Amazing Jungle Tree House right over the river with bikes and canoe
About this house rental
Situated in Belize District, this charming house for $118 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. "You will not be disappointed -- in fact you will be blown away when you stay at Howler House." Howler House is a gold standard accommodation listed under the business name of Rock and Reggae. The House sits high in the jungle canopy over the Belize river just 20 mins from the airport. This is an off the beaten track experience in a unique and friendly village undiscovered by travellers yet central to everything. If you want to experience the local Belize and make some new friends, Kenny and Shana will pick you up and show you all Belize has to offer the curious visitor. Or, I can assist with a rental. This sweet little tree house sits in the jungle canopy perched high on the edge of the Belize River. With Howler monkey families in the trees, crocodiles in the pond, butterflies and songbirds in the air, this is a unique piece of jungle paradise that offers you an amazing holiday destination. We have a canoe and two bicycles for you. The Howler House is just a short 5 min drive or 15 min walk down a lovely village road to the Black Orchid resort where you are always welcome to enjoy their SWIMMING POOL and fantastic restaurant. The house has HIGH SPEED WIRELESS internet with and is NETFLIX enabled. The bedroom has a majestic view over the river and a new queen size bed. The main bathroom has a shower with HOT WATER - no tub. The little bedroom sits off the screened in deck with a single bed and hooks for hammocks. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, fridge and double sinks and dishes and pots and pans and bowls enough to enjoy cooking. As well, ALL your transportation needs can be taken care of - if required. The international airport is just 20 min from the House and Kenny and Shana will pick you up, take you shopping for supplies and give you a tour of the village and check you into the house, they also provide transportation ANYWHERE you might want to explore while in Belize -- and fill you full of local knowledge. Touring with Kenny will show you how to really experience what Belize has to offer the curious visitor. If you want to use Kenny's services, I will provide you with his email and you can make arrangements with Kenny. The village of Burrell Boom is wonderfully central to Mayan ruins, caves, zip-lining, horse-back riding, the zoo, and a good day trip to Hopkins beach -- which is a unique Garifuna village, remarkable diving sites and ocean fishing are also a day trip away. I can help you arrange transportation and/or tours to any part of the country you may dream of exploring. While the house is a perfect romantic getaway for two, if you want to bring along family or friends, they are welcome to hang hammocks on the two screened in decks and make use of an extra single bed on the outside screened in deck. I ask for an addition $25 per night for an extra guest. The outside deck is huge, and you will probably spend most of your time there. While the Howler House is nestled on the riverbank high in the canopy and you feel like you are deep in the jungle — really, it is just a 10 -minute walk up to the sweetest little village. If you are using his transportation services Kenny will be happy to give you a little tour of the village. But, most convenient, the Howler House is located centrally to all the activities you might want to enjoy while in Belize. In the village you can paddle the river, go fishing and bicycling, the wildlife is amazing - birdwatchers are in heaven here; the Howler Monkeys live in the trees above us. Star-gazing and sipping on local wines is magical. Close to home, there is a grocery store that sells local wines, rum and cold beer and a few groceries. And, the village pub, a short walk or bicycle ride away, serves ice cold beers, homemade juicy hamburgers and a delicious fried chicken or fish dinner for five bucks at Miss Carol's.They also have a pool table if you want to hang around and meet some very sweet locals and perhaps hear a good story or two. There is also a great Chinese Food restaurant in the village. And, people are soooo friendly here, if you want to, you'll make friends with the locals with ease. On Friday evenings people gather in the park to watch the teenagers play soccer and they have music and snacks and cold drinks for sale. Later, if you are a night owl, there is always dancing at Henderson's Bank on Friday and Saturday nights, just a 5 min walk away. And, there is a huge horse race track, with races on Sundays and Holidays - people come from all over for the races -- it's exciting. A wonderful day (or overnight) trip from the house is to Cay Caulker, 90 minutes away via Belize City. You can arrange a drive with Kenny, catch the early ferry (45 mins) and spend a day exploring the Cay, or take one of the many snorkeling, diving, sailing or kayaking tours, and be back in time for dinner. Or, if you'd like to spend more time on the island, spend a night and Kenny will pick you up the next day. We can help with arranging accommodations for you too. If you want help with travel arrangements to Belize, just let me know. Or, you may choose to just spend your time of the Howler House deck where you can take amazing photographs, bird-watch, wait for the crocodile(s) to surface and perhaps sun themselves on the bank, get to know the howler monkeys (they like Reggie music), sit still and a Blue Morpho butterfly with an 8-inch wingspan will eventually float by. Play the stock market on-line on high-speed Wi-Fi. Lie under a gentle fan, swing in the hammock and read a good book. Write a poem, a song, a book or a blog. Watch the sun rise and the river float by, caste a line and catch a fish – yes, right from the deck when the river is flooding. Here is my favourite Review so far: "We spent the most unbelievable three nights at the Howler House. It was an experience to remember! The jungle setting was absolutely perfect. If you're looking for peace and quiet with only the sounds of the jungle, this is the place for you. We were picked up at the airport by a friend of Kenny's (the usual driver), Micha. WHAT A GUY!!! Micha really went out of his way to ensure that we got everything that we needed before dropping us off at the Howler House. We stopped at a grocery store on the way to the house. Make a list before hand if you can. It's a huge store! We picked up dish soap, coffee filters and toilet paper but they were not needed, so don't pick them up as they are provided. Eggs, bacon, bread and butter were all available at the store. We made breakfast everyday and enjoyed it on the screened in porch. There really is everything that you need to cook anything at the house. The canoe was a great added bonus. We took it out twice, fished a little and saw the Howler's in the trees! The bikes were also key. We took a ride through Burell Boom (sweetest little town), had fried chicken, (the best fries) and beer at Miss Carol's and spent an afternoon at the swimming pool at the Black Orchid. Fantastic drinks and we had the pool and hammocks all to ourselves. Kenny took us out for a half day trip to Bacab Eco Park. About 15 minutes from the Howler House. There we went on an hour long horseback ride through the jungle, spent a few hours at the pool and went for a stroll through the Medicinal Trail ($80.00 US each). They had delicious cheeseburgers and the drinks were also tasty (additional cost)! Take bug spray. I did get a few big fly bites. Mosquitos don't come out until about 6:00PM and are gone by 6:30PM-7:00PM. Hang out in the screened in porch during this time and they won't get to you! We did not have any issues with bugs in the house. Simply allow the doors to close behind you :-). The shower was one of my favourite parts of the house! Wide open and overlooking the jungle. It feels as though you are outside. We loved the Howler House, it made our trip! We've already recommended it to many friends and family members! Thank you Erika, Kenny, Shana & Micha!"

