Jack was a very responsive and helpful host. The neighborhood was lovely. It took me 30-45 to walk to Old Town, but it was pleasant. The space was lovely. Very comfortable and well stocked. This is a great little place to stay!

Enjoyable place to stay. Jack was quick and took care of our one issue, and that was with an air mattress. I loved the outside patio watching the squirrels and birds. Lovely neighborhood. I would stay in The Cottage again.

The cottage was incredibly cozy and parking was easy. It was attached to the owners home but with good privacy. We did most of our activities out of the house but it was very convenient and there are some amazing food places close, my personal favorite being mias Italian kitchen. Although there is no washer and dryer so keep that in mind. Overall great stay just not a lot of space for bags and unpacking but other than that 10/10!!

The neighborhood has a great feel of family, safety and hospitality. Anytime I asked someone on the street for directions, he/she was authentically cordial and welcoming. The price is the primary reason for choosing to stay here. It allowed me to do more with my grandsons than the cost of other places. Space is quite limited. The second bed was a blow up mattress on the kitchen floor. The property manager was a real plus. He was inviting, quickly responsive to the request for dishrags, called to make sure we had what we needed. I do not remember seeing a laundry, The wifi was easily accessible and a great benefit. The wooden stairs to the kitchen below were quite lovely. I would have liked to have been able to plug in my three-prong power cord to the plug at the kitchen table. However I was delighted to get to attend Bible class Wednesday night at the church of Christ on the route to the Metro!

Everything was great. Our host was responsive to all of our inquiries, and we had a wonderful visit. Only a 15 minute drive to DC, and 5 minutes to downtown Alexandria.

I had to visit for business and couldn’t leave my family back home so we rented this place and it was amazing. Very clean and the location was very convenient. It was so close the DC that my family could go explore while I worked. I definitely recommend this place. Neighborhood is beautiful and quite peaceful.

Really enjoyed our 3 week stay. Host (Jack) was very hospitable and responsive during our stay. Location of “The Cottage” is convenient to the Metro (about 10-15 walk to either Braddock or King Street/Old Town Stations”) through pretty residential areas. Especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen. Would, without hesitation, stay at The Cottage again if visiting the DC area.

This is a small but comfortable place to stay. The owner called our first day to make sure everything was good. When we had a problem figuring out the AC he came right over and showed us how it operated. We enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was cute and cozy, we loved it. Close enough for us to walk to King Street and the Metro. Very quiet. We will stay here again for another visit to DC. Host checked in to make sure everything was good. The back patio will be really nice to enjoy in better weather.

I was supposed to understand from the listing that this trundle bed that converts to a king is actually two twins pushed together. My husband and I didn't want to spend our weekend getaway sleeping across two twin beds that don't connect and aren't one solid mattress so we left. Owner did not refund and vrbo backed the owner.

Questions were answered when asked. Check in/out was easy simple. Plenty of privacy, especially considering it’s connected to a house. Everything u need for a short stay. Close to the tram- you just can’t beat this place for the price. Jack is a great host and suggested a perfect place for breakfast as our send off.

One living room converts to bedroom for 2 with trundle bed; one kitchen converts to single bedroom with blow up mattress; one full bathroom. AC works great in both kitchen and living room. Hot showers, adequate kitchen with fridge, microwave, gas stove and oven. Nice safe neighborhood, 20 minutes from museums and memorials by car. A mile from old town colonial Alexandria, train station, Trader Joe’s. Small space to hangout for more than 2, but good enough for resting from daily tours around DC. Owner/ manager very nice and helpful.

The main room is a bit tight with the trundle bed out - be prepared to either fold it away during the day or squeeze around it. We only had a car for a couple days of our stay but we were easily able to park right in front of the house.

This cottage was clean and welcoming. Small, would not be ideal if traveling with more than two people. It is a short drive to the waterfront area. It is a short walk (about a mile) to catch the metro. Jack was very inviting. The neighborhood is very quaint and safe. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The place was very cozy for 4 people - I think it would be better for a couple. But, Jack was a kind and caring host. We came in late and he was still friendly and worked with us to get settled in.
