About this house rental
Located in Tacoma, this attractive house for $286 per night is a great option for your next break. Welcome to our Tok A Lou Beach House. She is a 1926 craftsman style beauty situated on the shipping lanes of the Port of Tacoma. We have tried to maintain the early flair of the home as much as possible while making it modernly comfortable. The windows and doors reflect the quality and care that went into building this solid attractive home. The door knobs and hardware are the original glass and brass. Our home has 1 bedroom located on the main floor with a queen bed, TV, and walk in closet. The full bathroom is also located on the main floor. An upstairs sleeping attic boasts both a queen and double bed plus two wing back chairs in a sitting area that looks out over Puget Sound and the city of Tacoma. Non stop views from main floor living room with gas log fireplace, a 60 inch TV, Blue Ray player and Bose sound system. The Laundry Room has a full size washer and dryer. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, pots, pans and many spices. The covered front porch allows a protected area to observe the endless variety of water craft as they parade in and out of marinas and the Port. A direct plumbed Weber BBQ is located on the south side patio along with sitting area. Enjoy the view while grilling up something delicious! Please note that we live in a quiet, serene neighborhood. Please respect our neighbors privacy and enjoyment of their homes. Parties or loud functions will result in loss of security deposit. Our home is a small and cozy paradise and thus a maximum of 4 adults allowed. Pets and additional guests will have an additional charge. Enjoy...

We stayed a week and we pretty much didn't leave the back porch! The water activity was nonstop... there were so many cargo ships, tugboats, sailboats, fishing boats & even kayaks having races. In the evening we ate dinner while watching the sunset. Front, side & backyards were charming, filled with nature & fragrant roses. Neighborhood was quiet & well maintained.
Geez... haven't even talked about the cottage!
Check-in process was effortless & walking into the secluded yard and seeing the charming cottage, we instantly felt at home. Cottage was clean, well equipped with everything imaginable & the bed was comfy.
We've just moved to Oregon & in the past we have always had "OUR" favorite place that we could escape to.
THANKS to Joe & Jenny we have found it!

Wonderful to return to Browns Point where I grew up, with friends and family here and close by. Loved seeing the restored Lighthouse, marine life, kite surfing and sailboat regatta.

This property is beautiful. Very clean well stocked and Joe is a very responsive owner. The views are breathtaking and the sunset inspiring. Gino’s restaurant is close by and a. family run business that has excellent cuisine and a beautiful view. I will stay there again when we aren’t working for sure!! Thanks again!!

Beautiful views from all rooms, so relaxing and comfortable. We’ve stayed here 3 years in a row during swim meets at Kings County aquatic center, which is a quick 10 min away. Highly recommend!

Great spot on the water
My son and I stayed for a week to attend a swim meet in Federal Way, what a great spot! The home is very comfortable, with lots of amenities. The activity on the water is really fun to watch, with ships, wildlife etc. The Diner just up the street is great as well as the Cliff House and Ginos restaurants nearby. Thank you Joe and Jenny!

A wonderful experience
It is more of an experience than anything else. Eagles, porpoises, seals, beautiful sunsets are just a sample. Love this place and can't wait for our next stay.

Tok A Lou at Brown's Point
Joe and Jenny's house is very comfortable with amazing views of Puget Sound. It was fun to watch the different boats and ships travel along Puget Sound and the birds and seals go about their daily business. The neighborhood is very nice, quiet and peaceful as well as being centrally located within 30-45 minutes of many area attractions (Point Defiance Zoo/Aquarium, downtown Seattle, Tacoma museums, etc.). We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. Joe and Jenny answered all our questions and provided a lot of information about the area (restaurants, sites, etc.) and the house. They were wonderful to work with and responded quickly to any questions. They also provided unexpected amenities upon our arrival, which was very thoughtful and appreciated. We highly recommend the beach house on Tok A Lou and the owners Joe and Jenny. This was our first time out to the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest and we absolutey loved it!

Adorable Panoramic Waterfront Cottage Sweeping Views - Simply Stunning
We loved our stay here. Stunning view and cozy interior. Nicely appointed kitchen. The fully enclosed front and back yards were a rare find and very helpful to allow my little Schnauzer to also enjoy his stay. It was his first time to live in a home with carpets and he was thrilled! The neighborhood is quiet with several restaurants, small store, diner, and other conveniences just blocks away. Every day the weather and view would change. I was always excited to get up in the morning and see an entirely unique waterscape. Joe and Jenny were tremendously gracious, welcoming and considerate hosts. I highly recommend this cottage home for a stay in the Seattle-Tacoma area.