The hosts of this property are very friendly. They helped us with every aspect of our time with them.
We went on a baboon sactuary tour which was amazing. Overall the property was perfect. Quiet and peaceful.
We got a visit from an iguana and the howler monkeys were off in a distance. We had toucans right at the property. Beds were comfortable and we all slept like babies.

We had a wonderful stay at the Howler House. The hosts Kenny and Shanna are wonderful and quick to reply to any messages.
We came during the shoulder season so we did get two days of rain but we expected that might happen. We had to cancel the Zoo tour we had booked (hiding animals are no fun for kids) and Shanna tried to find a time to make it work for us but was very understanding when it didn’t work out.
The place is fairly remote which we wanted. We arranged a second grocery trip with Kenny when our Zoo plans fell through.
The pool at the local resort was a hit with the kids.
There is currently construction on site but it didn’t bother us much.
Our first morning we had a wonderful encounter with the Howler monkeys, saw the Iguana, and even a tarantula.
I think this would be a lovely stay for a couple wanting to stay longer with a rental car, there are several areas to lounge and even work with great wifi!

The Howler House was so relaxing. It has all you need to unwind and enjoy nature. The monkeys came each day, we saw iguanas and so many birds. Kenny and Shanna made sure we knew where everything was and how to get around the town. The tours we booked with them were amazing, very personalized.
My husband has some mobility issues from a stroke, we had no problem doing the zipline, cave tubing, horseback riding. They were willing to accommodate with an easy pace and we had great guides on each tour! The Mayan chocolate tour is excellent! Hands on and yummy tasting.
We would definitely recommend this property and tours they offer.

