This was a family vacation with 2 of my adult children and their families. The home was perfectly located in Tacoma for everything we planned to see and do! The house was spacious and beautiful! Two of the grandchildren loved the basement sleeping quarters and nicknamed it their “lair”. Plenty of games for down time. Mel was a great host!

Melanie is a wonderful host and the home is lovely. She was excellent communicating about the visit and had some lovely appreciated touches that made our birthday ladies feel welcome. This is a historical home and has all of the amazing details you'd expect with this. Three spacious bedrooms are up a flight of stairs and one sleeping area was downstairs/basement area. There are no bedrooms on the main level. All three levels have a bathroom with the top and bottom floors having full and 3/4 bathrooms respectively. We would definitely stay again as it is a lovely neighborhood and close to everything. The house has stairs to get in and access bedrooms. If mobility is an issue this would not be a good fit. If you love spacious historical homes this is a fabulous place. We had folks in our party with injuries and Melanie communicated ahead of time on what to watch out for. We had no issues with the stairs and navigating them. Melanie has a very clean home and a detailed book about the house and local attractions. We had a wonderful trip and hope to be back soon.

We were an extended family group with 2 small children and 6 adults and we had a great time staying in Melanie’s home. The location can’t be beat and the home itself is lovely and well-stocked with linens, kitchen gadgets, etc. We do wish that we had better understood the stair situation before booking, however, as the lack of railing on the first leg of the main indoor staircase, and the openings on both levels of the main staircase that allow for dangerous drops to the floor below, were quite stressful for the grandparents and for the parents of an active toddler. In contrast, the couple with a baby who is not yet walking found the home and yard very family friendly, and appreciated the provided travel crib and booster seat, as well as the washer and dryer. Overall, if all the staircases were updated to include railings and block all holes, we would wholeheartedly recommend this home to families of all ages.

We absolutely loved staying in this home. Very well stocked and comfortable. The host, Melanie, went above and beyond to meet our needs. The back patio is the perfect summer evening hangout spot. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
