About this house rental

Located in Copalis Beach, this charming house for $201 per night is a great choice for your next break. Rocks Cabin Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!' Rocks Cabin is a unique, rustic home located on a one-acre beachfront lot. Situated 50 feet above sea level, the home is approximately 200 feet from the sand dunes, affording a great perch and unobstructed view of the beach, surf, and ocean sights. Described as a botanical paradise with completely native old-growth vegetation, including false Lily of the Valley, Indian Celery, various types of rainforest ferns, flowers, and native plants. Tucked in the old-growth Sitka Spruce Conifers, privacy is optimum. This home is an ideal spot for bird-watching, and winter storm-watching is incredible! The roar of the surf can be amazing, even from inside the cabin. The cabin itself is rustic in decor, with a wood-burning fireplace. Electric heat is also available to ensure your comfort. A ladder with a handrail takes you to the loft area, which offers two twin beds. The ladder has a 250 lb. weight limit. Below Rocks Cabin is a long and wide expanse of gorgeous shoreline that, even in the height of summer, you may find you have all to yourself. This beach is also the only designated light airplane airstrip on the entire Pacific Coast, so get ready for airway commuters to drop in for a morning spring razor clam dig. Gray whales migrate by Copalis in April/May and Oct/Nov. The blows can be seen with the naked eye from the cabin, but bring binoculars to get better views. The well-maintained private path to the beach is utterly delightful! Take a nice stroll through towering trees and blossoming vegetation with seasonal babbling brooks. You are just over five miles from the quaint town of Pacific Beach to the north, about 45 minutes from Lake Quinault and its beautiful trails through the rainforest, and a short drive to Ocean Shores, where you will find the Casino, many restaurants, and activities for the kids. We've been visiting this beach for > 30 years and love it. We've stayed at the Rocks Cabin several times and always have a great time. The location, views and access to the beach are all top shelf. The cabin isn't shiny and new so as long as you're open to a charming cabin with a few imperfections and not the Ritz Carlton you'll have a great visit.

Very cute little cabin. We loved how close it was to the beach and we had it mostly to ourselves! One of the upstairs beds was more comfortable than the other but the girls just decided to share instead. It was the perfect excuse to sit and read while listening to the waves and rain.

Rustic? Yes. But that's ok. The view, the sense of privacy, dog friendly and the beach access are why we will keep coming back. We've previously spent 2 New Years Eves at the Rocks, this trip was Christmas. We made most of our meals at the cabin. We had a good supper at the Green Lantern Tavern which is a few miles away. We also discovered that the Copalis Beach Grocery had everything we needed and a trip to Ocean Shores wasn't needed.

We had a gorgeous few days on the coast in this cabin. We felt like we had truly escaped the real world while we were there. The cabin was clean and comfortable despite its old-house quirks and the location was unlike anywhere else we’ve ever been. We wanted privacy and we got it. We wanted the beach and we got it. We throughly enjoyed the VHS collection and the blackberries growing EVERYWHERE. We watched hummingbirds dart through the tree tops from the deck and were lulled to sleep by the surf every night- and some afternoons, too. We hope to be back some day.

The little cabin is comfortable, and this visit was our third (I think). It was quiet for the most part -- except for us -- we had to get accustomed to the screen door, as it banged shut a few times, very loudly. It's not a slow close screen like we are used to. Also, the doors were a little hard to close quietly as well. The stairs and the walk down to the beach isn't that steep for 70+ year old knees, one just needs to be careful. Railings were put in, so, easier to get up and down. Instead of packing our beach chairs up and down each day, we left them at the bottom of the stairs. We were greeted at the door with a sign that read "please take off your shoes" -- well, we always bring indoor and outdoor shoes, so we weren't quite sure if that meant we had to go shoeless inside. One of us has neuromas on the soles of each foot, so walking around barefoot or in thin soled slippers gets painful (it's like walking on marbles). The cabin provides the basics that you'd expect to find. No shortage of blankets, soaps, towels, kitchen items, etc. Luxury gourmet? No. It is comfortably rustic, just enough 'things' to get the job done. Unless we are flying, we always bring our own utensils, pans, kettle, and dishes that fit the pre-planned menu items, & our camping box is always ready to go, anywhere, anytime. And, FYI, no sign of critters inside the cabin. Spiders though. For an old cabin, it's clean. Leave tips for the cleaners . . . before leaving the sound of the ocean . . .
