Mario gave us a very warm welcome. After a short refreshment he gave us a tour of his property. Mario has really created his own little oasis in the middle of a pleasant neighborhood in Somerset West. In the service, furnishings and design of his property, you can see Mario's attention to detail and passion for making his guests' time enjoyable and carefree. We stayed with mario at the end of our stay in South Africa and would have liked to stay longer than just 2 days. We felt completely at home, from the choice of pillows, to the assistance with dinner planning, to the breakfast, which is a true art and a great treat, both inside and outside location. Eggs from his own farm, and a fruit salad with more than 15 fruits, insane! The cottages are absolutely cozy in a family atmosphere.
We therefore make a heartfelt recommendation for Mario and his Villa Adalbert and definitely come again.

Absolutely everything. This was an exceptional stay. Mario is so friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much for him. He is an excellent host. The house and rooms and the gardens are so beautiful!!! Attention to detail is outstanding. Pure luxury! Breakfast scrumptious and the presentation top class. Even the chickens have 5 star accommodation.

A superb experience from start to finish. Mario was a very thoughtful and attentive host, who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We enjoyed another unforgettable stay at Villa Adalbert. Here you enter a beautiful place, and you just feel like coming home, being spoiled by the most passionate and exceptional host Mario. He cares for everything and nothing is too much for him. Breakfast is served on special places in the garden which you can choose and Mario is serving you a breakfast you will never forget. He pays attention to every details. This place is paradise. We definitely will be back. Thank you Mario for all your help and generosity.

We travel a lot and Villa Adalbert is one of the most neat and clean establishments that we ever stayed at.
Mario is a very pleasant host. He knows the nearby wine farms well and offered many tips on what to see and do.
I can just confirm what other reviews already say - we had a very delicious breakfast with many options to choose from - excellent hot and cold breakfast choices. We will definitely stay again when in the area - it is a great choice for accommodation in Somerset West, close to the Strand and even close enough to Stellenbosch.
The garden is also lovely and well taken care of.

It was our third time at Villa Adalbert so we already knew what to expect. But yet again we were overwhelmed by the beauty of this house and the hospitality of Mario. Every little detail of this place is kept to perfection and spotlessly clean! The room and bathroom are decorated with loads of style and taste and we found everything you might want from that carafe of sherry on the side table to the pocket umbrella for the very rare Capetonian shower! The garden is a provencal dream come true with its hedges and lavender and we absolutely loved that intense scent of Jasmin in one corner at night.
The breakfast is absolutely unrivaled and you choose when and where to have it served. We found a piece of decoration art on our plates every morning!
Mario keeps his business small enough to be able to pay close and personal attention to every single visitor himself and does it with utmost friendliness and professionally. One notices immediately that he loves what he's doing and that shows throughout.

A place where time stops. Wonderful gardens, wonderful hosts, wonderful breakfast places, indeed wonderful is the word to describe Villa Adalbert.
The breakfast, tasty, colorful, different every day. Made with care. Room is spacious, with a huge bed that has really comfortable mattress, and also there are multiple types of pillows
from which you can pick so that your sleep is perfect. Design, you can see the pictures. Everything is really clean inside and outside.
On the small terrace in front of the room there is a relaxing hammock.
I am really pleased with what I found here and I truly recommend.

Extraordinary place, where I’ve been warmly welcomed by Mario, the property\s manager. The whole property is stunning, an oasis of green and tranquility. I wish I would have spent more time in their beautiful gardens.
My room was super spacious, everying very qualitative and nicely decorated. You can ask for a specific type of pillow and this was a big plus for me, because I am very picky about it and I cannot sleep good if it s not comfortable enough. I had the sweetest sleep of all :) .
The pictures are saying more than what I can describe. The best experience I have ever had.

The stay at this guesthouse was wonderful and did stroke my soul. The owner has an exceptional sense of letting you feel welcomed, at home. Thousands of details are looked for, cared for and the whole place is in an excellent condition, garden, pool, suites. It is a feeling like being in paradise. The breakfast is so delicious and looks like a painting of an artist. I want to go back as soon as possible.

Mario did everything possible to make our stay perfect from check in to check out. Welcome drink individually prepared, guided tour of the property, exceptional neat and comfortable property, manicured gardens with so many options to relax in and the quality of service and accomodation were of the highest standards! Sparkling clean, unbelievable attention to detail, superb interior decor, great eye for design, friendly & efficient staff. The breakfast was the best comprehensive and scrumptious we ever had, and was presented as would be in a 5 star restaurant. So much so that we wondered whether Mario is a professional chef. In every way our expectations were exceeded and we wished we could have stayed longer.
Will definitely be back and we would highly recommend a stay at Villa Adalbert!

This property did exceed my expectations. I stayed in the lavender room (there are two more, completely different in style and taste). Cleanliness to the highest standards, attention to any little detail and best maintained garden ever. Also, best breakfast ever (do try poached eggs..) served where you want in one of the beautiful spots around the villa, some of them in the middle of garden. Classy swimming pool with the most comfortable sun beds I’ve tried, you can easily fall asleep after 1 minute. Last but not least: the owner (Mario) went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and helped on anything - I do mean anything. The all place is truly speechless and beyond the most demanding expectation.

I don't even know what to write about first, since this place is perfect and you will notice everywhere the attention given to every single detail.
The rooms are really well arranged, spacious, extremely clean, with a really nice and pleasant design. People say that the best place to sleep is you home, but boy oh boy, here are some reaaaaally big and comfortable beds.
Breakfast: delicious, delicious, delicious and very instagrammable :) .
In the breathtaking gardens you can have breakfast, you can swim or just relax and enjoy the birds chirping.
This place has it all and I’m really happy that I have discovered it!

The owner Mario is passionate about his business, and it shows in every minute detail of the accommodation, gardens, exquisite rooms, furnishings and breakfasts. A wonderful long weekend experience which made our stay all the better at this lovely guesthouse. We were warmly welcomed and pampered by Mario, the owner of the Villa Adalbert. His place is absolutely amazing and unique, just like a royal palace.
The breakfast was first of all fresh, with eggs from their own chicken, very tasty and very good looking.
Everything is high quality, from furniture to food and service.
We were impressed by the gardens, which are like a green sanctuary surrounding the whole property, perfectly maintained. They are looking out of a magazine.
We were feeling blessed to be able to stop for a while and enjoy the silence in the gardens.
The shared spaces are very interesting organized, there is a place matching every mood or season :).
You can see and feel the perfectionism of Mario in everything.
Simply the best I’ve seen and experienced in my life.