I love to go off-grid when traveling, to be in the middle of nature, and to meet interesting people. Howler house ticks all those boxes! Communication with Kenny and Shanna was easy, and they took such good care of us, setting up a trip to the Belize zoo (exceeded expectations), a cave tubing adventure, and a zip-lining adventure. The positive experiences started when their staff picked us up from the airport and took us to a roadside stand for delicious rice, beans and stew chicken.
Howler house is spacious, with a wraparound porch that looks out over the river. There is also a screened porch with a comfy couch and a hammock. When we were not out on an adventure, we swung in the hammocks at the house, with breezes from the many fans in the house. One afternoon, we were amazed to observe playful howler monkeys swinging from a nearby tree.
The kitchen is well-equipped (including with drinking water), and there is pretty tile-work in the bathroom.
One evening, Kenny drove us to nearby Black Orchid, where we had delicious ceviche for dinner.
Kenny and Shanna are special, kind friends, and I hope to see them again at Howler House!

Where do I begin, first if you're looking around this area just stop looking & book this little gem now! We seen Howler monkeys on our first evening upon arrival, even a baby! Seen the little croc too! We loved everything about this stay, but what really set it apart from our other stays during our vacation in Belize was Shaunna and Kenny! Wow we took a trip booked through them to the ATM cave and loved it so much we booked the half day snorkeling tour the following day!!! I highly recommended both and if we would have stayed longer we would have done even more! Kenny knows so much about Belize, Shauna is so attentive and checked in on us so much, I am so grateful we booked with them!!!

We loved staying at this house! There was abundant wildlife and we saw lots of howler monkeys! There are plenty fans for the hot summer nights. There are bikes to ride and the canoe was so much fun to take out early morning. The kitchen was stocked with cookware and the porch is so awesome to relax on in the evening. Would stay here again!

How many places can you feed a troup of howler monkeys mangoes off of the front porch? You can here! Thank you Shanna and Kenny for such an amazing stay. Hopefully we'll see you again.

The Howler house exceeded our expectations. The location is amazing: the river right behind you, surrounded by trees. There was a toucan living in a knot in the tree out by the stairs- it was a smaller variety with a black and white beak! Every morning we woke up to bird sounds that sounded like a movie soundtrack. We saw the monkeys a few times and listening to them was amazing. We took the canoe out a few times and also walked around Burrell Boom.
The house has screened in porches on 2 sides and a back porch along the back so plenty of places to sit and read or listen to the sounds around you. We had cell service at the house, if that is a concern for you. The kitchen had everything we needed. The furniture was comfortable and overall the place looked like a comfy cabin with colorful seat cushions and some items from the owner's world travels.
A BIG bonus to this stay are Kenny and Shanna, the managers. I highly recommend using them for transportation/guides if you don't want to rent a car. They are wonderful people and have lived in Belize their whole lives so can tell you lots of interesting info. We booked a tour to Lamanai through them- highly recommend it!- and they picked us up from the airport and drove us to the ferry terminal at the end of our stay. I am mostly an introvert but Kenny and Shanna are so easy to be around. Their company really added to our trip. Cannot recommend them enough!

Wonderful stay! During the six days there, we enjoyed the Howler monkeys coming down to the deck, the two youngest (the Twin Tornados) enjoyed our bananas and provided great entertainment and pics. From the trees came the Fiery-billed Toucans, fly catchers, basilisks and iguanas. Wonderful place! Erika's African and Argentinian artwork decorate the walls and shelves and give the Howler House a gallery atmosphere! Thanks, Shaanna! (the manager), And for the Jeep to get to Coracal, and for the trip back to the airpost. You made it all so easy! Thanks again, Richard.

The Howler House is the perfect way to experience the jungle and the villages of Belize. The house is very clean and peaceful and feels like your own jungle escape. Watching the monkeys in the trees come by the house and listening to the birds at all times of the day was magical.
Kenny and Shanna will take you anywhere you’d like to go! From picking you up at the airport to dropping you off to the ferry to go to one of the islands.
They will connect you with wonderful tour guides/give you ideas for exploring.
We had the best time there and getting to know Kenny and Shanna. From the day we booked our stay, we’ve been in touch and letting them know what all we would like to do and what their recommendations are. They are so knowledgeable on who the best tours are and the days you should go! I highly recommend staying at the Howler House and we hope to come back one day.

