Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck. Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #242 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center. Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Our stay was wonderful. The area and grounds were beautiful and it was super easy to get to the beach. My husband is disabled and this was a huge plus. The unit was what was advertised. We loved it being on the ground floor with no steps to climb. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the tv with Netflix options was a plus we do not get to enjoy this amenity at home. The front desk was very helpful and courteous.
The only observations that may need attention are the shower pressure and drain. The pressure was low and the drain didn’t want to work very well. We made it fine but it might be an area to consider looking into. It might be good to have a few more utensils in the kitchen as well as a noodle ladle.

Everything was very nice. Our only problem was the sliding glass door was open when we checked in, and was hard to close. We had a heck of a time locking it. Otherwise, nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Would recommend.

This property has a spectacular location, very accessible to walk from your unit right to the beach. They have chairs and beach toys for there guests, and a shower to rinse off after a long day on the beach. The pool is quite large, and kept up well. The property is in a great location, close to shopping and many restaurants, but far enough for a peaceful retreat. Each unit has a screened in porch, so at night the bugs dont bother you. They even supply a drying rack for wet suits and towels. Our unit was very clean and had everything we would need for a weeks stay. I will come back here again !!

Great place, just need more in the kitchen and let people leave spices for all to use. A fan on the patio would be great too. Wish they would have umbrellas set up on the beach for guests, ours kept falling over. For sure coming back.

great destination. great accommodations. mid-key makes it idea. good restaurants nearby so no need to get in line to go up to AMI. only ask, reconsider decking material on the stairs going down to the beach. unbearable to walk on barefoot when the sun is hitting it.

The check in was quick and easy, provided us with nice map and outline of property. The pool close the beach access was amazing! Although there was a little red tide that didn’t slow us down. We rented a couple of bikes and just hopped down to some public beaches where it wasn’t as bad. We were able to keep them secure on our linai that made evenings enjoyable as well. We will be returning to this place in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at the Silver Sands. Our bathroom plumbing had a few issues but we got it taken care of quickly. The kitchen was not very well equipped for the cooking we did for the week. Margaret, at the front desk, was very helpful and accommodating. We really appreciated her helpfulness. We thought the location was ideal and would stay again.

Stayed for a week and overall it was great but the cleaning crew could do a better job though, which is why I can't give a 5 star review.
Margaret at the front desk was fantastic, so helpful and friendly.
The pool area and beach were perfect and having access to bikes at Cedars was a plus.
We ate at Harry's, Blu Kouzina, Cafe L'Europe and Mar Vista. Highly recommend them all.

We had a wonderful relaxing time at the HEATED pool and beach. My husband and I are retired but watch our grandkids. We ended up sharing this vacation with our 5-year-old granddaughter who is still in preschool. Grandpa and Grandaughter must have stayed in the pool 12 hrs a day. The condo we stayed in was updated but it could use a few more items for cooking. The refrigerator was an eyesore, but it worked great. The property's mgmt was 100 percent positive and VERY friendly and professional. Would recommend and stay here again.

Nice vacation rental with pool and beach access. Needs some maintenance though - fridge is rusted, microwave doesn’t rotate, dish washer and bath fan sound like freight trains. Back door to lanai doesn’t lock so have to walk around. Shower faucet handle getting ready to fall off. Various dings and scratches. Bed was squeaky.

We absolutely loved the condo, it was the perfect location, perfect size for us. The pool was right out our door, the beach was a short walk down the property with pool chairs and umbrellas available for guests. We will definitely be back.

The location is great and the unit was clean and nicely decorated but the beach is not at all accessible by a wheelchair. There’s a set of stairs that could be ramped or a sand path. We had to carry the person in their chair which is not safe. The pool was nice and well maintained and accessible.

We've stayed in this room now 3 times. The update to the room this year was great. The new paint and furniture made the place so much nicer. We loved it! Our only complaint I the appliances. The toaster went out in day 2 and there were very few dishes in the room.

We absolutely loved our stay. The unit was clean, we LOVED the resort atmosphere, the easy steps to the water, the sea turtles, the bike trails, and easy access to delicious to local restaurants. We definitely will come back! The remaining comments are meant to be constructive because our stay was lovely! Sleeper sofa is pretty bad. It desperately needs a new matress. Master bed is VERY comfortable. Fort he $$ of the rental, please updte the refrigerator. The ice box decides when it does and does not want to work. The whole refrigerator shows rust. Also, please spend $5.00 or less on a shower curtain liner that isn't yellow with age (or whatever it is).

Memorial Day getaway
Very nice place and great location! I would say the kitchen could use a few more items such as serving bowls. And the patio view would be greatly improved if the shrubs around the pool were trimmed down a bit so you could see the pool and beyond to the beautiful beach!

A great beach-side stay
We only spent 2 nights but it was so relaxing. The beach here is excellent and I say that as a Florida native. The area is not heavily populated and there is no public parking nearby, so it feels almost like a private beach. We wanted a quiet, restful weekend of sun and swimming and that is exactly what we got.
There are good places to eat all around the key. Sarasota and the Ringling Museum are just 25 minutes away. We wanted to stay longer!

We were told it was an impromptu event and it would only be an hour. The attitude of the property manager was less than helpful. Other than that the rest of the stay was very pleasant.

We had a great time. The only two things I would change is the sofa and carpet are not sofa fabric. You have to wear socks and also cover the sofa with a blanket to enjoy. Other than that, everything was great. Location, view, size, accommodations..... Great!
