Silence
The view on the lake was spectacular. This cottage allowed us to really get away from it all. With nature all around we were able to recharge our batteries and fill up on silence.
No wifi and poor phone service.

Sunrise Pines Family Holiday
We loved our stay at Sunrise Pines. It was so peaceful and quiet. We were able to unwind and relax. We saw the eagle, loons, turtle, frogs. My sons learned how to canoe on their own, went fishing and caught a few fish. We explored Keji and went to Carter’s beach. Danced under the stars. Watched the moon rise. It was a magical vacation.

It was an ok stay
It was a beautiful spot. The cottage was beautiful. Quiet and relaxing.
Could not actually swim (the lake full of lily pads/ eel grass), no air conditioner (the heat was horrible), had to pay for the wifi, had to strip the beds; clean the fridge; clean the towels; empty the garbage and sweep (even though we pay a $200 cleaning fee), THEY HAD MICE!!! (Actually running around on the deck and in the cottage), lawn wasn’t mowed (was up to our knees), there is no welcoming package like stated in the advertisement on here, there is no golfing or hiking on the property like advertised on here. Otherwise it was ok

Exceptional
It was great on a lake(with fish to catch), very clean cottage. Also very private, with no one around and only the noise of the trees and loons.
NOTHING!!!

Rude Host. Unclean.
The location and views are breathtaking and peace and quiet beautiful. The hosts supply their canoe for guests use which my husband and children really enjoyed.
The cabin was lovely but wasn't clean. For the cost, we would have expected that. Oven gloves and tea towels soiled and caked in food, lots of dust and the kitchen was dirty. Towels were old, thread bear and insufficient for a 3 night stay. We contacted the owner through booking.com who sadly was argumentative and accusatory. They requested time stamped photographs of the issues which I was able to provide. The cleaning fee is in addition to the quite pricey nightly fee which is why we initially contacted the owners as we felt the cost of cleaning when it wasn't cleaned for us was unfair. The owners have now blocked contact and are seeking legal advice against us, their guests. A family of 4 with small children who were looking to enjoy a bit of time away and simply contacted them to discuss the issues. The cabin is set up for German guests but due to Covid Canadians have been invited to book the space. I feel the owner has taken issue with this. Very sad way to end some wonderful family memories. Future guests please see all additional charges and be aware you will be required to sign a tenancy lease and injury waivers when you arrive.

My stay was spectacular, my wife and I loved the location and plan to return in the future.
I liked the beautiful scenery, and seclusion. As well, we were able to see lots of wildlife during our stay which was very exciting. Plus, the onsite canoe was an excellent way to explore Shingle Lake. My wife and I had not canoed any many years, but once we got paddling we quickly remembered how fun canoeing was in the past.
That we had to leave so soon. We plan to come back and stay longer. Other then that, once stay was fantastic, we had lots of fun.
