioned swing seats, a Solo Stove for toasting marshmallows or enjoying the ambiance in the salty evening air, a grill and full umbrella over a table seating 6. Take an outdoor shower after a day at the beach, and play pick-up sports games in the level back yard. Linens and bath towels are available via the optional Linen Fee (it may automatically fill in, but we can adjust if you choose to bring your own). Beach towels for 6 are always included. Beach wagon, boogie boards, sand toys, and a beach umbrella are also all available to make your vacation easier. A baby cot Pack-and-Play can be left for those with young ones. Puzzles, toys, and games for all ages available for family fun! This is an immensely safe, friendly, and walkable neighborhood full of charming houses and gardens, and a protected cul-de-sac feel given the way the quiet side-streets loop around. Wild rabbits live in the undeveloped land adjacent to our property. Great freshwater kettle ponds (Schoolhouse Pond and Goose Pond) are just a short drive away, and the bike path is less than a mile away. Bike or walk along it to the bikers’ entrance of Short n Sweet Ice Cream, or use the path to access local parks, playground and beaches all the way into town, or go further afield with its connection to other towns along the Cape! Head up Main Street to visit Chatham’s famous shops and restaurants. While we are walkable to Ridgevale Beach, Hardings Beach, Forest Beach, and Cockle Cove Beach are also close by. Staying in this Happy Yellow House will be the easiest vacation you have ever had! Here's a note we received from renters last summer, upon their arrival: "We are all settled and unpacked. What a beautiful home. The pictures online show a very nice house. However, it is much nicer than the pictures! Thank you for the gifts you left. It was very thoughtful of you. We will take good care of your lovely home!" We think it is even nicer than the photos too, and hope you consider this house as perfect for your family vacation as we and others have found it! May and JUNE 2023 Note: Filming for the Netflix MiniSeries "The Perfect Couple" is taking place in Chatham starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson and Jack Reynor...very exciting for our beachside town!

This was the second summer we spent time at the Happy Yellow House and it was truly fantastic! It's a family vacation dream. Well laid out with everything you need, a short walk to the charming Ridgevale Beach and just down the road from the delights of downtown Chatham. Can't wait to return!

Convenient location to Ridgevale Beach (short walk) and quiet neighborhood. Beach carts, umbrella, toys, floating items etc were provided. House is impeccable and the open layout main floor design with upper level hallway loft area (desk and printer provided) are great. The owner is easily reached by phone or text and is very accommodating. Overall excellent experience.

We rented this house primarily as a home base for my husband and his crew of guys while working construction on the Cape. We also used it a couple times for pleasure on the weekend with adult children and dogs. Either way, it was the perfect fit... spacious rooms, comfortable furniture and outdoor areas made for a wonderful getaway. The owner was an absolute pleasure to work with and was very responsive to messages. Would definitely stay here again!

What a great break from all the news and stress of the world. Our only time away in 2020 and we got lots of R&R. We beached, biked, walked and hung out. Our dog loved it too. Gorgeous house and yard. Nice easy walk to beach. We would love to stay again.

This house is perfectly plug and play for a family vacation to the beach. The house is bigger and more beautiful than in the pictures, and the generous property owners provided beach towels and beach toys, so we just had to bring ourselves! House is large and in wonderful shape. It has large common areas and a big backyard, and is a short walk to charming Ridgevale Beach. We can't wait to return!
