Located in Mill Valley, this charming house for $124 per night is a great option for your next trip. Nestled on the hill above the town, this secluded and private 1 bedroom apartment is the true essence of Mill Valley. Our guest apartment is situated in a lush quiet setting looking out over town through wooded treetops. While inside you will enjoy the greenery that surrounds you and the warm welcoming light that cascades in from the large windows & doors. Its central location to shopping, great restaurants, Mt Tam, beaches and the Wine Country, allow the convenience of all that the Northern Bay Area has to offer. Your retreat is thoughtfully appointed, allowing you to enjoy all the comforts of home. Enjoy an open floor plan of a large living room with dining area off a well equipped kitchen equipped with all you might need to create your gourmet meal. Full bath with shower. (With a separate plumbed outdoor claw foot tub on the deck). There is one big bedroom with a queen size bed and a separate day bed. With two decks off the living area there is plenty of out door space to enjoy entertaining, relaxing with a good book or watching the deer graze in the yard. Our convenient location, open and well appointed environment along with its affordable price makes for a great value here in beautiful Mill Valley. Please be aware that Mill Valley consists of many tiny streets covering the hillsides-the streets are narrow and most are 2 way. It can be very intimidating when driving up and down the hills. Accidents rarely happen as people are very accustom to these streets but to a visitor they can be daunting. Use caution at all times. The parking in front is first come first serve so if there are no spaces, try parking further up the hill. Keywords: House-Lower Unit- located on a small street above the quaint town of Mill Valley. Peaceful and private surrounded by nature yet so close to town you can smell the coffee. Easy access to SF, bus, ferry's Mt Tam and Muir Woods. Less than an hour to wine country. Mill Valley is a valley town and the roads are all very small and windy as they traverse the hills above town. An economy car can be less daunting for those unaccustomed to driving on narrow roads.

My husband, cat and I greatly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is small but has everything you need for a one-month stay. Comfy bed and furniture, good shower. Location is perfect in Mill Valley - both walkable and drivable into the town center. Street parking is available right in front of house. Laundry is in owner's unit but she is very flexible. The host is lovely; very friendly and helpful. We definitely would stay with her again.

Very Nice Stay
The apartment has a great amount of space and is peacefully located on a quiet hillside. The owners give you lots of privacy but are very accomadating. Its a short 5-10 minute walk to downtown so you hardly need a car while you are in town. I would definetely stay here again.

Outdoor gas grill, never been cleaned. We informed owner and she did offer to come in and clean but it was after the fact. Perhaps down the road this "work in progress," may improve but for us it did not.

So peaceful
We had a wonderful stay in this VRBO in Mill Valley. Perfectly set up for our 2 day stay. In fact, perfectly set up to live in full time! Very quiet with a wonderful deck and view. We even had a deer wander through the back yard at one point.
An easy enjoyable walk to downtown as long as you don't mind some stairs.
Would have changed nothing about our stay. Perfect!

Apartment was very well presented with comfortable beds and well equipped. Fantastic setting with hummingbirds dancing around in the morning and deer in the garden. Peaceful and a great place for recharging your batteries. Easy walk (but down steps) to town, where there are plenty of places to eat. Very nice supermarket in town centre and Safeway a little further away. Great base for exploring the coast (Muir Bay and Stinson Beach highly recommended). Lost count of all the wildlife we saw - even whales and a dolphin off Stinson Beach. Very highly recommended and Jeannie is lovely! Will definitely be back.

This was our second stay, and it was as delightful as the first. Jeannie is gracious and helpful, and the independent apartment in her home is charming and well-equipped.
The location is accessible to many sights and excellent restaurants, and the nearby steps down to the village are convenient, and the climb back up is good exercise.
The ferry from Larkspur to SF is fast and fun. We look forward to returning to this rental!

Lovely escape
My boyfriend and I stayed for a week to ring in the New Year in San Francisco and had an amazing time! The apartment was peaceful, private, and had everything we could have wanted. The bed was the most comfortable either of us had ever slept in! Thank you, Jeannie, for a memorable break from reality.

