Beautiful hotel, walkable to everything. Pretty low key while we stayed there, so it was quiet. Free wine and snacks for happy hour and a good selection for the free breakfast. Organic eggs, egg bites, fruits, pastries etc!
Super friendly and knowledgeable Front Desk person when we checked in. Have us a list of places to eat which included what’s vegan/ gluten free

Loved the location and proximity to restaurants. My husband and I enjoyed borrowing bikes at their sister hotel. Everyone was incredibly friendly and we would definitely stay again.

Staff were exceptionally accommodating and friendly. They assisted with an earlier checkin which made a world of difference as we had a reservation at a winery nearby and we were able to freshen up before the event - thank you again for that especially since the weather was uncooperative.

Older style motel style property, but a gem if you are looking for a central location (just ten minutes from downtown and the marina), offering great value for money.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Well appointed room. A little dated but spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed and linen. Excellent continental breakfast, a happy hour, and even a bottle of sparkling wine left in the fridge. Nice pool and very well maintained gardens.

The Room Smelled very badly. I had to change hotels.

Great service from front desk, prompt response to need for a toilet repair, plenty complimentary wine and nibbles 4-6pm every day, nice breakfast, well maintained pool with garden surroundings, good location for harbour, beach and Stearns Wharf, free use of bikes... very enjoyable stay.

All was great. Very friendly staff.

Incredible hospitality from the entire staff. Terrific amenities, beautiful property- loved the pool and jacuzzi. Helpful, caring knowledgeable staff. Mickey was an excellent host. Only wish we could stayed longer. Thank you so much!

Really liked this cute little motel. The pool/garden courtyard was so Southern Californian, which was just what we were looking for. And the staff was so welcoming and kind. The room was very cleaning, which was good, but it smelled strongly of cleaning products, which was not so good. Had to air the room out for several hours to get rid of the smell of bleach/amonia, which was a little overwhelming.
The shower pressure was AMAZING! Strongest shower I've ever been in, which was nice. The drawback was that the neighboring shower was so loud you could hear it through the walls, and that was a bummer when the neighbor took a shower at midnight and startled us awake.
Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay. Great value (especially with free WIFI, parking and breakfast all included!) Convenient location. Couple blocks to the beach and to State Street. And there was even a free Western museum next door that we enjoyed.
I expect we'll be back.

Fantastic stay, great staff and great location. This is the place you wanna stay in Santa Barbara

Great location, walking distance to the beach and the waterfront. Having free bikes available was a game changer, although they need to be better maintained, got a flat and had to walk home, and brakes on other bikes were iffy. Guest appreciation was also nice with drinks and appetizers. Now the not so good, beds in 217 were way too soft, have had backaches since day one at the hotel. Room needs more character, a few pictures on wall and please clean and change out the curtains, they look tired. Kitchen utensils were straight out of a college dorm, need upgrades there as well. Pool was way too cold mid 70s at best, should be between 80-85, especially at this time of year with highs of 70. Walkways need a good power washing, change out bright spotlights by pool with something more cool and soothing. Clean up area behind the hotel, looked like leftover crap left behind so you didn’t want to open curtains behind beds. Need more sound deadening between rooms, heard a crying baby for several hours. This is not a 3.5 star hotel, more like 2.5. Was expecting more for a 3.5 rating, so might want to downgrade yourself to be in line with what you are, a nice enough refurbished motel. Pool area could use some upgrades, would be great to fix the fountain by the hot tub, paint the hot tub (looks very worn), and put up a faux grass wall against building next door, looks horrible with just a brown wall. It’s those types of touches that will get you to three stars and above.

Home away from Home feeling.
Very Nice and helpfull staff - we stayed 9 nights and enjoyed every day

We had a pleasant stay. We appreciated the upgrade in room size. If you are many people needing to get ready for an event, bring a mirror. There are no mirrors except in the bathroom. I am a light sleeper so the AC/ heater was difficult for me as it is very loud. Breakfast was decent. Bring your own coffee. Very attentive staff. The pool does go to 8 1/2 feet which is rare and wonderful. Massaging jets don’t work in jacuzzi but it was relaxing. We did not have a chance to utilize bike rentals which I’m sure would have been nice. Gym is very limited. No weights, just cardio and very small.

The staff is so wonderful. We did have a leak in our room but they were very helpful during our heavy rain storm. Our toilet also wouldn’t flush but again the staff did their best to take care of it! Very clean, big room!!

Awesome place, super friendly and helpful staff. Room was so cool for the price, pool and hot tub were awesome. Huge selection of DVDs to rent for when the cable went out from bad weather. Fantastic experience all around.

Staff extremely concerned and safety oriented during extreme weather conditions while still providing 5 star service.

The breakfast and happy hour was wonderful.

Everything was great. The question about eco friendliness was rated the way I did because they still use single plastic amenities (shampoo, conditioner, lotion). That in Santa Barbara especially on the coast is kinda not good. But everything else including the breakfast was great.

The concierge were very friendly and accommodating. If facility had a wine and cheese, happy hour for the guests, and we also found a bottle of champagne in our refrigerator. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The grounds were lovely.

All was good and we did a quick overnight. But we were supposed to get an upgrade (per hotels.com status) were never offered one.

Excellent staff, decent property, great location

Nice property and extremely friendly staff. My only complaint was that there was some visible green algae/mold on the steps that should have been noticed and cleaned up but that was very minor. The continental breakfast and wine hour were both very nice. The price was reasonable. I would stay there again for sure.

It was a good stay overall. Staff members are friendly and accommodating. The room itself was very outdated but it was quiet enough that our 1 year old slept through the night with no problems.

We had a wonderful stay this past weekend. The room was very spacious and we would not hesitate to stay again. The room was clean etc. however, staff should pay a little bit closer attention to the cleanliness/drainage of the kitchen sink. Everything else was perfect, great customer service and professionalism. The location is perfect. A- due to the kitchen sink.
Thank you again!

From the pictures it is a wysiwyg-a converted motel. We booked a deluxe king. The room had a separate kitchen room which was nice but age has overcome utility. Very noisy refrigerator and small microwave. The toilet was most noisy and took a long time to fill.
The room was clean and adequate. Location was 2 blocks from the beach but no view

Great stay. Close to everything. Decent breakfast to keep you going.

I had a great stay at the Inn by the Harbor! The location was good - walkable to the harbor, a big park, the train/bus station and Santa Barbara City College/Antioch College, which has a beautiful campus to walk around. My room was very clean with a spacious shower and very comfortable bed! I enjoyed the yummy free breakfast and liked the garden view in the center of the hotel. I didn't get to try out the pool or hot tub this time. I woukd definitely come back for another stay!