Greeted at the airport by Kenny, we were off to Howler House. As promised, a troop of Black Howler monkeys peered down at us from the trees as we arrived!.
Howler House is a rustic, but well appointed cottage in the tiny town over-looking the Belize river.
The property managers, Kenny and his wife Shana were excellent hosts. They arranged all of our excursions for cave tubing, Mayan ruins, monkey reserve, and a tour to San Ignacio. All tours included transportation, personal guide, and lunch.
If you are interested in seeing Belize as it's residents live it, this is your ticket.
The cottage had everything we needed, and we loved that we were surrounded by porches, both screened and unscreened, to view our wild neighbors. Toucans, parrots, Coati, Howlers, we saw them all.
Tho prepared for mosquitos, it has been dry, and they were blessedly absent. The cottage is exactly as pictured, and included reliable WiFi, in case you want to stay connected.

Howler House is spectacular and I wish we had more than one day to stay. It's quiet and totally beautiful with lots of trees and river views. Shanna and Kenny were great hosts. We heard howlers across the river and four toucan perched in the trees. We walked to a nearby market and cooked dinner in a well stocked kitchen. It's very relaxed and highly recommended!

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Howler House. When we walked inside, we noticed the cleanliness of the property. Kenny took us to a local bakery, meat shop, and grocery where we were able to buy food to cook. At this point in our trip, we were ready to skip the restaurants. We also stopped at a roadside food stand and were able to buy a lunch of chicken, beans, and rice. We enjoyed seeing more of the local culture at these places.
The place is much bigger than expected with a lot of outdoor decks to enjoy viewing the peacefulness of the river. There are fans everywhere, but be prepared--it is hot and humid.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it if you want an adventure.
We did not see any wildlife. My husband tried the canoe, but the dock is not in good shape in which to launch

Going to Belize and staying at Howler House was a trip of a lifetime. A true jungle experience awaits you in this secluded jungle house. During my one month stay, I saw and heard many birds, many iguanas, and dozens of butterflies. Not to mention seeing or hearing the howler monkeys almost every day. A peccary also made an appearance a few times. You fall asleep every night to jungle sounds. Overlooking the Belize River, it was a peaceful, tranquil experience. I walked around town every day, being greeted by the friendly Belizeans. I occasionally rode the bicycle or walked over the the excellent restaurant at Black Orchid Resort, although Howler House has a fully equipped kitchen. The local food was delicious and very flavorful. The housecarers, Kenny and Shanna were very attentive and took very good care of me. They are also available for day trips should one desire to see outside Burrell Boom. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to experience real jungle living. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy God's creation.

We stayed for 3 nights on the front end of a dive trip in Amergris Caye. There is no AC, but plenty of fans to keep you cool at night. If you are adventurous and NOT high maintenance, you will love Howler House. It is very small and best for 2 people or 3 with the 3rd being a kid. It was a great location for doing tours, and Shanna, the property manager set up all 4 of our tours. We did ATM spelunking, Caves Branch Tubing through caves and visited the Howler Monkey sanctuary. On our last day we went with Wentworth to the Mayan ruins, before dropping us off at the airport for the quick flight over to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye and he was a phenomenal guide. All these trips can be pre-arranged by yourself, online, or you can do what we did and have Shanna book them for you. She was excellent and worth the extra price of not having to worry about anything and the guides that SHE hires are phenomenal. Special shout out to Wentworth, who was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and so friendly and giving of his time and knowledge.....he was also our guide for the Caves Branch tubing adventure. You may choose to save about 20% by booking things yourself, but for us, Shanna was wonderful!

If you need air conditioning and crowds then this isn't for you.. If you want seclusion relaxation and nature then book now. The howler family made an appearance the first day and was a joy to watch. Evenings spent on the back porch listening to the sounds of the jungle were well spent and so relaxing. So many nice people we met along our travels made the journey much easier than it could have been. Shout out to Kenny and Shana. They do a great job maintaining the property. Hindsight being 20-20 we would have booked tours through them and taken some of the stress out of driving ourselves. The Howler house was a hit and we would definitely return. Although we didn't meet Shana Kenny is a knowledgeable and resourseful young man. *****

We stayed for two nights. Bugs will be something to account for, and the second single bed doesn’t have a bug net. Shanna was our guide — she was lovely; she set up some tours for us. The guide who took us on those tours, Wentworth, was nice and friendly as well.
The stay was not luxurious, but it did feel close to the jungle and it was an interesting experience.

