Our second visit to this lovely place - it feels like a treat to be allowed to stay in such a relaxed and beautiful historic place. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, the grounds are fantastic and Tobias is the perfect host. Attentive and friendly. To find somewhere so special that is dog friendly is wonderful

Fascinating place - castle being lovingly restored. Host very accommodating when we arrived a bit early. Loved the four poster bed and spacious room. Nice to walk round the grounds and near the river. Enjoyed seeing the belted Galloway cows on the way in.
Turn in and out of the main road a little tricky. Not really possible to walk to dalbeattie safely unless we missed a path but quick in a car anyway.

Decorated beautifully and in such a lovely, peaceful place. The room was like stepping back into royal life. The owner was extremely helpful and could not do enough for us. The grounds were beautiful and so quiet. Had such a wonderful night playing cards with a sherry and a fire. The breakfast was delicious and the great hall very picturesque to start the day. The hot tub is also a n excellent bonus.

Room comfortable on ground floor adjacent to the genuine manorial castle. Jost told me of longstandin family history.
I found it a bit tricky to find on the map, but locals helped me with details Otherwise excellent personal service was given
