In one word: mesmerising! As a guest at Baan BooLoo, you can briefly immerse yourself in a calm, serene atmosphere where every detail of the accommodation is just right. The family has a clear vision of what they want to offer and how they want to do it. If you are looking for a unique place to relax during your trip through Thailand, you will not find a better place than here! Oh, and breakfast is superb as well
A safe in the room would make it even better

If you want to stay in Chiang Mai snd want to do it in a very original setting, then this is the place for you. It is a very beautiful place and the staff is over the top friendly.
All my recomendations goes to this place. We stayed with two kids age 6&7 and we played cards in the evenings and just enjoyed the setting.
Nothing negative

Great host. The hotel is inside the Old City and the rooms are "on the tree". A perfect place to experience local Thai culture. They also serve breakfast.
Rooms are a bit dark.

The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We arrived early to drop off our bags and we were invited stay and have breakfast which was an amazing choice of Thai food as well as toast and croissants.
The accommodation was amazing and was built using beautiful reclaimed hard wood which gives it a very authentic feel. Everywhere you look you notice another little carving or stained glass detail. The accommodation is built around mature trees so it feels very tranquil.
We loved all of it.

This is a really unique. You feel like you have stepped into a historical heritage site with rustic buildings and every detail of the hotel is thought out to reflect that. Despite the history of the place it has all the comforts of a modern place with good showers, aircon, fans etc. The room was really awesome, quiet and very traditional but comfortable. The hosts are amazing and the location could not be better. Would highly recommend even if the price is a little high as it really is an experience.
Nothing, it was pretty great.

We really enjoyed our stay at Baan Boo Loo. We were greeted by the driver the moment when we landed and picked us up with a Tuk Tuk. What else could be better than this authentic transportation vehicle? When we arrived at the house, the host Jeab was already waiting for us and prepared two plates of fruit. She was wonderful and very kind to give us a whole picture about the city, providing all the information you need for a first comer. We were sitting at the common area on the 2nd floor with gentle summer breeze, and immediately fell in love with this place. The place is traditional wood house with authentic Thai touch and a lot of artistic decoration done by Jeab's brother. The room is clean and very comfy. Breakfast is delicious and all staff are very friendly. 3-day stay at BBL is definitely part of our pleasant memory at Chiang Mai. We will definitely come back and highly recommend to our friends.
The shower in our room is a bit old and could be improved.

From the moment we arrived, the Baan Boo Loo family made us feel at home. The property is gorgeous and it is clear how much time and effort they’ve put into making every little detail perfect. The Baan Boo Loo family is accommodating, warm, and welcoming. Plus, the location is unbeatable and the complimentary breakfast they cook in the morning is some of the best food of our entire trip. This was without a doubt one of the most memorable places we’ve ever stayed at and we can’t wait to go back!

Everything. My kids loved it. It feels like you are visiting a Thai family. Super friendly staff and owner. Very good food, breakfast was great, very authentic.
Negatives: Mosquitos...kept us up all night, nothing that the owner can do about this one. Love the tennis racket.
One thing I would prefer to have had is a softer pillow, mine was hard and was super high. ( I slept on the bunkbed with my son), maybe the adult bed was better, will ask my husband :))

Genuinely unique accommodation in hand-built traditional teak houses that blend seamlessly with the trees and gardens while oozing so much charm/character it's hard to describe. We stayed in the tree-house, which is actually a suite (bed, bath & sitting rooms, all traditionally furnished) with very private balcony that has its own bath - worth every baht and more. It's in the old town, central location (2 min walk to main temple and Rachadamnoen Rd (shops, massage etc) while Adi, Jeab and Dao (owners/siblings) are PERFECT hosts. Breakfast is fantastic and varied while the breakfast pavilion (like the rest of the 5 or so buildings) seemed like it should probably be UNESCO listed. It's not a 'polished marble/michelin star' experience but this is probably one of the most memorable places to stay I have even been lucky enough to enjoy - and I've stayed in a more than a few. Sorry to gush but this one is a real gem and not to be missed if you are in Chiang Mai.
The only thing I can think of that is a negative is that we had to leave. We had 5 nights, would have happily stayed longer.

So much charm and soul in this place. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming. The food at the breakfast is the best food we had in Thailand - all dishes are better than in any restaurant we have been to.
And all the kids felt at home!

We really loved our stay with Baan Boo Loo. We were picked up at the airport and driven to the property. We were very warmly greeted upon arrival. The property grounds are like stepping into a unique village. We went up to the open air second floor where we were further greeted, offered drinks and fresh fruit, and allowed for a relaxed check-in. We were surprised with an upgrade to the villa room, which was the entire 2nd floor across the street.
The room itself was wonderful. The main room was very large with not only the large main bed, but also a second smaller full size bed in the far corner, a sofa, desk, and armoire. The room was not only spacious and comfortable, but also full of character. This is not the boring, box room. In addition, there is a full balcony with two sliding doors to access. This had a full lounge bed and multiple chairs, as well as a refrigerator and cabinets for plates, glasses, etc. Then, the bathroom is also very large. It's outdoor; therefore, the shower are somewhat open air (but fully private). There is a giant tub, huge mirror along the wall, and plenty of space. Since it's non-air conditioned, there is a large ceiling fan and you will be surprised at how well that fan works. It keeps it very comfortable and maybe even a chill if you have it on high while in the shower. Also, they keep the fridge stocked with water options for free, which was a great touch.
The location worked great for us, as it's just around the corner from Wat Phra Singh. But, it is easy to walk anywhere within the old town. Walking to the far West gate was maybe 15~18 minute walk, so no problems on location. In addition, there is a 7/11 about 5~7 minute walk away as well, in case you would like to pick up anything random.
Lastly, breakfast was top notch. We were surprised at how many options they served, included true Thai dishes, as well as breads, western options, all types of drinks, etc. It was very fresh and homemade.
Highly recommend.

lovely traditional wooden structures tastefully decorated and updated. great breakfasts, owners super helpful as well
it’s a bit lacking in natural light but that’s because of the vegetation and structure of the buildings. not really a problem just something to be aware of.

The kids had a great time with the treehouse, and they enjoyed playing with owners’ little kitten. The small living room really helped ,so my husband could work at night, me & kids weren't disturbed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Hope to visit again sometime.
There were insects(ants may be) in the bread cupboard when we had breakfast. I informed the staff and they changed it immediately. Other than that, everything is perfect.
