Pretty much as expected at this end of the price range. Generally OK, but with room for improvement.

Good location, and easy to find (thanks to the large sign outside, which you can see as you approach the property). Staff helpful on checking-in. They had had a problem where they had found the a/c unit in the room wasn't working, so they had rigged-up a stand-alone unit. It wasn't pretty, and the temperature at the time meant that we didn't actually use it, but at least they made the effort. Room was plenty big enough for our 2 night stay. Bed & pillows fine. Never got to use the pool but it looked fine. Nice property, leading down to the shore with nice views. No food available but there are plenty of options just a short drive away.

Decor, fixtures and fittings getting tired. Obviously a fairly old building (by US standards). Having said that, our experience elsewhere in the Keys showed that this was typical of other hotels/motels. Quite expensive for what you get by normal standards, but par for the course in the Keys, where everything tends to be expensive.

Peaceful beachside location with sunset views

We were a little taken back by the proximity of the highway but our room was on beach side which was good. The room itself (our room) was in a motel style building., the shower was attractive, and the walls seemed freshly painted, but room would have benefited from a painting or print on the walls. It was a quiet place, with a nice little heated pool close by, attractive gardens, a little beach, and some nice seating by the water, and yes lovely sunsets. It's a nice option for a couple of days of sitting peacefully around absorbing a book and maybe some beverages. There is not much nearby but Ballyhoos across the road is a decent friendly restaurant (with great Key Lime pie!) and "One Grind" food truck over the road is a good Breakfast stop with 2 pleasant ladies... There is also a service station selling small items, fruit, snacks, beer, etc.

The walls would have been improved with an attractive print or painting. Just one clothes hanger also seems a little extreme. There is a coffee maker but only enough coffee for 2 cups but no tea. Little things can make a difference. It would not be hard to make a better impression.

A place of total peace & relaxation in a beautiful setting

Absolutely everything was perfect. Really friendly staff who made us feel immediately welcome & for whom nothing was too much trouble. Extremely comfortable bed, warm swimming pool & free use of kayaks. Beautiful garden with sun beds & hammocks. I’ve never felt so sad to leave anywhere before.

Exceptional

I was in Room 9 and loved the room I was in. It gave me privacy and security for my solo birthday trip. I was able to enjoy the beautiful view on my spacious front porch. Everything I wanted was right there: kayaks, the ocean, chairs to relax, pool. The room was immaculate and the best cleaned room I’ve ever stayed in.

I honestly loved everything. The only thing I would say I didn’t like was I wasn’t able to spend more time there.

Great place!

There is a great swim area. The landscape is beautiful. There is a nice charcoal grill area. You can use their Kayaks for free. They have several. The pool is small, but very clean. The location is near to the boat we rented, the snorkel trip we took, and yummy food.

We tried to use the paddle boat, but it wasn't working right. My husband had to swim out to help pull us back to shore.

We had 5 beautiful days at your resort. Linda and Jerry and really, EVERYONE was so friendly and accommodating to our needs. The grounds were terrific and we loved relaxing by the water and watching the Sunset at night. The pool was clean and enjoyable and the whole stay we had a quiet atmosphere. it was truly a wonderful place to stay and close enough to everything we wanted to see and do.

The pool temperature was a little warm, which we understand there was an issue with the controls. We still however enjoyed the pool regardless.

Tranquil old Keys feel.

This property is a real Keys treat. There is a small private sand beach that has shallow water so it is easy to get in and out of Florida Bay. There are lounge chairs and hammocks to enjoy...and plenty of shady areas. Kyaks are available on site. Also a cute Tiki Hut with a picnic table right near the water at the end of a long pier makes for great sunset watching. Barbecue area also available. Very convenient parking. The room #22 is enormous with a king bed, living/dining area with very comfy couches and chairs and separate sitting room. This room has a very large screened in porch on the second floor overlooking the pool and bay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. All in all a great place to chill and commune with nature.

In the summer there are mosquitoes at night so take repellent.

Definitely recommend!

The location is awesome, quite resort to relax.

I didn't like the fact the pool was closed by 8pm, and there is no fishing unless u go out away from the resort. Although I understand why, it's just a inconvenience.

The kids loved Rock Reef Resorta and were already planning our return before we checked out…

Location. Our rooms were SPOTLESS and large (Quad Room – 2 bedrooms, 4 double beds). Free use of the kayaks. Pool was clean and warm. Staff was professional and polite. Tanay, at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. Great place to relax and enjoy "Old Keys" charm…

Our Quad Room hadn't been updated as some of the other rooms had. Lack of balcony/lanai off our rooms on the 2nd floor.

Fantastic family stay.

The property’s grounds are lovely. stunning views. Amazing sunset with dolphins. Very relaxing. Use of kayaks was fantastic. We saw an alligator swimming in the mangrove. We stayed in the beach front villa and it was perfect.

Easy access from Hwy 1, near the scuba diving place I wanted to use.

Surprisingly Nice! Very Clean and Comfortable.

The swimming pool was wonderful! The size of the property was just right, not too big and not too small. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the staff and other guests we met were so friendly.

I, like another guest I spoke to, was under the assumption that my room had full size refrigerator and cooking appliance. This was not the case, so be careful when choosing your room type.

Exceptional

The staff was all super friendly and very helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Pool was heated and very clean, had a grilling area and a beach, lots of beach chairs and kayaks to rent. The view was amazing, watched the sunset at the pier with other guests each night. Very homey feeling, everyone was relaxed and met all the neighbors within the first days. Linda and Sassy were super sweet. We will be planning another trip back next year!!!