We will start by saying that the host, Shanna, is the absolute best! She picked us up from the water ferry in the vehicle she rented us and drove us to the store for supplies since the more stocked stores are closer to Belize city. We got to meet her family when we arrived in Burrell Boom and they were super sweet and offered us some dips they had made along with a Belizean bitter (ask her what it tastes like😂) . We arrived at the house and Shanna gave us a quick tour and rundown of the place. Since it was nighttime, we didn’t see much in the dark, but we woke up to the most amazing view of the river and even had some Howler monkey friends a bit later on. The place is pretty magical. We spent most of our time on the back porch watching wildlife. The river was high so we didn’t get to use the canoe or see the croc, but we did see monkeys, agoutis, lots of iguanas (look for Frank the Tank..you’ll know when you see him) and even two tapirs in the yard! We only stayed three nights but next time we want to stay much longer. Kenny was kind enough to bring over an extra bike to use, but we had a hard time leaving the house. Shanna, Kenny, thank you both so much. You guys are gems and we can’t wait to see you again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Howler House. I’m a teacher and stayed a few nights at Howler House during my Fall Break. The hosts, Kenny and Shannna, were excellent at communicating and taking care of any details I requested for my trip. (They even arranged to do my laundry as I traveled with a small backpack).
When I arrived in the morning - Shanna arranged to have someone waiting for me at the airport who took me on an awesome privately guided cave tubing adventure. Afterwards, I was brought to a grocery to get some essential food, and given a tour of the small village of Burrell Boom to show me restaurants, the Black Orchid Resort, and local stores.
I enjoyed the privacy of Howler House - getting to lay in a hammock and read a good book, and having howler monkeys swing right up to the deck of the home. It was also nice to have bikes available to take short rides into town where I could go out for a meal or enjoy a swim at The Black Orchid. I enjoyed the peace and solitude of being in the rainforest, yet knowing Kenny and Shanna were just a phone call or text message away if I needed anything.
I stayed for 3-nights and got a ride from Shanna to the ferry terminal to go to Ambergris Caye - where I stayed in San Pedro for a few more days.
If you are looking to stay at a fancy private resort with all your needs being catered too - this is not the place for you. But that is not the experience I was looking for. Howler House was exactly what I was wanting. If you are looking for a private retreat as a single person, a couple, or as a family - I would highly recommend Howler House. It provides the experience of a private and unique stay in the rainforest of Belize, and yet is close to several attractions around the country. My stay will remain a fond memory of my time spent in Belize!

It’s a jungle house not a 5-star resort. I loved this jungle house and hope you try it as well. We had Toucan, baby croc, iguana, few sorts of lizards, Male black howler monkey, and many others come visit my wife and I at the house. Bring off!!! Mosquitoes will try to take off with you.

We had a wonderful stay. We were fortunate to have a small family of howlers visit us on the porch deck; an iguana also checked in on us. The premises were clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary tools and utensils for cooking. We would readily book another stay here. Thanks for the great communication and the hospitality!

I can’t begin to express how much we loved staying at the howler house! Kenny and Shana were the best hosts! They made sure our vacation was worry free on every level! Even after transferring to an island for the last couple nights of our trip they arranged all of the transportation, including getting picked up on the island and a local friend of theirs to contact if we needed anything. Their hospitality and welcoming environment made us feel right at home. I completely recommend booking all of your tours and excursions with them! If you have the opportunity to do the cultural experience tour, it will change your life and give you a true appreciation of Belizean culture! If you are possibly considering booking this house don’t hesitate!! We had howler monkeys in the trees to greet us when we arrived and again on the porch the day we left. Iguanas all over the trees, butterflies, birds, and the crocodile in the pond! (Don’t let the croc scare you away, it’s very safe and kind of adorable!) We stayed in august and the heat wasn’t bad. The fans in the house make it perfect! I loved reading a book in the hammock on the deck listening to the jungle sounds. I really can not imagine a better place to stay!
On another note if you stay here you have to go eat at Ms Carols! Also the road side bbq stands are on point! You must try stewed chicken with rice and beans (the best you will ever have is on the cultural experience tour). Have Kenny pick you up at the airport and take you shopping! We stopped at numerous small authentic stores to pick up baked goods, meat, fresh ground coffee, fresh fruit and vegetables. Everything we picked up was delicious! Thank you again Kenny and Shana!!!

