Wonderful extended stay while doing some short term work in Bend. Great access to down town, pleasant walks from the house, and a considerate host. Couldn't have asked for more.

The experience started several months before the stay. The owner contacted me and offered customized advice for our trip. He was always helpful and responsive before and during the stay. When we mentioned a loose brick on the patio, he was out the same day rebuilding it.
The accommodations are clean and well designed. Space is limited, but comfortable for two people with separate living room and bedroom. Air conditioning was sufficient for the heat wave during our stay and the outdoor patio was nice in the evenings.
Location was excellent, with Old Bend a five minute walk across the river.

This cottage is perfect: lovely design and decor, immaculate, extremely well-stocked kitchen, beautiful patio surrounded by lush gardens, EV charger (yay!!), very quiet, but only 2 blocks from all the best spots in old downtown. If that isn’t enough, Don and Marline are charming and attentive hosts. We hope to visit again in the future.

If you looked up the definition of perfect in the dictionary it would say “2nd Street Cottage, Bend Oregon”. This property was absolutely perfect for my wife and I. Very well appointed interior decorating that was comfortable and warm, combined with exceptional exterior yard landscaping. Don our host was very accommodating providing great tips on restaurants (many that were in walking distance to downtown), and local side trips to explore. We will definitely be returning for another stay.

I would rate this property as superior in all categories. Don and his wife, Marline, anticipated and provided all the amenities that anyone could want for this cozy two-person cottage. The cottage was spotless, airy, and well appointed. The yard and gardens were lovely. Don was friendly, personable, and professional. He eagerly provided suggestions for dining as well as outdoor activities. In the cottage, there many printed resources for the City of Bend and its surrounding attractions. My wife and I would certainly stay here again when we visit Bend.

Cottage is great. Location is right across the bridge from downtown and is super convenient. Place is well equipped (they’ve literally thought of everything). Don is the best host ever. Need a restaurant recommendation, a suggestion on a trail to hike or anything else, he’s got an answer and is happy to fill you in on the best parts of his town. Don’t hesitate, stay here!

This cottage is a must-stay if you are visiting Bend. As you can tell from the listing, the owners take pride in providing a great place with every little detail you could imagine to make your stay great. The reality actually exceeded the expectation from the listing. The cottage is great, has a fantastic private back yard and private parking and is stocked with every detail you need to enjoy Bend, even items to borrow for picnicking and other activities. But beyond that is the incredible location. Just a 3 minute walk not just to downtown Bend but to the heart of the downtown shops and restaurants. Also the same short walk to the famous and lovely riverside parks. It was so nice to walk into downtown every night for dinner or to the park for live music and never have to worry about parking or traffic. Don made the reservation and check in process incredibly easy and met us at check-in to give an overview of the property and features. You would be crazy to stay anywhere else, especially some noisy and crowded hotel when you could have your own private cottage just steps from downtown in a quiet upscale neighborhood.

Cottage is fresh and clean and all appliances and finishes in great condition. Quiet neighborhood and walkable to town. Don has paid attention to all the details. Our 3 year old daughter loved sleeping on her own pullout bed and she loved walking the garden paths. The deer made an appearance as well! Thank you Don!

This cottage is darling. It's a short walk to the river and downtown which was perfect for leaving the car parked. Inside, the proprietors have literally thought of everything one could want/need. And the cottage opens into the amazing garden full of flowers and nature. I love that this mama deer and her two fawns came through daily to browse. This was our first time staying in something other than a hotel and we may never go back to staying in a hotel again.

In town for lacrosse tournament
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage in Bend. The property owner Don was so helpful and accommodating. We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and there were 3 of us staying in the cottage. It is small and cozy, but we fit comfortably. My teenage daughter slept on the pull out couch and she said it was the most comfortable sofa bed she has slept on. The location cannot be beat. It is a short 5-10 min walk to restaurants in town as well as to Drake park. We look forward to coming back to Bend and would love to stay in the cottage again.

Exceeded my expectations!
The Cottage exceeded all of my expectations (which are usually pretty high). It was my first time in Bend and the Cottage is a10 minute walk from town. Everything is well appointed including the Pottery Barn furnishings (I have some of them in my home), Bosch dishwasher, good sized bathroom with the softest towels ever, and an amazing patio area where I did see a deer on my last morning. I got sushi to go one night and wished I had some extra soy sauce. I opened the fridge and voila there was a fresh bottle of Kikkoman!

Peaceful Retreat
Beautiful interior, clean and well stocked. It was a pleasure to use quality cookware and appliances. The hosts were attentive and a delight to work with. Do yourself a favor and follow Don's detailed travel instructions. You'll drive straight to the cottage like we did.

Perfect Vacation Cottage
This was the perfect home-away-from home. The owner has thought of every detail needed for a terrific vacation stay. The cottage was charming and very comfortable. The kitchen and grill had everything we needed for cooking. The location was very close to downtown Bend and we got great recommendations for places to try from our hosts. We are looking forward to returning soon!