Amazing!
This was a great place to spend a few nights! The apartment was well equipped, cozy, and pretty easy to find. It's easy to get into the city from there, and also very close to Mt. Tam, Muir and Stinson Beaches. My only gripe is that we couldn't stay for longer. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

This was a great vacation spot for a much-needed getaway! Jeannie was so nice and accommodating and provided such a cozy place to stay for our vacation. Mill Valley was also beautiful and such a friendly town. We recommend Jeannie's place without any reservations. We had a wonderful time!!

Peaceful, easy feeling
Wonderful, quiet spot. Cozy beds, fluffy robes, and everything you might need for a short stay. An easy walk to downtown Mill Valley, too! Highly recommend spot. Probably not good for very young children as the land is not level, and the road to town is rather hilly for young walkers.

Very comfortable
I really enjoyed my stay at this very comfortable rental. I've stayed at fancier more elegant places but this was a really enjoyable homey place that is much much more spacious than the pictures portray. It has a Native American decor rustic simple relaxing feel. The bed was amazingly comfy! If you are a shy driver please have someone else drive. I loved driving the hills but they aren't for the shy driver. You'll have a great time!

Anniversary get away
Great place to stay, beautiful setting on side of the mountain we had an awesome time. This a wonderful place for a weekend or longer stay, very, very clean and cozy, Jeannie was so very nice she was a pleasure to deal with, I highly recommend her beautiful home.

Absolutely perfect location--quick walk to town. Loved the decor and amenities. The full kitchen was convenient and useful. Property was private and quiet. I would rent this cottage again without hesitation and recommend it to any of my friends. A great launching pad location for going on day hikes to various places. Word to the wise, the smaller the car, the better due to narrow winding roads.

Comfort & convenience in the hills above Mill Valley
My son (14), daughter (20), and I really enjoyed our stay at the Peaceful Mill Valley Jewel. The home is well maintained and a very comfortable, relaxing place to prepare for or to wind down from a day of activities in the Bay Area. It's located in the hills above Mill Valley - a walk down the road and public stairs to town. It's ~12 minute drive down to the Sausilito Ferry or to the Golden Gate Bridge -or- go up and over 10 minutes to the Muir Woods National Monument (redwood trees) or to catch the Panoramic Highway for a drive along the Pacific Coast. The owner was very helpful throughout our stay and mailed us forgotten glasses afterwards - you'll enjoy your stay!

Mill Valley Vacation
Jeannie is a very nice person. Apartment itself was fine. Nice comfortable queen bed. Bathroom has a sliding door (no lock), tight squeeze in shower and toilet area. Nice view from decks. To get to the lower apartment you go through her gate down a few cement steps and then cross her deck and walk down another flight of about 8-9 narrow and somewhat steep steps. I feel this might be a little difficult for someone elderly, or with small kids. The description is clear on being on a hill and cramped parking. We were in a Chrysler 300 and found it a little difficult to park most of the time. Going around blind curves on Ethel Ave. was daunting for us. I highly recommend economy cars for staying here. Mill Valley is a lovely, quaint little town to visit.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We wanted a place that was quiet and looked out over green space, which this rental met perfectly. Looking out over the main deck it really does look just like the picture shows.
It is located on the west slope above town.
Also, the bed is extremely comfortable complete with memory foam topper.
The furnishings also provide a pleasant environment, generally more like antiques in style than modern which is quite to my liking.

The property and location were great! It was the perfect home base for my husband and me for our week long vacation. The house is lovely, nicely maintained,and well-equiped with a wonderful deck surrounded by woods and a great view. My husband spent many evenings enjoying a bath in the outside tub with a glass of wine, his music and a book. It was a wonderful way to relax before dinner. We were also well taken care of as far as being shown where everything was and with suggesitons of places to go and things to do. Thanks for a wonderful week! We would definitely stay here again.
