Situated in La Jolla, this charming house for $1,083 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Mid-Century Modern Home with Stunning Canyon Views (Sleeps 16). Family Vacations/Corporate Retreats-- This is a peaceful, fun estate to gather for vacations & retreats. NO WEDDINGS OR PARTIES! (Rates start at $980 per night and can go to $1,535 in high season/holidays) The calendar is not updated publicly for security reasons. This mid-century modern home (1959) was purchased in 2018 and has undergone extensive renovations. Enter the front foyer through the double doors, and the open, loft-style living space will greet you with a great room, a modern kitchen, and a long spacious table. This is the perfect space for entertaining and gathering with your family. The floors are sleek, grey concrete, and the entire back wall of the home features glass windows and French Doors, overlooking a large concrete deck with a built-in sunshade canopy--and pool and canyons below. This is California living, where the indoors and outdoors join one another in beautiful harmony. Walk down the winding stairs to the lower pool deck, where ample pool furniture awaits your fun day in the sun. The property is completely private and very spacious for large gatherings. The dark-bottom pool is tranquil and welcoming for a day of play or relaxation. (solar heated) The Master Bedroom has French doors that lead onto a private patio (which adjoins the very large outdoor patio to the main living space). This modern space is luxurious and overlooks the pool and beautiful sunrise. You can watch from the bed through all the windows overlooking the mountains/canyons. Relax in the brand-new soaking tub or start your day in the beautiful shower glimmering with Italian tile by Bisazza. The majority of the bedrooms have their private baths and have been given modern facelifts with different personalities--tranquil turquoise, spunky pink, cityscape, and luscious lavender, all re-designed by our interior stylist. Overall, the house is warm, fun, simple, sleek, stylish and lovingly cared for. We are located in a residential neighborhood with easy parking on and off the property and close to desirable beaches and tourist destinations. Because of our lovely climate and gentle breezes off the ocean & canyon, the home does not have A/C but rather a "whole house fan" that can be utilized if the house does get warm. PARTIES ARE NOT PERMITTED; IF SEEKING A PARTY OR EVENT SPACE, YOU MUST LOOK ELSEWHERE. Our family visited San Diego for a family wedding and the house was perfect. All the bedrooms were comfortable. Loved all the bathrooms. Had plenty of amenities and toiletries to get through the visit. The property is beautiful. Pool and hot tub were a hit and nice areas outside to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather. Communication was great. Had a couple minor issues and both were addressed in a timely manner.

Great property with a ton of space for all of our party (10 ladies there for the National USTA Tournament). Large community areas (kitchen and family room) were great for gathering on our down time. Also, very close to downtown area with great restaurants!

No shortage of bedrooom here! Lots of privacy and room for larger parties to still have personal space. There was a lot of communication and house rules to read, but nothing too complicated. Cleanliness of the house and pool were great to walk into! Recommend staying here

Very spacious house with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of 13. The house is a bit dated but functional. The bed linens and towels were of poor quality but the beds were comfy. The TVs did not work when we arrived and it took 3 days for a technician to arrive. The views were amazing and the garden and pool well maintained. The pool was cold, but the kids had fun anyway. Communication with the host was very slow.

The property was PERFECT for the occasion. The pool was fantastic, the layout of the house worked for our needs, and the kitchen was a perfect place to gather. I don't think the TV was turned on at all.

Overall a lovely stay. Some details that could be improved: more than 4 dishwasher pellets for a four day stay with 12 adults and one infant.
Trash and recycling was full on arrival which made it difficult to dispose of trash and recycling we created.
Setting and view of valley was amazing. Our family had a great time. Thank you!

My family and I traveled from northern CA to San Diego for a family getaway. The house had plenty of space for us all and the grounds were amazing. We enjoyed this beautiful house and have very fond memories of the time we spent here.

The house was absolutely stunning and the pictures online failed to do the home justice.
Our group was especially pleased with the outdoor areas as we spent most of our time outside.
We had a chef come over one night and make us food. The kitchen was perfect for us being able to have a great meal while not getting in the way of the catering folks in the kitchen itself.

The exterior of the property was beautiful. Cool weather prevented using the pool, but the hot tub was very nice. The interior was comfortable and functional. There were some small maintenance things that could be accomplished to make things better. One of the water heaters was off when we arrived, but maintenance fixed it the next day.

Beautiful spacious house, just as advertised. Pool and hot tub are fantastic. The area has so much to do. After prompt responsiveness early in the week from management, there seems to have been a coverage problem in the office when we had a problem with the laundry. We couldn’t reach anyone for a couple of days. I’m sure the management will avoid that problem in the future — they were apologetic.

Thanks, we had a lovely time! This is a lovely and spacious home with lots of room for our large group. We ran a family auction night, played multiple cribbage games, swam, and lounged by the pool. Excellent hot tub! Lots of entertain us in the surrounding area, too.

This was perfect for the 5 grandchildren, ages 2-9, 8 adults and 2 grandparents. Lots of space to run around inside and out, space to get away and to work, huge kitchen and outdoor areas with lots of seating, and a well-maintained pool and hot tub. The pool temperature was perfect in late July. This is close to everything we wanted to see, with easy parking for our 4 vehicles.

Beware the owners stay on the property behind the pool and have a dog. The dog came out during our outside dinner, went to the bathroom, and we had to throw its toy to get it off the property. Parking on the street is recommended. Our midsize SUV barely fit through the driveway gate. This house does NOT have AC so keep this in mind if you are staying during warm months. The oven takes a very long time to cook and the grill requires propane.
Do not expect an early check-in or late check-out. Landscaping comes several times during the week/weekend so be prepared to see them in the front and backyard.
The property manager does her best to communicate professionally. There was a discrepancy in the number of beds being less than expected.

The house is in an awesome location, close to downtown La Jolla and the beaches, easy on and off the free way to get into San Diego, and in a beautiful neighborhood. The view from the back out over the canyon is beautiful and the backyard is awesome, very picturesque. My biggest complaint is that the pool is freezing. We were told there was a solar heating element to the pool but we were there for several bright sunny, hot days and you still couldn't get in the pool, so it's pretty much just for looks. The house is good for a big group, it does sleep a lot of people and pretty much every room has it's own bathroom, which is great. The house isn't quite as fancy as it appears online, which is fine, it doesn't look old or banged up inside. But a lot of the showers are old and finicky and several of the bedrooms (facing the sun) don't have any blinds.

Such an elevated, gorgeous experience! This house had plenty of room both inside and outside - we had 12 women celebrating a bachelorette - and we enjoyed every square inch. Outside: the pool, the hot tub, the large outdoor seating areas, the VIEWS!!!!. Inside: the giant kitchen, cozy living rooms, and plenty of rooms to choose from. Note that there is no A/C (as is normal in this geographical location) but each room is outfitted with fans and lots of windows can be opened for air flow. We absolutely loved our time here and didn't want to leave. We will DEFINITELY be back!

- beds ranged from just ok to not comfortable at all
- gas grill old and in disrepair; though it was clean, should be replaced
- some bathroom doors (mostly sliders) did not close completely and/or lock
- house gets a bit warm, especially when cooking, no central a/c but running vent as instructed was helpful. Lots of fans available
- pool not heated and just a bit cold for our taste but swimmable. My guess is it warms better on sunny days and we had a lot of clouds