This is a lovely, secluded retreat. We saw so many reviews of monkeys and animals, sadly that was not our experience. The hosts are lovely and extremely helpful. Be aware that this is VERY rustic stay, so be prepared for massive bug issues and extreme heat. The fans help, but if you are not prepared to sleep in 85 degree weather with massive humidity- this is uncomfortable. We were a bit naive about the reality of this, not the fault of the owners, just not the best choice for us. We would have loved to have encountered the monkeys. We were able to hear 1x. This is a great option for those wanting a more rugged look at jungle options.

Everything about this property listing is accurate, right down to the amazing hospitality of Shana and Kenny! My daughter and I came to Belize as her college graduation trip. And although she and I prefer to explore more on our own (we didn't book any tours through this property), I have no doubt they would've been excellent if we had. Shana always answered any questions, made recommendations, etc. in mere moments from when I would message her. The location was so special! We enjoyed Howler Monkeys on the deck every morning! If you are looking for a really unique experience in Belize, you have to book the Howler House! The people of Belize are so warm and friendly, it made it bitter sweet to leave on Tuesday! Thanks so much for everything! Kim and Logan

Had the best time staying here. It was so cute. The place was very clean, fully stocked kitchen. Wish we could have stayed longer. The hosts were responsive and friendly. The locals were friendly and informative. We saw the howler monkeys everyday which my kids loved. The local restaurants had amazing food. If you are planning any excursions talk to the hosts as they do them and they cost less and they pretty much assist in all activities.

The most amazing experience ever!!! Kenny and Shana are both amazing host. I would recommend this location for anyone. You get a unique perspective of the culture and the locals, as well as the local wildlife. Definitely a tropical Eden within the Caribbean.

This truly was a house in the trees. We enjoyed our time next to the river and surrounded by wildlife. The troup of 7 Howler monkeys that make the surrounding 5 acres home would make their way to the river late every afternoon. We enjoyed the location close to the airport/Belize City as well as Altun Ha mayan site, Belize zoo, and fresh roadside produce.
The property manager was easy to get in touch with by text and was very helpful.
We spent a lot of time in the hammocks resting and watching birds on the screened-in porch. We will come back again.

The Howler Monkey house was everything I needed to get the relaxation I deserved. I loved the location! It is in a rural village but there were places within walking distance to eat or to get supplies. We walked to Carol's Place for lunch and Ms. Carol was so charming! Plus the food was excellent. We also rode the bikes to Black Orchid Resort for dinner and the dinner was fabulous.
The two balconies at the house, one of which is screened in, was where me and my friend spent most of our time. The Howler Monkeys are visible in the trees and we actually had a couple come onto the porch while we were there. Amazing! All kinds of birds were visible as well. The house overlooks the river so the view was fantastic. You could even the crocodiles! The house was well equipped with all the essentials needed for a relaxing stay (towels, hammocks, pots/pans, coffee maker, some spices and butter, bottled water, etc.) Please note: There is no A/C but the fans were enough to keep us cool at night or whenever we needed it.
Kenny was our guide and chauffer and Shana, his wife, was always available via WhatsApp to communicate with us about anything going on at the house or in the area. Kenny took us on a tour as we drove in from the airport and gave us detailed info on the true Belizean shops and restaurants. Kenny linked us up with another guide named Wentworth to take us to the Zoo and Cave tubing who was just as excellent as Kenny. I would definitely go back another time.

Howler House Burrell Boom
The most amazing experience ever!!! Kenny and Shana are both amazing host. I would recommend this location for anyone. You get a unique perspective of the culture and the locals, as well as the local wildlife. Definitely a tropical Eden within the Caribbean.

We had the most DELIGHTFUL stay at the Howler House. Kenny and Shanna were the most gracious hosts and arranged every little detail of our stay. The treehouse was clean and we loved sitting out on the porch listening and watching the howler monkeys and all the sights and sounds of nature. We saw howler monkeys on multiple occasions -- up to six at a time! It was a smidgen warm but we definitely believe that an AC unit would have diminished the experience -- listening to the jungle was a big part of the experience and there were plenty of high-powered fans to keep you cool. The hammocks were my favorite spot! We used the bikes for a 5 minute ride to the corner store. We also booked several tours through Kenny and Shanna and they are the best hosts you will find anywhere in the world. We loved the tours and enjoyed chatting with them to and from our tours -- they really gave us such a personalized, private tour of their country for very reasonable prices. It offered a much better glimpse of local life than you'll get through any tour company (most of which are run by foreigners in Belize). You won't regret staying here! We travel all around and this was truly a one-of-a-kind unforgettable experience.
