Situated 50 feet above sea level, the home is approximately 200 feet from the sand dunes, affording a great perch and unobstructed view of the beach, surf, and ocean sights. Described as a botanical paradise with completely native old-growth vegetation, including false Lily of the Valley, Indian Celery, various types of rainforest ferns, flowers, and native plants. Tucked in the old-growth Sitka Spruce Conifers, privacy is optimum. This home is an ideal spot for bird-watching, and winter storm-watching is incredible! The roar of the surf can be amazing, even from inside the cabin. The cabin itself is rustic in decor, with a wood-burning fireplace. Electric heat is also available to ensure your comfort. A ladder with a handrail takes you to the loft area, which offers two twin beds. The ladder has a 250 lb. weight limit. Below Rocks Cabin is a long and wide expanse of gorgeous shoreline that, even in the height of summer, you may find you have all to yourself. This beach is also the only designated light airplane airstrip on the entire Pacific Coast, so get ready for airway commuters to drop in for a morning spring razor clam dig. Gray whales migrate by Copalis in April/May and Oct/Nov. The blows can be seen with the naked eye from the cabin, but bring binoculars to get better views. The well-maintained private path to the beach is utterly delightful! Take a nice stroll through towering trees and blossoming vegetation with seasonal babbling brooks. You are just over five miles from the quaint town of Pacific Beach to the north, about 45 minutes from Lake Quinault and its beautiful trails through the rainforest, and a short drive to Ocean Shores, where you will find the Casino, many restaurants, and activities for the kids.
