Nestled in Charleston, this attractive house for $271 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Featured in Fine Homebuilding and RI Monthly magazines, this award-winning Custom Designed Saltbox has sweeping lines, curved details and asymmetrical angular features. The living area feels large due to the wide-open living room and kitchen, opening on one end to the deck and on the other to the front porch with classic rocking chairs. With live-edged Walnut countertops, custom cabinetry, open shelving, and stainless appliances, this uniquely laid out kitchen allows for intimate cooking or open entertaining. The Living room/Dining area features a large table for six and a comfortable sitting area with a sleeper sofa. A half bath and the large deck finish off the first floor. Ascend the staircase to the two bedrooms with their unique angles & high ceilings, The Master has a queen bed, dresser, and custom built-in closet. The other bright bedroom has bunk beds. The intimate bath with small soaking tub completes the second floor. There is also a large finished basement with a sleeper sofa and space for indoor games and puzzles (of which there is a substancial selection). The first and second floors are air conditioned with a system that was recently installed. Situated on the top of a hill 3.5 miles from Charlestown Beach, the 5+ acre property has its own walking trails and offers tremendous privacy. Off the front porch there is a new outdoor shower, kids play set, a fire pit with seating, and a hammock. On the back deck there is a sitting area, grill, and a large open air dining space. With just enough lawn area to play games, this house makes a great getaway!

What an amazing property! Accurately named the Hideaway, we felt like we were far from civilization nestled in the woods. We were actually minutes away from everywhere we wanted to visit. Perfect central location! The beautiful well maintained house had everything we needed and was comfy and cozy. The grounds were beautiful and our pup loved it too! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us, we hated leaving!

Photos just do do this property justice, it is beautiful, quiet, and very private. Katrina was wonderful and our stay was so much better than we hoped. The driveway is long, steep, and gravel, but well maintained so take care if you have a very low car. Our AWD SUV never slipped a tire even on a heavy rain day so just be aware and don't let this cause you to miss out on this hidden gem. Can't wait to come back.

This home is in a great location to visit RI any time of the year. While we stayed in the fall, we were still able to enjoy the local restaurants and the shoreline. The uniqueness of the home added to the enjoyment of our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and the trails in the woods on the property. The owner was very communicative and helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommend this home for an amazing stay in South County RI any time of the year.

We really enjoyed our time at this property. The house and grounds are exactly like the pictures. The property feels very private, but is literally a 2 minute drive to restaurants and stores. Katrina was easily accessible before and during the visit, so everything ran smoothly. I also want to note (because this is a pet peeve for me) that there were plenty of supplies, like paper products and hand soap, and the kitchen was nicely stocked. We loved our stay and would be happy to go back!

Such an amazing property! The location is perfect, tucked away in the trees, so quiet and peaceful! The Hideaway is a a beautiful and unique house! Very comfortable and homey, a great base to see the surrounding area and entertain family.

Perfect retreat from daily life with all the amenities of home. The hideaway is a special place tucked away to provide privacy for your guests but access to the local attractions, beaches, clam shacks, coastal towns of South County. My children are grown but the hideaway is perfect for little children and big ones alike. The must try feature of the house is the outdoor shower that is a nice little oasis surrounded by nature. Hopefully we will return to make more memories as a family.

We loved staying at this house. It was the perfect location and super comfortable! 10 minutes from the beach. The outdoor shower was amazing! The home owners have a really nice book collections for young kids that we put to good use!

Stayed here with my husband to explore the area. The house is so cool- beautiful outdoor eating area, great deck, fire pit. Close to all the beaches. So secluded- just the sound of the birds. This is a real respite from the daily grind. It would be a bit tight for more than 3 people, but my daughter visited for a night and it was fine. Could benefit from another shelf or two in upstairs bathroom, but this would be my only suggestion! We loved our stay, as did our pup.