Fabulous Washington Retreat
Brown's Point was our 4th rental after a fabulous 2 week vacation, and by far our favorite. House was stocked with everything we needed and we had absolutely no problems with anything. The property is absolutely gorgeous..... you could spend hours on the porch looking at the water. We loved Mr. Seal who came by everyday to visit along with the hummingbirds, and the bald eagle who would give us a fly-by a couple times per day. Great location whether you are visiting Seattle or Tacoma. Thank you to Joe and Jenny for opening their beautiful cottage to our family!

A wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful stay at this very comfortable home. Beautiful views morning and evening. The hosts have supplied extras like spices for those who cook, and coffee available if you haven't had a chance to shop yet... Joe and Jenny are warm, welcoming and available for questions. The house is exactly as pictured, clean, well appointed, and has an incredible "home" feel, like it gives you a big hug when you walk in the door. In much need of "downtime", we chose to spent a couple of days just lounging at the house, watching the boats and were lucky to see a humpback and an orca in the sound. There is so much to see and do we couldn't be still long... If you have time to explore the area Brown's Point Lighthouse is just down the street (2 min walk), Dash Point State Park is worthy of a visit for a picnic, hike or exploring on the beach. We also took a day trip and drove to Anacortes (be sure to pick up a picnic at the Gere-a-deli before you head to the ferry) and took the ferry to San Juan Islands. Another "Must Do" activity is to take a drive over to the Snoqualmie Falls. You can either hike or drive to the lower viewing point, but I highly recommend it. We also went to see the Mariners, took a break at a cool downtown Seattle park, Occidental Square, and played table tennis. Of course Pike's Market and the gum wall.... Each Day we were thrilled to come back to this wonderful, calm, comfortable home. So very thankful we didn't have to "hotel it".
Nearby is shopping center with pvt owned small grocery, a great diner (Browns Point Diner), a bar (Sandbar) with a view, and a coffee shop(Coffee&Cream). Also, a nice restaurant a few blocks southeast that has views of Mt Rainier and a nice wine list, Cliff House Restaurant, where you can eat inside or al fresco.
Without a doubt I highly recommend Tok A Lou. Thanks again Jenny & Joe! We hope to see you again next year! ; )

Relaxing home with beautiful views.
I cannot say enough great things about this beautiful home. The views were amazing and I spent a lot of time near the large windows and outdoors watching boats go by. This place is kid friendly and our toddler had a lot of fun outside and indoors. The home is very clean and comfortable. The hosts were so accommodating and managed to provide us with a high chair for our stay. They also provided us with so many nice amenities such as flowers, bottle of wine, toiletries, etc. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing location with beautiful views. we will definitely stay here again:)

Wonderful Stay with Gracious Hosts
My husband and I needed a place to stay while we were visiting our children and grandchildren in Tacoma. We are so happy we stayed here at Joe and Jenny's property. From the nicely-done restoration on this old house, to the extremely charming and tasteful interior design, it was the perfect place for us to unwind. It just felt so special to be there. My grandson loved the swing hanging from the tree in the front yard. The views of the water, mountains and wildlife are so soothing to the soul. So peaceful. We were very comfortable. Incredible Property
We stayed at this wonderful home in Browns Point and fell in love. It was quaint and in a beautiful setting. The amenities were lovely and the owners had a basket out for us with coffee, fruit and wine. We felt right at home and want to stay longer next time. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.

What a serene and enjoyable home!
The view and the peaceful feeling that this property and home offer is unbeatable! My husband and I stayed here awaiting the arrival of our twins via a gestational surrogate. What a wonderful place to bring babies home to. Waking up each morning and looking out across the water….even the nights we were up with the babies I would look out the window and just be amazed at the beauty and tranquility of the location. We saw a double rainbow, a bald eagle, a lighting storm and lot's of seals and boats. My dog Rudy throughly enjoyed sitting out on the lawn gazing out at all the critters. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this rental to anyone wanting to escape the city, have a priceless waterfront location but still be close to all the PNW has to offer! We plan to bring the twins back in the future!!

My family really enjoyed our stay in this remodeled craftsman style home right on the Tacoma waterway. We especially enjoyed the park that was only a short walk away. The owners were informative and welcoming. We hope to return next year!

Awesome View and Amenities
The view was awesome with an fantastic sunset each night (the back of the property faces West). The property was well maintained and decorated. The owners did a great job in considering what the travelers would need. The binoculars & telescope were a very nice touch. We made good use of them to watch passing boats, birds, and seals. There was plenty of space, comfortable beds, and everything we needed including games, a well-equipped grill, refrig, spices, a garage for parking one car (with 'Blue Bob' to assist) and apples fresh off the tree. The location was quiet and perfect for us with groceries and dining near by and the lighthouse within a short walk. I highly recommend this property.
