Nestled in San Antonio, this charming house for $536 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This peaceful, five-acre gated estate is located in the heart of San Antonio. Hundreds of surrounding oak trees will make you feel like you are in the Texas Hill Country. The estate is family friendly and includes a swimming pool, tennis / pickleball court, basketball court, pool table, bocce ball set and playscape. Whether you are looking for a relaxing retreat or plenty of room to let the kids run, play, and swim, The Ambassador House and its sprawling grounds will fit anyone's needs. A luxurious mid-century modern home with 5,000 square feet, The Ambassador House is the main house on the estate and comfortably sleeps up to 12 persons. An additional 6 people can stay in the guest house (details below). The Ambassador House is beautifully furnished in mid-century modern and transitional style with modern artwork. The master suite includes 1 king bed, coffee bar, sitting area, walk in closet, and private bath. The other 2 bedrooms include 2 queen beds each and a Jack and Jill bath. The study accommodates two more persons on a twin size daybed and a pull out twin bed, and the study has its own full bath. The Ambassador House also includes a formal living area, a dining room with seating for 8, a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast nook for 6, and game room with a TV, bar, and pool table. Every room in the house has sweeping views of natural oak trees and wildlife. Also available for rent on the estate is the Garden House. It is a 1,800 square foot guest house with similar mid-century modern and transitional décor. The Garden House accommodates 6 people, has a spacious living area with a TV, a dinning area that seats 6, and a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom includes 1 king bed and en suite bath, and the guest room includes 1 queen bed and a shared bath. A second living area includes a card table, bar, and queen size sofa bed. The Garden House boasts equally impressive views of the surrounding oaks trees with two calming water features. From the peaceful back deck, you can enjoy a distant view of the San Antonio downtown skyline. A maintenance/grounds keeper, who resides on the estate, will be available to assist in making your stay as comfortable as possible. *The Ambassador and the Garden House rent independently of each other and may be rented to separate, unrelated parties. All renters and residents on the property have access to common areas such as the pool, tennis court, basketball court, and playscape. *Tennis rackets and balls, pickle ball paddles and balls, and basketball are available at the property.

Property was nice place to entertain my three grandsons. We were disappointed with the kitchen. It could use a good cleaning and could use more dishes and some kitchen linens. Edgar was very helpful.

The tennis court and pool were great activities. Comfortable rooms and beds. The house and grounds were fun to explore! The wildlife was amazing - so fun to see the deer, fox, squirrels, and clumsy kittens playing around the yard.

This property was beautiful. You feel like you are out away from the city, but in reality it right in the middle. Everything is so close, and easy to get to but this property had everything needed. I highly recommend.

Family Vacation.
I rented it for my family and my cousins family. The property is beautiful with LOTS of big bucks, does, and fawns that we saw everyday. We enjoyed the pool outside and the pool table. The architecture of the home is really neat. Lots of updates but maintaining some of the original design. Main bedroom is at the opposite end of the house from the living area and is very quiet. It’s just as beautiful in person. The bathroom does face the front of the property where the driveway and garden house are so I wouldn’t enjoy a tub bath with the blinds open. Never had any concerns to talk with the owner or Edgar. He was available if we needed him but we had all the privacy that we needed. I would love to go again and stay longer,

But! It’s pretty rundown. The pool definitely was dirty. Most of us didn’t even swim because it was so merky. Vacuum doesn’t work which is a bummer because critters are around so if you want to clean up the kitchen after cooking… the vacuum isn’t an option. kitchen is not very well stocked with basic cook wear and what is there is very old and looks gross. Bbq didn’t come with bbq cookware so we had to use whatever we could find in the kitchen.
One of 3 lounge chairs at the pool is completely broken.
Ice machine is broken so you’ll have to buy your own.
Overall the house is very cool and looks amazing on the website but it definitely it is very understocked in usable items. Not a lot of extra linens or blankets, the laundry facility is gross and has missing buttons and has a bunch of dead bugs in it… also my pillow after removing the case had a huge dead spider in it.
It accommodated the family but I wouldn’t even consider staying again. Please put some love into the ambassador house! Because it would be top notch if it was just given some love.

Stayed at the property with extended family. Great entertaining space, we really enjoyed the pool table, table games, and the great views. My parents loved the deer that would visit daily while they had coffee. While it sits in the middle of a neighborhood close to everything ….it feels very secluded. Thanks for a great stay.

Beautiful country house in the middle of the city!!!
We loved this house! It’s so beautiful with a family of dear and a fox that seem to live on property! It’s so awesome to see them in the mornings and evenings. The house is very large. It is a bit dated but has everything you could possibly need. The only complaint my family had was that there are only 2 TVs in the house. One in the master bedroom and one in the livingroom. Other than that we had a perfect stay.

Super cool house perfect for families
We loved this house! Stayed for a week of summer camp for my kids. It really has everything you could want for a getaway - pool, tennis courts, pool table, a HUGE yard! We would love to return again next summer. Really, really great VRBO.