Everything about this property is magical. The house, yard, location... It provides great privacy and yet it is close to town, beaches, stores. Katrina was responsive and was making sure we are okay when it started snowing. We had summer tires on our car (just moved to the east coast from CA) and couldn't go up the driveway, so her father came immediately and poured some sand on the road for better traction. Thank you Tom. I would definitely recommend this for a vacation. As a matter of fact, we will be coming here in the future for sure.

This home was truly perfect! My partner and I came here for a few days with our dog and could not have been happier. The house was bright, beautiful, and well equipped. It was located close to town but still felt private. The five-acre property was great to let our dog run around, and although the yard isn't fenced, it felt safe from cars. The house itself is filled with unique charm and the architecture alone is with the stay! Although it was just my partner and me, the house was situated in a way where it didn't feel too huge for just the two of us. That being said, there was a large basement area and I am sure a larger family would fit well too! The beach was a close drive and the nearby towns were really peaceful to explore during the off-season. I absolutely couldn't recommend this place enough!

We had a fabulous time, getting away for several days for my husband’s birthday! The house is stunning & most welcoming. We didn’t want to leave! We, especially, loved the views from the beautiful windows both downstairs in the living room, and upstairs in the master bedroom. It was a special treat to see the snow fall one day when we were there, and see the trees & the woods with a coating of snow. We had a lovely stay at Katrina’s home in Charlestown. The house was so cozy. Loved the yard and overall property. Very peaceful. Katrina was wonderful to work with as well. Always responded very quickly to any of our questions. Great location too. I would highly recommend this property.

We stayed at the Hideaway with our fur babies for a week & it was a beautiful place. Gorgeous house, great location & our host was wonderful very helpful with local recommendations. Would highly recommend & come back!! Must check out: Moonstone Beach unbelievable stones up the beach!

The house is not only architecturally interesting, it's comfortable and welcoming. The yard is spacious and includes a picnic table and fire pit to enjoy the fabulous fall weather. The kitchen and outdoor grill provided all we needed for our meals. We enjoyed the local hikes, walks on the beach, ambles in Newport and a day at Fort Wetherill State Park. Then back to the house for cooking and hunkering. We hope to come back soon!

We had a great experience staying at this wonderful house. The house was just what we needed for a family of 4, the location is great and it’s the cleanest vacation rental I’ve ever been in! The only thing I would say is that it is a drag to have to bring your own sheets and towels which take up a lot of precious luggage space and to get there to have to make beds, but it’s a minor inconvenience. We definitely hope to stay here again next summer again!

I have rented many homes in the Narragansett and Newport area as my daughter is a student at URI and we have moved her into and out of her rental properties in the area. This is by far my favorite! As you climb a beautifully forested hill you get a beautiful view of this architectural beauty. The house, the landscaping, the interior are so very tasteful, the amenities and location convenient. My Mom and I wished we had brought our binoculars as we awoke every morning to the chirping of the birds and the colors of the landscape. Katrina is a wonderful host, thank you, Katrina!

What a remarkably peaceful, comfortable, and beautiful home! The location is superb, the gardens calming, and the porches delightful. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house may be a bit small for more than 2 adults, but it was perfect for the two of us and our pup. We highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at the Hideaway! We loved the secluded area, enjoyed tea on the porch while listening to the birds each morning, and our daughter loved the playground. Kitchen was well equipped to eat in, and plenty of great takeout options nearby. Short drives to beaches and parks. Definitely check out the Fantastic Umbrella Factory! We had a relaxing and peaceful stay. Katrina was great and quick to reply to questions.

We stayed for several nights just after a snowstorm had come through the northeast. The house offered cozy respite from the cold and the profoundly quiet surroundings allowed respite from a difficult year. The design details of the house are intriguing and make it quite easy to move in and feel at home right away. Although we enjoyed our winter escape, we definitely want to return at some point in warmer weather to take fuller advantage of the porches and the lovely yard and explore the incredible diversity nature offers in this region of Rhode Island.