The indoor pool table, private pool, and tennis courts kept our family entertained all weekend. There are so many indoor and outdoor chill areas I recommend bringing your yoga mat, and hammock to fully enjoy the amazing yard and watch for the beautiful free roaming deer.

Beautiful and Peaceful!
Beautiful property in the middle of San Antonio. Plenty of space in the house for entertaining. We had deer in the back yard every day and a family of foxes visited one morning. Edgar was very helpful with a minor internet issue and was readily available for any questions. Good communication with the owner as well. The location was excellent with easy access to many attractions, shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

BEST PLACE TO STAY IN SAN ANTONIO!
We absolutely LOVED staying at this property this week! We were here for my sons medical procedure and this property truly felt like home! The pool and tennis court were a blast for our kids and we loved sitting on the patio at night enjoying a relaxing evening. Edgar the property manager was so kind and helpful if we needed anything at all! I will absolutely stay here again and recommend it to all my friends traveling to SA!

Beautiful. Stunning. My family and a few friends stayed here Feb. 20-23, 2020. We could not have been more pleased. The home is gorgeous and the property is incredible. It is more breathtaking than the pictures show. The owner was very attentive and quick to respond to any questions. The on site caretaker was also very polite and helpful. 5 stars doesn’t do this property justice.

perfect location for family gathering
Over the Christmas/New Year period, ten family members ranging from 5 to 80 years old had a most memorable time in this wonderful home and stunning setting of magnificent live oaks. It had everything we could have wished for - just as described on line. The location was perfect with easy access to shopping and places of interest. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, a pleasure to communicate with and very accommodating. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Creating Memories in the Oaks
When looking for a place to stay for our Dad’s 80th Birthday in San Antonio in July we had 2 must haves, a pool and enough space. The property is stunning amongst the oak trees. We rented both houses and had family come in from all around the country to join us. Both houses are very spacious with plenty of areas for people to sleep. If you’re looking for something new and fancy this probably isn’t the place. If you’re looking to create memories that will last a lifetime amongst family and friends this is your spot. It is such a peaceful location yet near anything you need in San Antonio. Working with the owner and the property manager was so easy and they were always quick to respond to any requests or questions. If you have any intentions of having a family gathering in San Antonio this is where you need to stay.

Truly beautiful
I love this property whether it's staying in the small house or the large one. Upon arriving the stunning beautiful oak trees are breath taking. The larger home with it's floor to ceiling windows are wonderful in bringing the outside inside day or night. The bedrooms are very large with comfortable beds and great little sitting areas. The swimming pool had plenty of towels and the tennis court were a lot of fun for the kids and grown ups. We actually spent more time outside than in doors. Kitchen had all the necessary cooking utensils. This house is a great retreat the only reason I gave it 4 stars were some overlooked maintenance that the property needed. I will come back whenever I'm in San Antonio with my family. Thank you.

Stunning 5 acre retreat in the heart of the city!
This historic, beautiful, mid-century modern home is absolutely charming! I've stayed in many vacation rentals and this one feels more like staying with family. Not your standard cold, uninviting guest house. Everything is spread out enough so that, even with a large family retreat, there's always a place to call your own. I've read some reviews that say the kitchen, etc is a bit dated, but that's part of the charm of the house! Gives a glimpse of what life was like in the mid-century Era. The tennis courts are an AWESOME bonus! (racquets and tennis balls are provided!) While it was too cold to swim, the pool is really nice. We loved this property!

Wonderful place for a large group
This house has everything you need! It's comfortable, nicely furnished, spacious and set in a beautiful spot. There is plenty to do on the property including a playscape, basketball hoop, tennis court, pool table, swimming pool when it's warm, and plenty of land to run and play. We cooked family meals, ordered take out and went down to the fun bowling alley/arcade nearby and the River Walk wasn't too far. We mostly wanted to spend time with each other and this was the perfect place to do so!

Beautiful sprawling mid century. Kitchen a little tired. Issues with fridge and ice. Care taker on site. Perfect for our mini family reunion of 12. Would have been nice if pool was heated or a hot tub on site. Would probably stay again. Just minutes from downtown San Antonio and Riverwalk

Wonderful wedding experience
This property is beautiful. It is a gorgeous art deco style home in both houses. The house is spacious and the yard all around is perfect for a wedding or any celebration. We rented both homes for the weekend to house our family and have our wedding and it could not have been more perfect. The care taker and owner worked with us and made our experience perfect. We can't wait to book our next family gathering with them.

Wife's Surprise Birthday Party
The event was scheduled to be held outside. Due to the rain the past 3 weeks, the event was moved inside. There was enough room for the band, dancing, and people to sit an eat inside. Edgar was very helpful in setting up the inside at the last minute and taking care of our needs to ensure the Surprise party was a success. Our friends and relatives had a great time and everyone loved the place. We'll be back!
